My name is Pat I use Morgan Pat in memory of my dog and best friend who died 18 months ago. I don't know much about belonging yo a support group so be patient with me. I have had this perif neuropathy now for over 12 years now. At first it hit me by surprise and could not hardly walk or drive. I did finally find a pain Doctor that would give me something for the pain. I think I have tried every pill there is and nothing works like the Ambian. Since I only get the 30 pill ea month I cant waste them. But what got me is when I saw that most of you clam that the Ambian helps with your pain too. I'll usually that a half of a 10mg and that will really help me out until I take one at bed time. I really would like to discuss this with you guys and find out what you do to stay sain. Because I sometimes feel I'll lose my mind if I don't get my prescription. I'm really tuff on pain but it seems to be getting worst as time goes on and I'm not feeling so tuff these days. Anyway, looking forward to get to know all of you. Hope your all feeling better now!!

Nice to here back from you, Ken. If I take a half of an Ambian during the day, I'll wait till about 3:00 or 4:00pm. I never take it and then drive my car. I have tried all kinds of pain medication throughout the years and nothing seems to help. I only take the Ambian as a last resource. Believe me I don't want to be taking pain medication that I might get addicted to that doesn't even relieve the slightest bit of pain. I'm no scientist but I keep thinking that there is something in the Ambian that relieves our pain and why can't they make a pill that contains that but not make you sleepy. I don't know it's just that after 20 years of this I just would like some relief. I'm not complaining cause I know their are people out there that are in way worst condition then me and I am thankful for what I have but I do think that maybe it could help out a lot of people with other kinds of nerve pain. Well thanks again for you reply and hope to hear from you again and anyone else that reads this. Hope you have a really Happy Holiday's.

Hi Pat,
Welcome to the forums. I am sorry about your dog....it is tough to lose our buddies. Please talk to your pain doc about using something other than Ambien for pain. Ambien is prescribed for sleep and obviously that is why they only give you 30 a month. Have you tried a muscle relaxer like Soma or for neuropathy Neurontin or Lyrica or pain meds Hydrocodone.,I have been going to a pain mgmt doc for 11 years and he let me try all kinds of things until we found what worked best. I used to take Ambien a lot but with better pain control, I rarely use it. Do pain medications not work at all for your pain or is it side effects that are the issue? It does take a bit to learn your way around the forums but everyone was new once and we all have patience with each other and everyone is happy to help. There are great moderators here and they are very helpful. Welcome, Diandra Last edited by Diandra; 01-04-2016 at 12:04 AM. |

Hi Diandra,
Sorry I haven't responded sooner but this web site was hard for me to navigate the other day and then today it was easy. Anyway, thanks so much for responding to what I wrote it does make you feel better when you know someone understands how you feel. I have been going to this pain Doctor for over twenty years and she has tried all those medications and none seem to work. I take Cymbalta (spelling wrong) now but I'm still in lots of pain. I have other pain medications but they just don't cut it. I may try the Lyrica again because I know the Ambian is not a good idea for me. I was only asking if anyone else had the same results from Ambian. Because I just figured it was strange that when I took my Ambian at night that the pain, numbing and ice cold feeling in my feet seemed to almost go away. And a few months ago I took half of my 10mg Ambian at around 7:00pm and I was able to function, out of pain and was not even tired. I ordered some cream from the internet that swears it works on the pain within 45 seconds. I don't believe that of course, but maybe it will help a little. I'll let you know if this miracle cream works and what the name of it is when I get it. Well got to go, you would not believe how many times I switched this email around. I'm always correcting myself. Hope I can find you again on this website. Thanks again for writing me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
