Sally, what kind of symptoms do you get with the allergic reaction to cipro? So you mean you get oral thrush for the AB not the UTI??? I'm confused!

I'm not sure about the probiotic pill. They did give me a Fluconazole tablet to prevent yeast infection which I always get when taking AB. Is that anything close to what you are talking about? My husband just got some yogurt pills and said for me to share with him. But I haven't been. hate to use them up from him. But maybe I should be taking them too. It must be hard for you to be so allergic to so much. I have been lucky 'so far' and am not allergic to anything that I know of. Hope it stays that way. Thank you.

Cipro should be fine if your not taking those meds. The pharmacist only concerned himself with the Tiz Jim was taking. You could call the pharmacy and tell them what you take and they can tell you if it interacts with Cipro. If you get your meds at the same place chances are it would have shown up. Jim gets his meds at the VA so when he uses a civilian pharmacy we have to let them know about his meds. You are probably fine and don't need to worry. Cipro is a great med for uti's. Hugs.

I broke out in a rash from Cipro and the Sulfas. Macrobid caused the oral thrush.

my fyi about oral thrush was just to make you aware.
you might see white patches in your mouth or throat. your tongue might feel swollen. this doesn't mean to say you're going to get it, just that you want to be aware in case you are feeling something off in your mouth. you'd have to get to your dr because the tx is a Rx that's prescription. i know everyone is offering some great advice and tips. but don't feel like all this is going to happen to you. the most important thing is for you to communicate with your dr. anything untowards should be discussed with him/her.

Kind of ironic with this thread going that I came down with a UTI on Friday On sulfa drug, not Cipro...I'd better start downing more water after reading these posts.
Hope you're feeling better, F2U
