Actually mrsD I am not taking the gabapentine until I stop the lyrica which I have taken my last dosage tonight. I am not sure if two days of reduced lyrica to none is a good thing (I think not) but have to get off it anyways.

Tomorrow I will start the gabapentine at the dosage subscribed and hope it will help with the withdrawal and if necessary will be upping my hydromorphone id need be.

And like you said they did leave me wiggle room for increasing the dosage of gabapentine.
Oh. Wow. I have misunderstood your post(s). I had thought you were on a longer taper. You are on a 2-day taper?

I am concerned and tend to agree with Diandra.

Your doctor made a mistake and is trying to cover her own butt by having you do what I think is a very drastic taper.. When I got off Lyrica, my doc had me taper from a much smaller dose over 2-3 weeks which was still too fast in my experience.

Please be very careful and read the posts people here have made about their withdrawal from Lyrica. If you are light headed and weak, that is not good.
I hope someone is with you.

Do you have enough Lyrica to slow your taper down a bit?"

I hope you have a choice in the pace of the taper and will taper at a pace comfortable to you. Can you contact your doctor during this weekend taper, should you want/need to do so?

I also hope you aren't alone, as this must be unsettling for you.

Take super good care of yourself, please.

Again thank you all for your concerns. Although the taper would seem drastic, today I am starting my 900mg daily dosage of gabapentine. This I am sure will help offset the withdrawal I am experiencing. If I were to sum up how my body feels, it would be like unthawing.

Yes Diandra, I do have Lyrica in different dosage available to me if need be.

Again thank You.

I am posting to wish you well.

I know nothing about Lyrica except I am concerned about the taper that is not really a taper. Talk to a pharmacist if the doc is not being helpful -- they are usually pretty good about these things.

Re the gabapentin -- I take a small dose of 200 mgs per day because higher than that the side effects become difficult for me (sleepiness mostly). My relatively tiny 200 mgs per day does help somewhat with my depression and anxiety.

I do remember my doc said that if it Gabapetin going to help with pain, it will be at 600 mgs a day. But I know that others do very well with it at much higher doses.

"I was taking 1200mg a day "

Thats an insane amount of Lyrica. Did you feel any pain at all?
