Hello i am 27 years old and have been suffering through depression for the past 12 years i have been on several medications and nothing seems to work i am running out of hope that something will work. I have tried to commit suicide 4 times since the age of 16 last oct i almost succeeded they gave me a 25% chance to live in the ambulance i woke up on a breathing machine and other machines and when i woke up i was sad that i was still alive my dr thinks i may be one of the few patients that med doesnt work for so i hope someone out there can help me and give me advice and tell me other solutions besides med therapy and hospitalization because i was even in impatient programs i am running out of hope and i feel as though i am giving up and maybe i wont be here next year i really need some advice and this is hard for me to post to strangers but i am desperate at this point and will try anything i need to get well for my kids and husband and family someone please help me see the light at the end of the tunnel that i no longer see

We have many members here who understand and can help. I'm so sorry for the fight you are in. But I am glad you were not 'successfull'.

I'll pose some questions to you that you don't have to answer here... What was the trigger 12 years ago? If pills ain't cutting it, what alternative treatments have you tried? (Hypnosis? Herbal remedies?) Tried religion? Surrendering to a higher power? The Christ, Buddha, Muhammed etc.?

There are always positive choices. I know it's hard to see them when you just want the pain to end.

Yes i have tried many different things. I was sexually assulted at the age of 15 that is why I became the way I am.

Yes I am still in therapy and it is not working. I dont know what else to do I heard about a thing called Vegas Nerve Stimulation but i dont know if i would qualify for that.

I heard about a thing called the Vegas nerve stimulation but i dont know if i would qualify for this and who performs this in New Jersey. If anyone has any info please let me know. I am very desperate at this point
