Default I am SOOOOO frustrated!!!!

You guys know me and know that I am the one who give the support. I am sooooo frustrated because I don't have insurance and I am paying full price for my GP appts and now NO PM or Neuro will see me because I don't have insurance...I am having more and more symptoms and I can't get anyone to seeyme...I never get politcal, but now I know how Obama feels about health care...his mother died of cancer because she was worried about paying the bills...well, I am right there with her, I am about to lose my mind today because my pain level is off the charts even with my pain pills. I bumped my opposite leg and my affected leg hasn't hurt this much since I had the MRSA in it.....I think I am going to get into bed and pull the covers over my head and have a great big huge pity party for my self!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Cindi, I am so sorry to learn about your frustrations. They are certainly founded and I understand the frustration of not having insurance as I went through this for a period of time. have you tried a university or teaching hospital for an appointment? They may see you without insurance. You may wish to look into social services as they have resources that might be able to help you. It is worth a try even if you are working and think that you might make too much money. Sometimes one time help is available. I would urge you to start applying for SSDI right away if you haven't already. Once you are approved, you will be automatically enrolled in Medicare and most places accept that. Gentle hugs and understanding, Lisa

I am so sincerely sorry for your suffering.

Your State's Department of Human Services may also be a resource for you. That is where much of the Federal funding flows start. Check online.

Please take care of yourself and know that we care about you.

XOXOX Sandy

Just a reminder that MC doesn't kick in until 2 years after what SSDI decides is your date of disability. For many of us, once we get approved for SSDI MC kicks in right away but only because it took years to get approved.

Cindi, I'm so sorry you are suffering so badly right now.

cindi1965, I provided a link to ABPM Public Directory. Check your state to find a pain specialist near you. I hope this helps. Americans should not have to suffer like this.

Cindy, we live in VA and know what you are going through. I work, my wife can't because of RSD. We lost our insurance because of technicalities which are put in place so that those who are ill will be shunned from the for profit insurance co. I pay out of pocket and as time has gone by we are stone broke. We are now behind on our mortgage and are fighting now to keep the bank from taking our home. My wife does not qualify for medicaid because I make too much money. The bank will not deal with me because I don't make enough money with all the medical bills. We have always had very good credit, both of us have been tax paying citizens for 30-40 years each. I've contacted my congressman, Gerald Connally whose staff is now working with the our bank and Social Security. Cindi, maybe contacting your congressperson may help in some manner?

Hi. I am so sorry. I can relate in some ways. I do have insurance but none of my office visits are covered. So every apt with the pain doctor, neuro who ever I have to pay for. Some procedures are covered but with huge co pays. I wish I had answers for you. I also can relate as when I knock myself the pain goes sky high. I hope it settles down soon.
On a side note if you are able to pay out of pocket some doctors will work a better rate. When the doctors bill insurance companies they often don't get the full amount so when private pay they will sometimes work with you. I know it is expensive though. Also for some meds if you don't have insurance you can get it free through the company. Your doctor just fills out a form and they send the filled meds to your doc office and you pick it up there. Hang in there.

Thanks Daniella for the information. I no longer have insurance. Denied one time SSDI. Trying again. I find my Dr. appts. have cash pay for less than what is charged ins. co. Also on one med , seroquel xr first month free-following months are discounted. I'm really hoping for SSDI. Take care, and know we are thinking of you. loretta with big hugs
