Heart Update on Dew; 10/3/09

Hello all,

I have been dealing with the change of the seasons..it has started raining every other day. Just when I think I am going to get a break from the aching, stabbing pain, and jerking movements, it rains.

I have been keeping busy trying to forget the darn shocks in my arms and hands. I watch TV, and play farm games and keep internet fish aquariums, to keep my mind off the pain, as the insomnia spurts have been going on for 2-3 days. Following, I sleep for about 3-4 hours, and then the cycle begins again. The games are fun and it does help me not to focus on how bad I feel. I do have trouble typing as the twitching spasm in my hands, effect my typing.

The new meds are working, somewhat( increased to 30 mg OpanaER x 2 per day with other cocktail of meds);however, I have also been dealing with severe stomach and bowel issues. If it isn't one thing, it is another. My hubby is making sure I get a healthy diet, rich in fiber and nutrition. I haven't been hungry very much, lately.

I don't want to be a wet blanket, so to speak, to my NT friends. Each of you have your own pain. Please don't fret about me. I am doing the best I can.

I see my atty.'s doctor on 10/12/09, to get a % of disability from the RSD/CRPS. Next, I will be sent to a WC doctor for a % of disability for WC. Then, the court case begins. It has been 2 1/2 yrs since by initial injury that caused the RSD. It is all coming to a head soon. I want to be up for the battle that is ahead of me.

Thank you for your concern, and please know I do come in and check on the post, I just haven't been able to comment. Please forgive me if I have let you down in anyway. I have missed you very much.

I am going to watch the House episode with mention of RSD/CRPS. Thanks for the heads-up!

hugs,
Dew

Hi friend,

I have the same issue with the disability rating coming up - I have no clue what it's all about, no one's really explained it. I went to my original orthopedic doctor a month or two ago for a "scar" review. His second surgery on my shoulder, combined with the aggressive PT performed the therapists under his authority, ultimately caused my RSD. And now, it is his report upon which my disability review with the judge will be based. How interesting will that be? I sent an e-mail to my attorney asking for a copy of his report so that when I go to court I won't be surprised by his findings. I had a problem with the whole notion of the surgeon who caused the RSD evaluating me (he was selected by the insurance company), but my attorney didn't. At my first scar review I received a set amount (not much) for each incision. Since there were only 3 incisions the 2nd time, and at least one was on top of an old one, I don't expect much money for scarring this time around.

I'm really sorry that your RSD has morphed into IBS. Mine did that during the summer months with the heat, it was tough, I lost weight and was very lethargic. I am glad that you have your husband to help you out. It does become so much harder to eat when your stomach hurts. Please try to stay healthy, though, and remember to keep hydrated.

I have read of many people taking baclofen for their jerking. I had a period of jerking last winter, it was much worse at bedtime and when I was flaring. They abated over time with my blocks. I've also had trouble with shocks, mine are in my chest, and they come randomly at night when I try to sleep. Sometimes I will get them during the day when I nap, but usually its at night. They didn't start until the end of the summer. I HATE them because they hurt, and they are so random.

It sounds like you have found a constructive way to pass the time. That is great! Please take care and keep in touch.

XOXOX Sandy

Hang in there. Don't feel guilty about feeling bad.

Hang in there Dew. I'm having issues with weather lately here too. The cold nights lately are horrible. Some nights I sleep 2 or 3 hours and some 6. I used to have to sleep 8 hours to function. I'm on hold with wc it seems. Not sure what will happen next but I am trying not to think about it. Right now I am trying to push myself and get back some resemblance of what my life used to be.
Hopefully you will be feeling better soon.

Linda,
You know me well...
I have two children one is born in '80, the other in '85. I was hurt in '83, do a little math.............

You'll now recognize, that I've had this Monster on my back (with Tos) since 83. So my son was about 3 yo., daughter was "planned", at about 5, when and in opposition and concordance to my first, injury.

'98, they were already charged with, and excited about, taking over two family business's. Hell Yea!
I invested all the hundreds of thousands I had, maybe more than a mil!
I was excited about the future, and it about us!

'98, Bang Bang, ,I hit my head, Bang , bang I fell down, with a split skull, and a subdural hematoma.

Haha!

Nobody thought a thing about it, except dad had a headache! Like usual!

A few years went by, and my children and I realized that my attorney, and my wifey (#2), had stolen everything I had. (including what my childs had as well).

So, not to say it's bad, or worse.

It's not.

But when you lose millions of dollars worth of value, and momma #1 was there to help, rather than, reign it in for her children, it gets weird.

Yes, I was a multi millionaire.

Now, not.

I sat and had a talk with my Jesus last night.
(I haven't slept for some , oh, 40 hours.....)
Ok.

I asked forgiveness, for how I had hurt anyone.....

I asked for guidance, for how to proceed?
(I need a NEW Plan!)

Don't ya'll?

I'm certain, that i will get my forgiveness.
I will ask that, from anyone I may have hurt, in my past life......

I'm certain, that I will get my "New Plan"...
Because,
If you want to make God laugh?
Make plans!

I well get some new ones, that are in ac-concordance, with his!
Like the Moon setting, as the Sun Rises!
Yes!

It will come true!
Know why?

Because of the faith, that I have in God, and his Son!

They will bring this, together for me, yes, a Sinner!
And yet, I never WANTED to sin,
Yet, I did!

So then,
I will have it as well as anyone!
I Invite you ALL, to come along with me!

Because I'm going down to
Green Grass and High Tides Forever!

Hope you come along!

Pete

xo

Don't fall DOWN for BS comments like this one. (What I mean is, do not feel sorry for me). Pull yerself up, and by the bootstraps, or whatever,
Get back on the Horse!!!! As often as it takes!

Amen!

Dew Just a note from krank here. First off I want to thank u and everyone like u who genuinely care for others that have this demon running around in their body. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Myself beiing a relative newby to this three headed beast doesnt seem to have much to offer. But knowing there are good people like you just reading and understanding is a great support for me. I guess I seem to go on when I'm freaky wacked out on the meds ( seeming to have some problems with portion control ) for me a little goes along way. But Dew just knowing your around and from reading alot of you very informative posts you are a great asset to this board and part of the reason I joined on. Sincerely Krank
PS If theres anything u need let me know

Dew,

Thanks for letting us know how you're doing. The weather has changed for the worse over here too, lots of rain lately and it doesn't do much good.

I wish you the best of luck with the upcoming doctor's appointment and hope the court case goes well.

Hang in there,
Lots of love,
Marleen

Hi Dew,
Thank you for the update. You know we all are thinking of you and understand 'the flare' and the pressure of the upcoming court hearing-those of us who have been to court for one reason or another. For me too many times to count.
The distraction sound good. That is so important to me too, to get distracted. I've had a chest infection for almost 3 months now. Going back for another set of antibiocs this afternoon. I'm not impressed with this gp Dr. He wants to give me a flu shot while I'm sick. That doesn't make sense to me I am feeling much better this morning. What is your opinion of get the flu shot while sick?
You have so many friends here, that respect you and care for you deeply. I'm sure that is comforting. Hope your court case goes well. Will the psch. notes of your visits be introduced? I would think that would add a lot of weight and reality as to your condition.
When I had those awful jerks, stabbing pains, spasms, especially when laying down or sound asleep, they only went away with neurotin 3200 mg. I hated the neurotin-weight gain and fuzzy head. I'm completely off of it, and rarely have a jerk etc. went off real slow. The stabbing pain going thru my brain was so scary.
Take care Dew, and please know we understand your limitations right now. Your az buddy, loretta
