Default stressful event today.

I am going to have a very stressful event today. I have to shave one of my poor kitties because she is always matted. I can't take her to someone because it would stress both of us out even more. So I get to sit on a cold bathroom floor and shave her silly but and body down. Yes I've thought it through and this is the best course of action. So if I come back on here and it looks like I've been drinking it's a sure bet I got her drunk too lol. I am armed with catnip spray lol

Haha!! I hope your kitty doesn't get too grumpy about this. After all, it sounds like you have a regular Beauty Bar in your bathroom. (Remember that fad? Happy hour gets you a cocktail and a manicure or some such?)

Watch out for those nails amiga! I don't know what cat scratch fever is but Ted Nugent made it sound pretty dramatic! Lol!

Aww bless! I used to have a half-Persian cat, and he got very old (over 20) and I think just couldn't reach round to all his fur as much, so it got very matted at times and I had to cut them out. He hated the clippers and I just couldn't do it to him! Good luck and I hope you don't get too scratched The catnip is is good plan...also a good idea to feed them first as they tend to be more relaxed when full lol. The vet also told me to put a clothes peg on his scruff at the back of his neck to zone him out...

Bram.

I just was talking to my husband this morning about bathing our maine coon. He's so smelly right now, like he peed on himself, has a few minor matts. He came in yesterday morning and was sopping wet from the rain, but still smelled.

We're going to tape up his paws, masking tape works well. Something that'll stick, but not stick when we want it off.

Good luck!!

Good luck and try not to stress over it too much. I like Bram's idea of a clothes pin on the neck, makes sense & I never thought of that.
My cats are short haired thankfully but my son used to have a long haired
"Ragdoll" & they had to shave her too.
Peroxide helps with cat scratches, hope you don't need it!

The darn clippers wouldn't work on her hair so had to do scissors o not mats and brush with a pin brush. I trimmed her nails first lol. I've tried clothes pins before on her and they don't work. She's more along the British Longhaired body type instead of the longer bodied Domestic Longhair. She can't reach most of her body because she's a plump girl and not a sleek girl lol. I'm going to try and get her belly and but tomorrow. I got her back and sides today. Didn't drug her with catnip but did give her a can of cat food lol.
