Sally, it's so good to see you back in place. It's been a long time but falls can be such bad news.

Your having to lie on the ground unable to get up for 24 hours tells us something we probably need to know about today's world.

This isn't the cozy little town some of us might like to think it is, where you yell for help and some friendly helpful neighbor nearby hears you. People are pretty cut off these days. We almost have to have ways of staying connected even if they're things like cellphones or Lifeline buttons.

Hard to remember to take your cellphone to the bathroom with you in the middle of the night though! It will be a while efore I get into that habit but something tells me I should try.

I'm sure your loved ones have busy lives and are doing the best they can to look in on you but maybe now someone can arrange to give you a daily call, maybe a twice-daily call?

I had a couple of e-mail exchanges with your daughter--I'm assuming it's the one with MS? She must be very busy with 4 kids. It was really kind of her to go to the trouble of communicating with me, a stranger from online butting into her private life.

Thank you all so much for your continued caring, helping and listening. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone. I feel so alone and deserted here in my little home. I'm in no way deserted, but that doesn't seem to be sinking in this muddled sad little mind.

I've been reaching out all morning on the phone to people to help me get to my Docs and other stuff and some of it is coming to me very slowly and I am so appreciative but still sad. Like you said Joan, this ain't the 40s or 50s anymore and our friends and family are spread all over living there lives and we just aren't a part of it anymore.

I think I just need more healing time of mind and body to rise above this again. Damn MS messes with everything. I'm trying and I hope you all don't get fed up with me, before that happens. I want to be a friend with a comforting / funny word for you too, but don't seem to be able to muster much right now, even though I feel all your pain.

Who thinks they'll get fed up with Sally?

You are always there for others, let us do what little we can. Sally, knowing you're there is great. Being the brave little soldier is wearing sometimes. We needed you, now let us be needed by you a little.

Hi Sally,

Many nights when my neuropathy was causing insomnia to keep me up I would read about the different forums. I have a close friend with MS, so any information whether anecdotal or research based helped me in conversation and relating with her.

Your warmth always oozes out of your words. The caring, excitement, emotion. I am glad you are home, though sorry it is not without some difficulty.

I hope it subsides each day. I will keep your healing and betterment in my thoughts and heart.

My best,

Jon

Off computer till part comes in.
Be Back soon. Love you.

Well, I'm back sooner than I thought I'd be. A nice computer medic got my part and installed it and I'm up and running.

I fell yesterday and had to call for help. the hunks and a lady picked me up and plopped me on the couch and I was fine. But this kind of thing still happening to me is a wake-up call that I can't live alone forever. So it's off to the races to see what comes first.

I'll hold on to my strength as long as I am able and then it's bankruptsy to a nursing home.

I try to always have my cell phone but do forget it when it's recharging in the kitchen. I have a whistle I carry and would hope someone would hear me. DH and kids call bag on my wheelchair Mom's McGyver bag. Carry a cell phone, a whistle, small knife (to open packages or kill intruders 8-D) a small flashlight, comb, house key, etc. I may throw in a throat lozenge or candy bar sometimes. Like a boy Scout try to be prepared for most things. But stuff I'm not prepared for sometimes happens.

Kicker, do you walk at all and what aids do you use to pivot to toilet and back to chair or to bed and back to chair? And don't your footrests get in the way of pivoting? And what power chair no you recommend?

I found this?
