*tkrik raising hand* Me! Me! Me! As I mentioned before, many times the increase in the hug pain and nausea go hand in hand. Other times it is just plain nausea. I had an EGD done once and the GI dr said that the nerve endings in my stomach are hypersensitive and cause my stomach to go in to spasms. At the time, we did not know I had MS and the GI dr didn't know why the nerves were like that. We now know this is due to the lesions and damaged nerves along my rib cage and more than likely my stomach. I do not have abdominal reflexes on the left side (the hug side) nor do I have feeling in areas along my rib cage on the left side.

In the beginning, my PCP tried several medications. The one that worked the best for me is an oldie but goodie - Carafate. It coats and protects the lining in the stomach. I did not have any side effects from it and was able to tolerate it well.

Also, I know you have trouble with your sinuses so don't discount mucous from your sinuses causing an upset stomach. I too have terrible sinuses and when I have a lot of drainage in the back of my throat, I have stomach troubles including diarrhea/loose stools. You may have a sinus infection and don't realize it and that would certainly cause the symptoms you are experiencing. It may be worth having the dr check out your sinuses.

I hope you start feeling better soon!
