Well, I'm kind of bummed this morning. The hand thing is still here and it's making me paranoid. I just had IVSM a few weeks ago so I doubt my neuro will be up for another round. Oy. Is this a sign that my trip is for naught?

I'm up sickening early today to take advantage of the cooler weather and get some things done outdoors. I will sleep through the brutal, hot afternoon.

Sorry to be a drag but it's the old uncertainty choking the life out of me.:Dunno:

MSacorn 08-29-2007 06:31 AM

AMN
I'm sorry your symptom is causing such worry. :( I't may not be a bad sign, just a gentle reminder to pace yourself and not stress too much.

You are much stronger then you give yourself credit for, and fighting :mf_swordfight: this sucky ms is what makes us powerful together. :grouphug:

I wish you a successful day with much accomplished. A siesta sounds like the perfect way to reward yourself for getting up so early. I've yet to go to sleep yet. Still waiting for meds to kick in.

Thanks Wiz and I am so happy your doing so good right now:hug:

I know I'll love the end result once the carpet is in. It's just all the before stuff that I dread.

We have lived here 11 years and all of us, hubby, me and both kids save things. You just never know when you might need it :icon_rolleyes:

So, we have been going through stuff and throwing things out.....seriously, we have hauled bag after bag out to the trash. I am not a very unorganized person and although my home may look clean don't open a closet, drawer or cabinet things may jump out at you

I have a walk in closet that I can actually walk into now :o :D

Sorry Cindy.

I know the feeling of being paranoid when it comes to this disease and I don't like it. You wonder and worry if a symptom(s) means another relapse or will it just be temporary.

I sincerely hope this is just a temporary thing.

As a wise person said to me......Take care of yourself

I have arrived in Portland, safe and sound, after my 450 mile drive. It's hot here! Hotter than Boise...YUK YUK YUK!

Cindy, I am sorry you are feeling so icky...rest, my dear friend, PLEEEEEEZE!!!

Snoops....are we gonna have to scrape that UTI outta you?? Oh, that sounds awful! What's going on???

I've got a busy day tomorrow at the hospital with the docs, and the nurse and the whoever else I am gonna see...then Friday is wait and see day...so...hopefully I will feel ok and can get some errands done!

Long drive today...staying with my brother so I have a nice quiet place to stay! Yeah!

Everyone, get well!

DM? Are you feeling better?????

 to everyone!

Taffy 08-29-2007 06:58 PM

 Oh! My first day was horrible! They duct taped me all up and drugged me around the room with a rope!

Not really.....but I had the worst headache at the end of the day.

Good thing I always carry one of those plastic ziplocs with me. I got to see my lunch again on the way home!

(Rubbing eyes) FG...is that you? You look different! I like it. Looks good!

I will have my brother take a picture of my new hair do! I love it.

Showed up at the jobsite this morning before I left to drive over to Portland and my partner took a look at me and said...wow! nice hair cut! Looks good! (at least someone noticed!)

Geez, Taffy...nice first day at school! Bet you impressed everyone! LOL! Too much excitement, too much heat?

SallyC 08-29-2007 07:33 PM

Wow, sounds like a "Bad Day at Black Rock" here, today. :Sigh:. It's been raining here, so I slept through most of the day.:Zzzz:

I'm sorry that you All are not feeling up to par..:( Like Scarlett used to say..."tomorrow is another day". This is hump day, so, when we get over this big hump in the road, it's got to get better...right!

I do hope that all this is only due to the rotten heat and not MS Flare related....<fingers crossed>;)

My DD called this evening just to chat:) and my Sson is leaving tomorrow for a vacation in Mexico and then he'll be moving back to Hawaii where SO is Stationed........and.......Life goes on.......:D

I'm OK, healthwise, but I don't go out in the heat, like the rest of you adventurers. I'm a prisoner of AC.:p

I pray a good night's sleep will have you all feeling a bit better tomorrow.

DM 08-29-2007 07:41 PM

Hi all! Well, I'm not happy one bit about all the bad days everyone is having.

Taffy: Sorry about your bad day today and the repeat of your lunch to remind you just how bad it was... Hope tomorrow is better.

Cheryl: Yes, I wanna see a pic. Bet you look dahling. Wow, that was a drive. Hope you can get rested up while at your brothers. Oh, and I'm feeling better. Thanks for asking.

Ok Leeanne! That's enough work for one day. I know what you mean by sticking "clutter" out of the way. I'm very good at that. The end result w/the new carpet will be worth it tho. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

How's the hand tonight, Cin?? I know your'e pretty concerned. Let's cross our fingers that it's a fluke and you'll wake up tomorrow and the numbness will be gone. Want me to come and pinch you to check???? take care all.

We are going to get a lil cool down, Sal!! Hope you get some relief soon.

take care all.

Sounds like a relaxing day for you Sal, well done.

Got to ask did you Sson rid himself of the grizzly adams look? I hope you enjoyed your visit. He'd better send you a postcard from Mexico.

It was cooler here today 70's only but we'll be up in the low 90's by the weekend.

I call it, 'Screaming babies in my ears headache'!

Yes, we need a picture of the do!

Cindy, slap someone around with your hand. That will make it all better. Any volunteers? (Yes, the twit in the front row. And your name is? My name is DM.) See, don't you feel better now?

Hmmmmm, good thinking Talapia! I like your style!

Bring it on, FG, let's see the do already!

It's a lovely, cool morning in MI, I'd say low 60s and a mild breeze with pretty decent humidity. I hope it lasts!

SallyC 08-30-2007 11:47 AM

I'm very sleepy today. My Idiot doggy awakened me too early this morning. I tried to get him to go back to sleep, but he had to wizz..:p

The weather here is in the 70s but storming thus humid. Good sleeping weather though..:D I feel a nap coming on...soon....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Cindy, how is your hand today? I'm glad that your weather is giving you a breather. Biotch to us honey, noone else will listen or care as much as We do.

Cheryl, hows the trip going and what do your Docs and Nurses say? Are you feeling OK after that long drive?

How are everyone's UTIs and DWIs and all those other sickening Initials. Feeling better today LeeAnn...carpet in yet?

How are you feeling today, Beth? Well, I hope.

MaryAnn, are we winning the battle yet?:)

 For All

Hi Sal! The hand is about the same today, thanks.

MSacorn 08-30-2007 05:14 PM

I see everything is status quo here. Just the usual stuff. No outrageous antics, good good. :D

By the way, how come i didn't get the memo to meet in Cindy's garage. I would have had to decline, but it would have been nice to be included at the workbench today.

I would love some cooler weather, so those back east please send some cooler air here. They say it's cooler only 90 instead of upper 90's but enough is enough.

Lookng forward to the changing leaves in OH. Out here the trees turn yellow (aspens), no variety like back home.

Hope all of those under the weather are perking up nicely. Taffy how's the headache today?

AfterMyNap 08-30-2007 05:35 PM

Hi, Beth, I didn't get the memo either but that could be 'cuz I've mostly been out there lately. Hm, you sure you'd want to be treated the way DM treats people around tools? It's not good. Not good at all.

The aspens are lovely in their little clumps, but you're quite right, nothing compares to the autumn variety in this region.

*goes back to scrubbing chocolate off of vise & bench & drill press & pliers & and driver set &...*

Dangit, DM! Don't ever do that again!

Snoopy 08-30-2007 07:37 PM

I could use a little brainstorming if anyone's up for it.

My PCP called today. The urine culture did not show any growth so it's assumed the infection it's showing is residual and they just didn't get it all with the Macrobid....I didn't think it was gone because I could still feel the pain from it.

It is not unusual for me to have UTIs that are "difficult".....been there, had them many times. However, this one still is causing quite a bit of pain.

It was about 7 days after starting Baclofen (I have never had a problem w/Baclofen) that the UTI showed up. Part of me wants to say it's just a coincident but part of me wonders if it's the Baclofen.

Taffy 08-30-2007 07:50 PM

My head feels great!

Don't worry folks, we all love each other here! Don't we? Come here DM....(poke my finger in your eye....) I am just hugging her....

Wow, LA, it's hard for me to believe that it's more than a coincidence. I've never had a UTI (knock on dm's head), but I was on Baclafen for years. Which means nothing, of course.

Just ignore me, I'm out of sorts right now.

I hope it's not the meds but have you asked your doc if it could be? Do people "get used" to Abx and get kind of immune to them?

I hope like crazy that you'll feel better soon, I know you're suffering and it's no way to live.:grouphug:

I'm going with my gut feeling......it's not a coincident and I'm stopping the Baclofen. I will be calling my neuro tomorrow to let him know.

Yes, you can build up an immunity to Abx but I have been on two different ones.

I can take quite a bit when it comes to UTIs, having had them quite often starting at age 4. This one has just been very different than any I have ever had. I remember reading about Baclofen and it mentioned to let your doctor know if you experience bladder or bowel problems.

Cindy, are you seeing any difference in your hand? Is it getting any better? I really hope it's not worse

I think the reference to B&B problems has to do with the muscle relaxant effect. It did for me. I sure hope your doc can figure this out, I know you're feeling beat up at this point, and I really feel for you.

The hand is about the same I think, which is better than getting worse. I have a week before a major adventure and I really don't want it ruined by this. I am stressed about a couple other things but I'm doing my best to release that.

I believe your correct about the B&B problems due to the muscle relaxant effect.

I just callled my neuro's office to let them know I quit the Baclofen and why. My neuro is not in on Fridays but the other neuro said to stay off of the Baclofen until the infection is gone. She said a very small percentage have B&B problems. They will check with my neuro when he returns to the office as to what he would like to do.

I really, really hope your able to go on your adventure, I know this is something you need/want to do.

Stress ~ Sometimes what we stress about really isn't worth our time and energy but life happens and it can feel quite good to beat the hell out of something......NOT someone but "something" (stepping away from AMN)

The real question is how fast can the plane get me there. I've never flown first class before, what an adventure.

BTW, the *hit has hit the fan. :mf_argue: I'm just waiting for the fallout. After more miscommunication he went upstairs. I'm numb, even more so then the usual MS way. :(:girl(sad)::icon_sad::Scratch-Head::Sob::icon_confused::Dunno:

I love the hair. it suites you. It's so good to put a face with the flygirl.

I'm feeling a bit less shocked now. I think he is too. I went to the post office and he told me to be careful. I'm sure he meant it, but my cynical side is saying it's just cuz I'm driving his deceased fathers car.

I'm just going to give him his space. At least I can start going through my stuff out in the open now. I haven't told my family that he knows yet. I did call my counselor and she said she was proud of me.

I am proud of me too :). I didn't run from a difficult situation, I jumped in and faced the music. Wow maybe a month out from my 43rd b-day, I'm finally growing up.

Thanks to everyone for your support. I don't know how I would have gotten through this month without you all. :grouphug:

Liberated, what an awsome word. I am free :Excited: If only I had a clue what was next. No sense in guessing, I'm not good at that. I will just keep my thoughts positive and see what life has in store.

I wish it were 3 weeks from now and I could be almost in OH. He is hurting me with his words during our "discussions" today. I'm exhausted but sure am not looking forward to sleeping in the same bed. He is so hurt and I just make things worse trying to tell him anything.

He wants to know why I won't try. I have nothing to say and he keeps telling me I'm giving up with out trying. I should never have come out here and wasted 2 years of his life.

I got a lot of personal growth with this experience but at his expense apparently. Selfish he says it is, but was was I to do, I wanted to give it a shot. I guess that's the problem with meeting online. You know a person to be a certain way, only from their words written and over the phone. The real test is the in person day to day stuff. Big life lesson there. :D

Thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement. I'm sure I'll be borrowing some more of it for a while. Not to worry though, I'm here for you too.

Holy cow! I have a week to get my doo doo together! My trip commences one week from tomorrow! Getting psyched to get out on the road!

The hand is a little worse, but not as bad as it could be. The "hard"-feeling numb patch is about the size of a half dollar and starts at the palm just under the ring finger. The odd thing is, it really only gets noticable when I stretch my hand flat. Man, I hope this goes away!

*leaning in to monitor, squinting*

Sheesh. Where is everyone?

MSacorn 09-01-2007 09:32 PM

:Wave-Hello: Hi Cindy, can you see me here?

I have that numb patch feeling in the palm sides of my fingers, both hands. It's worse if I use them alot to type, or crochet, lift, whatever. I'm forever looking at them to see if they look as wierd as they feel. Nope just the same pudgy fingers as always. I used to take 1/2 a vicodin to take the edge off the strangeness. But now I have none left. :(

Jeez, one week until you leave, you better get on the ball http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/sports/running.gif if you want to be ready to go. Are you looking forward to the great escape? I know I'm thrilled for you. And so proud of you for keeping on. What is left to do?

Hi, Beth! :Wave-Hello: Yep! I can see you over there.

Thanks, I'm getting pretty excited too. My first day, I'll be lunching with some friends and I'm pretty excited about that. Then it's on to the Badlands.

I have to pack my flyrods and fishing gear tomorrow. The rods go up in the interior roof via velcro and my wading gear goes in the secret comparment under the rear panels. I'll probably be too tired to fish once I have my waders and everything on, it has happened before!

Then my general junk bag needs packing (binocs, tripod, camera, corkscrew, etc.), and my warm layers for the elevations. After that, I think it's just a bunch of wash-n-wear jeans/t-shirts/shorts and I'm good to go.

I set up a photo website the other night and I'll upload pics as I go if you want to see them. It will probably be a ton of scenery, for every 100 really bad pics, I usually get at least one good shot.:o
