saw my older neuro this week. Told him I have been walking about a mile a day. He said "walking is for wimps! get up, get off your fanny and move, wiggle and strengthen that core muscle." I wanted to slap him. I said "my weight is good, and I am gaining stamina. I am kinda proud of myself. maybe a cheer would get me moving forward instead of a razz." he said "bah! get up! get out! NH is beautiful in fall, get out and enjoy it." now, I get his idea, and his point, but what a curmudgeon. I felt deflated after seeing him, and I was feeling proud of myself, and encouraged before hand. He does have a point, I need to step up my game, but dang!

I walked a mile this morn.

(((Dej))) - We'll be your cheerleaders!!! I think its great that you do a mile a day. If you really think you need to up your game, walk normal for 5 min, speed walk for 2, regular for 5, speed for 2, etc. Than increase the amount of speed walking little by little. You'll get there and we are all here to help you and cheer you on.

With that said, I haven't done a dang thing this morning in regards to exercise. I am resting up as today is housecleaning/laundry day. That will be my exercise for today - stretching, strengthening, and walking (I have to walk up a small hill carrying my laundry to the laundry room).

That man needs a slap in the head. You're doing great!! You have to start with baby steps. Walking is the best thing for you! It works out every part of you!

Dejibo:I am going to smack your neuro upside the head (as they say in the south). Does he even realize that you are exercising more than about 80 per cent of healthy Americans! He should have complimented you--what a doofus. I think what you do is terrific

And obviously so does ewiz and tkrik, and they are exercise nuts!

I swam a mile in my back yard today. It was very nice.

Ya'll are going to laugh at my exercise today . . .I turned the music up and started working on the painting I am doing for my niece. Keep in mind it's a med. to big painting (30" x 30") so I am either using the floor or the drafting table to paint it. Anyhow, I started singing and then dancing (MS style lol) while I was painting. That was my exercising for the day.

Last night my exercise was shopping for groceries at three stores, making dinner and cleaning the kitchen, all on my feet. Total of 4.5 hours.

I wore myself out doing that so I didn't get cardio exactly, but I did move around a lot, did some lifting and had lots of busy work, lol.

I'm hoping to do some honest-to-goodness exercise tomorrow.

walked a mile and a half today. I can hear the neuro in my head saying walking is for wimps, but have decided that I am doing a good job! I am on track, I am up, and I am moving. If I could bike/hike/cross country hike, and so on, I would be working! I am not going to be shamed into thinking I am doing less than my best.

Thanks for the cheers.
