You continue to sound good. Actually calm getting things done.:)
Good luck with the lottery. bizi |
My surgeon decided that since I'm having such a complex surgery and have so many medical problems, she wants to be available in the hospital to keep an eye on me in the days following surgery, but she won't be there during the holiday weekend. So, my surgery has been rescheduled for the 28th...
I'm NOT happy. But at least I'll be home for Thanksgiving. |
I have finally caught up on the forum!!!

I am sorry you are not happy with the change in dates. I am glad because I did not like the idea that your doctor was not going to be around following your major surgery.
glad that you are caught up with the forums. It takes a while but I feel much better knowing what you all are up to. (((((HUGS))))) bizi |

I'm sorry she wants to do it a week later. But I think that is good. That she cares that much about you. Donna :grouphug: |
My surgeon has been extremely cautious throughout this whole process, which is a good thing. I just don't know why they booked it for the 21st in the first place if that is what she wanted to do tho.
Anyway, I guess it gives me more time to prepare. After going to several stores, I finally found a make-up bag that I like that is big enough. I also bought some comfy bras without underwire, but they close in the back because the ones that closed in the front made my boobs look weird lol. I still have some clothing to buy and the e-cigarettes, and I'm sure I'll think of some other things I'll need before the 28th. Now I guess I can take my time. And now I have time to make more of those lists I love to make. I took mag. citrate last night and I feel miserable because I'm sooooo dehydrated. I drink a TON of water, but sometimes that's not enough. I should have drank some Gatorade last night... I'm going to have to hydrate the s- out of myself the day before and the day I do the prep for surgery. I'm wavering on my plan for that. I'm really looking forward to taking all the mag. citrate in the meantime :( I have that pre-op appointment tomorrow, so I will have to drink a lot of fluids today/tonight so I'm not as dehydrated as I am now when they draw my blood. I know they will also be doing an EKG, and dehydration can effect those, and I already have an abnormal one. I know I will be having the EKG and blood drawn, and will speak to an anesthesiologist and an RN, but that's all I know about what to expect at the appointment. I hope that everything measures up to their satisfaction. |
we are all behind you!
love bobby |
yes kay, drink as much gatoraide as you can....and of course water.
You know this, and you know your body best. ((((HUGS)))) bizi Just keep looking forward to never having to drink that god awful mag citrate again in the not so off future! |
Kay,
You have good plans. I wish you well. M |
Thank you ladies :grouphug:
Even after I rehydrated myself yesterday, I felt so tired and yucky, I went back to bed for a nap around 11:30am (?) and didn't wake up until about 3:30pm. I still passed out on the couch around 9:30 last night. I'm still retaining fluid from taking the mag. citrate, which sometimes happens. I hope it doesn't effect my blood work... I'm worried about all the tests today, and especially nervous about the meeting with anesthesiology. I have a lot of medical problems, and am on so many heavy meds, I'm worried that they won't clear me for surgery. I hope to learn something about what to expect post-op and some info about my hospital stay from the RN today, but I think that this appointment is just about the surgery itself. |
