Congrats Dorrie, on the birth of your new Godchild..WooooHoooo!! That would put anyone in a great mood.:D

MSacorn 08-19-2007 11:15 PM

Margie -
Sounds like you had an awful week. I hope you take care of yourself. Sounds like all the docs have a plan, that's good. Keep your chin up and remember we are here anytime.

Judy -
Wish the fatigue and pain will ease up for you. Pain does have away of dragging down a day. :( How exciting, your doorway sounds like a dream. I hope your shower and a good nights sleep bring you a better day tomorrow.

Judy -
Congrats on the new baby, Bruce. Sounds like you are doing a wonderful job as sponsor to LeeAnn. You should pat yourself on the back and enjoy the corner that has been turned. Thanks for sharing.

DM 08-20-2007 07:40 AM

Wow Margie! I'm so sorry you have had such a rough time of it. I truly hope things look up for you soon.. take care.

Congrats Dorrie! What an amazing experience you and your friend were able to share. You're right, witnessing a new life entering this world is truly a miracle. You have so much to be proud of. Your'e influence on this young woman probably saved her life and now helped to bring a new life into this world. Amazing.:)

Hang in there everyone. Wishing you all a better day.:grouphug:

(love the pics of your squishy lil one, Cin) She's a Keeper!! :)

AfterMyNap 08-20-2007 09:59 AM

Hey, ya'll. Cool and rainy here today. It's a good day to work on the endless photo project (what was I thinking!?!). This past year, I'm in the process of scanning 10s of thousands of family pics that span more than 90 years, all taken by Kodak-crazy people who don't know the meaning of "too much of a good thing"! I'll be selling DVDs of them as a collection. Hey, my sibs and fam can afford it! LOL, anything for a buck!

I'm officially 3 weeks away from my big trip and mentally packing now. It will be a challenge to pack light for 3-seasons, but it's an art and I'm up to the challenge.

Not feeling especially peppy, but that's okay, I don't need to start overdoing it just now.

SallyC 08-20-2007 10:45 AM

Not feeling especially "Peppy", you say? I haven't felt peppy in so long, I almost forget what it feels like. Once in awhile, I will feel peppy in my heart and mind, but the 'ol body has a mind of it's own.

I guess you have to be doing something or at least planning something, for "Peppy" to come into play.. I wish I were planning a trip with you, Cin. I know, I know...you vant to be alone..sheesh, Ok, already. I'm really sick of taking vicarious trips, though I want the real thing.

The truth is, I hate to travel by car. I get sick, stiff and cranky...LOL. I love to go places, but not the travel part. I wanna hurry to get there and when I've had my fill, hurry to get back home.

I admit, I'm getting excited for you, Cin. I hope this isn't your last fling and I hope that it's all you want it to be. WooooooHoooooo, you go girl!!!

dorrie 08-20-2007 10:46 AM

It is quite cool here too. That is an ok thing though as we are heading out very soon to go camping for the week.Setting up will be much nicer in the cool air! Then a little warmer would be nice...not too warm though! You all have a great week!!:grouphug:

tovaxin_lab_rat 08-20-2007 11:16 AM

We had RAIN yesterday. RAIN RAIN RAIN!!!! Yeah. It cooled things down about 30 degrees. I hope it didn't spark any new fires because there was some lightening associated with it!

The wind blew and it poured RAIN! It was soooo nice!

Taffy 08-20-2007 02:19 PM

Congrats Dorrie on the godchild!

Margie, we are here for ya!

Sorry that poochie is not well DM!

Hey to everyone else!

SallyC 08-20-2007 06:46 PM

Maryann, how did miss that your Pupper is sick. :( I hate it, when our little friends are sick...bah..not fair. I used to have 2 long Haired Dauchies. Aren't they special? I loved them. One lived to be 15 and the other, only until 3..:(

I hope that your doggy still has a few good years left.,They just leave us way too soon. :( Give us an update, please. How is your little poochy doing? Better, I pray.

((((((((((((Maryann)))))))))))))))))

DM 08-20-2007 08:09 PM

Thanks Sal! The Vet's pretty sure Maggie May has Lymphoma. She's doing very well on the Roids... The Vet doesn't know how much time she has, so of course, we are just spoiling her like we normally do.

Have Fun Dorrie> Camping is such a great relaxing get a way. We love it.

Hey FG? I'm sorry about all the fires going on your way. Enough already...

On an upside~ DH and I visited a dear friend tonight who is in Rehab from a horrific accident. She's amazing. She has 6 wks left in her neck halo and today was walking.... Plus a plate in her pelvis, crushed wrist, etc.

I am trying to learn from her. I go there to make her feel better and come away feeling BETTER myself. Amazing.

Just like all of you,:grouphug:

Hi Cindy,

Well, I still feel like crud. These eye drops burn and I have to do it 4 times per day. I was just researching "eyes weeping pus" and found that herpes simplex virus can cause this also. I have Epstein Barr Virus which is in the family of herpes simplex. If this is the case, I am getting the wrong treatment. so if my eyes aren't better, will bring it up with eye Dr on Wed.

Ms is tied in there with the HS Virus, as well, so \, it looks like you got blessed with the lot..:(

I hope you feel better soon..

AfterMyNap 08-20-2007 09:59 PM

Oh, yuck. I had to do steroid drops once too, Margie, and boy did they sting! The first time I used them, I freaked out and called the pharmacy throwing a fit that they put acid in that bottle. It got better after a few days, but 10 days passed and they did help.

You sure have your hands full, girl. Take it easy and catch up on your rest, okay?

Riverwild 08-21-2007 05:45 PM

Yawnders on in...

Hiya!!! Didja all miss me? :D

I had a hard 18 days on vacation. It killed me to go back to work last night. The only thing that kept me from calling in was the knowledge that I am only on for three days and then off again for three days and then on again for three days! I am filling my schedule with vacation days!

I ache all over and can't catch up on anything, sort of like vacation hangover  .

Hope everyone's well! I may have some down time tonight when the lump I am working with nods off for his usual 6 hour snooze  , and hopefully catch up then!

AfterMyNap 08-21-2007 08:16 PM

Hey, RW, I wondered when you were coming back! Sounds like the vacation was a-okay. Cool, it's good for the soul. I'm glad you checked in, now get back to work! ;)

AfterMyNap 08-22-2007 10:30 AM

Nothin'? No one? Nada? :Sigh:

Well, it's Wed. and the garbage is gone. It's sunny, warm and there is a very mild breeze blowing on occasion.

I'm kind of in a "no-news-is-good-news" mode. It's kind of a general unfeeling feeling. Just don't care. Whatever. Meh.

But, hey, since I don't care, why should anyone else!?!:Scratch-Head: :Ponder:

Curious 08-22-2007 11:03 AM

great...amn...did you throw the members out with the garbage?

we recycle around here don'tcha know it? sheesh...now i have to go find where you tossed them.

Curious 08-22-2007 11:10 AM

maybe this will help them find their way home

Curious, Did you change locations or were you always at the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory?? Fuzzy minds need to know these things.

AMA is where I was a couple of days ago....Sort of a lurking-mellow mood..LOL.

It's almost time to help you pack..huh, Cindy? What is your itinerary? Where are you taking us all? I need to know what to pack also.:p

AfterMyNap 08-22-2007 11:38 AM

I don't think so, Monkey, I was able to lift the bags into the car... the trash bags, I mean... and, the truck left with them about an hour ago. I know where the landfill is, but you're on your own with that, my rollator will get stuck in the muck.

Well, Sal, plan to pack for four seasons with all your convertible layers. Put your down vest/gloves, etc. in a compression sack. We have to wait for a few orders to arrive (boots/new fleece over-wear) and we need to take the car in for a nice interior cleaning.

Next week it's oil change and brake inspection, we don't foresee any major issues, we just had a thorough ($$) check-up in June.

Then we have to configure the seats and decide where everything will be kept. Check all gear and make sure it's in working order, load the coffee supplies, corkscrew, stove, mess kit, water bottle, etc.

There is a lake in our way, so we'll go due south, then SW, the W, do lunch, then W. Then N, and W, W, W, W. N, N, W, W, S, N, W, W, W, W, N, N, W, W, W, W, S, S, S, N, S, S, S, E, NE, E, E, E, E, E, UP, E, DOWN E, N, S, E, E, E, E, S, E, E, E, N, home. Not too hard.

SallyC 08-22-2007 12:54 PM

Uhhhhhh..thanks for making that all so clear for me, Cinders.. http://home.earthlink.net/~sal.pal/s...ctures/duh.gif ..I'm ready!!!:p

You bet, Sal! We only have 16 days, 11 hours to pull it all together. I'm even thinking about getting a map. Nah, waste of space.

Hey, where the heck is Flygirl? Somebody call Tattoo and find out where de plane went.

SallyC 08-23-2007 10:59 AM

I'm feeling okie dokie today, I guess, but just wondering where all the time goes. I ccan't believe this is thursday already. I feel like I'm in a time warp all the time now.

Remember the song "Turn Around"? I was only 18 yrs old......turn around and I'm grown with Kids of my own, a Loving Husband, and a great life........turn around and I'm 67 with Kids grown, Hubby dead and NO LIFE!:D

It's all just flying by too fast for me. I hate it!!

Talk about being full of encouragement...NOT!

AfterMyNap 08-23-2007 11:54 AM

No kidding, Sal, just last night I had the striking realization that it was already dark at 8:40. That really knocks the wind out of my sails every year. For some reason for me, it signifies the beginning of an end every year. I don't suppose MI winters help that much.

Lately, so much is changing around me and inside me, I am just detached from it all. Oh well, life will go on with or without me, so I had better go do something.

Quickly drives in with my half a car and lifts up Flygirl's face:Girl(angel-flying):

Cindy, I wanna gooooo with ya! Gawd I miss the days when I could just take off for months at a time!! I wish I was still free and easy ( don't start!!)

Sal, ya sound down. Oh how I wish that clock could be turned back, for all of us. If wishes were horses...sigh.

DM- I want roast beef on my sandwich, with hot cappicola and sandwich pepperoni and cranberry hot mustard and fresh garden tomato and pepper jack cheese please!!

Shoot! Now I have to go make a sandwich!!

AfterMyNap 08-23-2007 05:12 PM

I hear ya' RW, but girl, be so careful about what you wish for!!! This trip was supposed to be 6 months backpacking Europe 10 years from now.

I think you've been eating at too many bridal showers.

Make her a real sandwich dm, shaved roast beef w/Swiss, mustard, lettuce, maybe a little horseradish. Throw a huge dill pickle spear on the side and send her packing. Fru-fru food has its limits.

Whut up witchu, FG?

You guys, I have to be honest. I think my hormones are raging out of control. I'm 44 and pre, off the pill, with a fickle calendar these days, but everything sends me into a meltdown anymore. I'm waaaaay overreacting to everything. Some of my friendships are in transitional phases and every single thing totally sets me off. I'm sick of living this freakin' gimpy way too, and between the two "M"s I'm going out of my mind. Someone just shoot me!!!:Bang-Head:

Riverwild 08-23-2007 06:09 PM

Ooooh!

Backpacking in Europe!!

I was perusing the new National Geographic Adventure Mag and reading about a guy who went to Alaska because of a Robert Service poem. His report was about the ANWR oil drilling debate. They hiked and rafted from one edge of the ANWR to the Beaufort Sea. I could FEEL myself out there and I almost cried.

I am jealous that you have the big M!! I want it so bad that sometimes I go outside and scream COME ONNNNNNNNNNNN MENOPAUSE!! ( I wait til the neighbors go home for the season :p ) At 48 I expected to see some sort of sign that the torture would soon be over but NOOOOO...39 years of the cramps and heavy flow and no kids to show for the torture...I am READY TO BE DONE WITH IT!! I am seriously considering ending the whole thing surgically but still hold out hope that it will just hurry up and end already!!

AfterMyNap 08-23-2007 06:18 PM

Shoot, RW, I offered my gyn $25k in cash to do the deed when I was 30 and she scoffed at me! I'm not a candidate for surgery and it just ain't right.

I never wanted kids and I've never been pregnant, so WWWHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????? ??

I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!

Taffy 08-23-2007 07:03 PM

Honestly, I saw what my mom went through and I'll stick it out over dealing with that.

My grandma just stopped point blank one day. I look like her, so here's hoping... tomorrow would be good...

tovaxin_lab_rat 08-23-2007 11:15 PM

Well...nah, you don't want to know.

RW - I already gave you bad time about your half car on that other forum, so I will go easy on you! :D

As for the other "M"...neener neener neener....got rid of that issue when I was 34! Best thing I ever did! And yep, right there with you Miss Taffy...thought I was gonna die before they took all the parts out. My gyn left me on ovary at the time so I didn't go through menopause until about 1999...started having symptoms, had that ovary removed -- dang it had some grapefruit sized cysts on it, and got me some of those little green pills...gotta love 'em. HRT is my friend. Ranks right up there with Topamax.

I be doing fine now...yep! Me and my pills.

DM! I am sorry you are under the weather again....we gotta get you fixed up girl.

Help is on the way!

:partytime2:

Was looking for that airplane....hmmmm....
