Hi Sourdough,
Great name. Welcome to Neurotalk. We have some great folks in both the PN and Gluten forums. Lots of knowledge. Interesting connection you made. Although I tested negative for Celiac, when I went Gluten free I certainly felt better and so did my nerve issues. So you might be onto something for yourself. Good luck! |

Shelley:
Thank you so much for your reply. I am new at this, so I hope that you receive this response. Did you have P/N before you discovered Celiac? I have had P/N for 25 years and feel that I just found the cause - Celiac. Is that possible? Your resonse was fantastic and very much appreicated. Please respond. Bob Quote:

Thank you so much for your response. I really feel great about finding this Site. By the way, although I live in Alaska now, I lived in Queens (Forest Hills ) for a while - I Hope than Celiac is not a "neighborhood thing". After 25 years of P/N, I really fee that I just found the answer. You will never know how grateful I am, and how enthused I am about finding this Site. Thank you very much. Bob |

Hi Bob!
This site has been a Godsend to me as well. Great caring and knowledgeable people here. I am so glad you found us too. I think the PN I was developing is more autoimmune in nature. While I tested negative for Celiac the gluten free diet helped me overall with a reduction in symptoms. I did test positive for IBD and it seemed I was also malabsorbing many nutients. That reminds me have you had your B12 checked? One of our members Rose has posted some extensive stuff on PN and B12 deficiency. Well fast forward and it seems like I had a very severe case of thyroid disease (autoimmune). I took a more drastic measure and had it removed for my own reasons and it has helped tremendously. I still stick to the gluten free diet as much as possible though because it helps in many ways. Alaska must be fantastic! I am envious. Forest Hills! I lived in Manhattan for 13 years. We were neightbors ![]() I look forward to seeing you around the board. You will meet some great people here. |
