I think there is great untapped healing power in the mind that I hope mainstream medicine will better explore. Dr. Andrew Weil and Dr. Martin Rossman have a pretty good guided imagery CD set called "Self-Healing with Guided Imagery." You may be able to check it out from your library. I can't say it has helped me to heal but it is relaxing and fun to listen to.
