I don't know how they do that here Ada, I live in TN....it's hard to say. I have two ins. ...the one thru hubby's work, and medicare...plus work comp for the arms...So they'd prolly laff at me girl.

My doc is wonderful though, he is really pushing for them to allow me to have the freezing of the uterus done, which is what I want...or complete removal...would be nice to....but I absolutely don't want the burning of the lining of the uterus done. Not with my family history of female cancer. There's no way I want them to completely destroy it and leave it in there...that just makes no sense...just take it out if your gonna do that...then I don't have to worry about female cancer....

grrrr

Hugs girl!
Debbie

Default Hi Debbie,

I have a family history of cancer also. I lost my brother to esopegeal cancer, my older sister to ovarian cancer, my next to the oldest to a rare face cancer, I have a brother now with colon-rectal cancer. I have lost at least 20 members to cancer so I know exactly what you mean. I don't have anything in there now and I am glad I had the hysterectomy.

I don't know anything about the freezing. You know though Susan has some cells froze about 8 years ago that could have turned into cancer so it might just work for you. I had forgotten about her having that done. She just had a pap smear yesterday and she's ok. I always worry about her.

I hope it happens soon for you.

Ada

Hey Ada,

This is my doctor's website http://themommydoctor.com/ , on there it tells all about the Endometrial Ablation, which is the burning of the uterus lining. And the Novasure, which is the freezing. So you can check out his site and see what the difference is in the two.

My grandmother died from uterine cancer, and she never knew she had it...it's hard to say really how long she had it, before anything happened. It was truly heartbreaking. So I more or less refuse to let them burn the lining....I want to make sure they can get back in there should other issues come up....ya know.

hugs girl
Debbie

Default Hi Debbie,

That definitely doesn't sound like the way to go. You are still going to have bleeding but you still can't be sure it won't be just as heavy with it.

What about the freezing? I didn't see it on there. What is it called? As I said, that is what Susan had and she has light periods and so far no more problems with bad cells. Knock on wood.

Ada,

Click on the Novasure link, that tells about the freezing.

Hugs

Default Hi Debbie,

The freezing definitely sounds easier then the burning.

Hey Ada,

It sure sounds easier to me to, and alot less invovled. With the freezing they could do that in his office, costing less money. With the burning, I have to be put in the hospital, and that means they pay the hospital, the doctor, the anestiologist, meds, operating room....you know that has to cost way more than freezing done in his office....it makes no sense at all to me.

I hope they do something soon though, I'm over this..laffs

Hugs
