I have had insomnia that lasted more than two days in a row. In April, I took a trip to the Badlands with my boyfriend (South Dakota USA for the people who dont live in America...where Mt Rushmore is) and the night before we left, I could not sleep (the quickly forming UTI could have had something to do with it, had to stop halfway across the state to stop at a hospital for an antibiotic) After driving the entire day to get to Rapid City, we got to the hotel and I was totally exhausted. We went and got dinner and then went to the hotel to go to bed. Boyfriend fell asleep fairly quickly (head hit the pillow, the snoring started about 3 minutes later...loud snoring) I was up until 3 or 4am. Took a flexeril to get to sleep, which didnt really help. I finally got my PDA out and my headphones and listened to a Harry Potter novel. Fell asleep around 4...woke up at 8am before the boyfriend did. Couldnt get back to sleep, so went and took a shower and was wide awake the entire day. Went to bed that night and still could not sleep till very late. (and we saw Rushmore that day, did a LOT of walking and I was seriously tired) Next day, again, I was the first one up after 4 or 5 hours sleep (and I'd bought foam earplugs because of boyfriend snoring) Sometimes I just have extended amounts of time where I want to sleep, but apparently the brain wont let me. Like tonight. (here we go again) I'm going to lay down in a minute and hope that sleep happens eventually. |
