Default signs of an impending flare? stress??

Can being "on point" be a sign of a relapse?

lately I have felt "on guard" or "on point" not sure if I can explain it well. Its that feeling like you are late for work, at a stressful job, and you know that if you are one minute late, there will be trouble. Like you have been constantly late, and the boss is tired of you being late, and you are making others wait for you. make sense? I feel irritated, and frustrated by the simpliest of tasks.

ex. I am sitting trying to catch up to the email, in box, and the DH is being very sweet to make breakfast, but I can only think of how irritated I am that I am not ready to turn from what I am doing to eat breakfast! I just want to finish my to do list, and he keeps adding his list to mine!

anyone else? is this a sign of a flare coming? should I worry? am I already too worried?

It sounds like anxiety. You also sound very tired. Do you let yourself rest during the day? If not, try lying down for two hours a day every day this week to see if it helps.

I found a wonderful book called Mastering your Anxiety and Worry by David Barlow. Its a workbook, and available at Amazon. You can do it in your own home. There is also a workbook called Mastering your Anxiety and Panic, same author, if you get panic attacks.

What is the point in worrying if there is a flare coming on? It only makes one more anxious. If it comes, it comes, you will deal with it. Focus on the present and the future will take care of itself.

Now, go lie down for a couple of hours: Mother says so.

I also think it sounds like anxiety. I have that feeling once in a while, different from my "usual" anxiety. I used to stupidly mention that I felt as though "something bad is going to happen", but people started looking at me as though I were having premonitions or something.

Sometimes my body was trying to warn me of something, sometimes it was probably just the full moon. But I think I know the feeling you're describing. Like dreading something, but you don't know what it is. Yet.

hey girl ... you sound like me ... I'm trying to get something done and my skin just wants to scream and I'm not sure what to do ... would just want to get ONE thing done at least!!

I like the suggestions that BBS and B2Y said ... I didn't think it was anxiety either .. but, I have always been borderline hi-blood pressure ... not on any meds (I talk them out of not writing an Rx) ..

but, I had to just let life be .. and do the best I can - that's all I was created to do ... can't make the world change (or others) ... and I can't control it ... so, I've decided to stay calm ... do my best ... and let life take it's course ..

thinking of you!!

I agree I am anxious. I am just wondering why now, what started this? I can get anxiety and am pretty good at handling it, but this is a bit different. I feel revved up. hyper critical, and uber sensitive. Someone mentioned in private that the miralax has been known to do this to folks, so I am gonna stop it and see what happens. I am good at anxiety, i have had it all my life, but this is a whole new chapter of that. its out of the norm, and not anything like my normal patterns. made me wonder if I have a flare on the ridge.

Thanks for all the support.

it's a good thing that you can read yourself so well. you have a good handle on how you feel even if you don't know exactly why.

i would con't to monitor things and if you still feel this way check with your dr. changes from the ordinary make indicate the need for a check up.

what kind of calming down tricks do you use?

I can use distraction, meditation, yoga, singing, writing, and sometimes a good hard look at myself, and the situations around me, will help bring things into focus. I used to have horrible panic/anxiety attacks, and working in a prison, they can smell fear on ya. That made it worse. I used to sit in my car after work and just sob. couldnt figure it all out. A wise woman taught me to slow down, and just listen to me. Stop listening to everyone, and everything else, and just tune into me.

That is how I know this new level of anxiety is different. I am not saying its not possible that its plain old anxiety, just that this is a new level for me. Makes me wonder what changed, or is changing. I do recall feeling this way just before my ON in 02.

Thanks for all the hugs, public and private.

Slow down ma'dear and smell the roses, if you can find them in the snow.

I'm not much help because I worry non stop and the only way around it that I've found, other than medication, is having structure in my schedule. Around everything!

I often wake up with a sick feeling of dread every morning. All I can do is shrug it off and keep going.

You need one of these and I really hope you feel better Dej, you don't deserve this!
