My MS symptoms seem to be leaving me alone today. It's my knee that I sprained last week that's driving me bananas...

I thought it would feel better by now, I can walk on it some, but the entire leg hurts now...from the ankle to my hip. I must have really whacked it.

At least I can drive now. I'm not going anywhere (other than the neuro tomorrow) but at least I can drive myself up to Burger King for lunch.

Look at you! I'm jealous!! I'm glad you had a wonderful trip! We all need one or two of those!

Jappy, I LOVE it when people tell me I look good! They NEVER/RARELY told me that BEFORE MS came down hard! So I take it as a LOVELY compliment!!!! Take it and run is what I say!

amen.

today was "moving day" for the guinea hutch, which disassembles into parts.

four of us carried over the frame, (each holding a corner) and then the roof, which is pretty heavy.

by the end of two 50 yard trips, I was panting like a dog that ran for an hour!

and swaying a little, to boot.

I try to explain it to people, like, that for me, that much is equal to them running a few miles.

I got all the little suites swept, brushed, and restocked with hay, salt licks, feed pellets, freshly-scrubbed water bottles, cabbage leaves, and carrot sticks, and now, I'm about ready to PASS OUT !!

so, Wiz, did you notice that the climate - I mean aside from the relaxed atmosphere of vacation - the temperature and humidity were kind to you?

living on the Caribbean for the last three years, I have had the least symptoms since 1990.

so, it's not just temporary for me.... although January and February are especially nice here.

everyone else's mileage may vary, but the slow pace, and the lack of schedules, stresses, traffic, noise, sirens, planes, trains, etc... (not to mention no alarm clocks or car alarms, lol!) has worked a sort of magic upon me...

Oh, stop it Kay! LOL. Your description of paradise is making me look around and think about packing it all up. You keep talking like this and you are going to end up with an MS Commune on your farm. LOL.

Hi Kay,

I can't believe how good I feel in that climate! Our first time was a trip to Aruba in Oct 2002. I was on the tail end of a bad relapse then, and I felt good while there for a week. The past three years we've also gone south, and I always feel good.

It might be because I rest a lot, who knows? But even that doesn't make sense because I was on a summer vacation in N. Wisconsin during one of my worst flare ups and my symptoms seem to exacerbate somewhat each summer when we go there.

I truly envy you your lifestyle and where you live! I love critters, gardening and the Caribbean! I hope we can live somewhere similar someday.

How's it treating me today? Well don't laught I have a pain in the butt. Specifically the left cheek feels like it is burnt and is sore to touch and I can't stand to have my clothing touch it,it started last night and the left half of my privates hurt as well. MS related?? The left side of my head is tingling too today. Other than that, DH is home for the day and I'm feeling blessed and content.

naw, once I mention the tarantulas, the army ants, the boa constrictors, the venomous Fer de Lances, the Coral snakes, the scorpions, the Jaguarundis, the termite swarms, and the gigantic flying June bugs... well...

pretty much MOST people sorta lose interest in this tropical paradise!

I DO have a guest house (sleeps 4), but again, once people hear that there's no A/C (just big fans) and it's eco-friendly (meaning composting toilet, butane appliances, and rainwater collection system) they think "primitive" and get scared off.

there's no availability of DMDs here that I know if, and only ONE neurologist (three hours away, in Belize City)

and virtually no multiple sclerosis (I know of two expats with it, and NO locals) in the whole country.

but... this is the only Central American nation where English is the official language, and it's very uncrowded... and very beautiful.
