Sandy, how's Mom today? How are you and Jim feeling?

Sox, your family has really been through the mill with the flu this year. I hope you can manage to avoid it. I never got sick. Even when everyone else in the house had something I always managed to avoid getting it.

I read through all the new posts but my brain just isn't cooperating this morning. to everyone who needs one.

It's another beautiful, sunny day here today. I decided on a date for my big garage sale. December 5th. I've submitted my ad to the local paper. I'm going to let all my neighbors know, too, so they can set up "shop" if they want to participate in the sale. We're in a cul de sac so there are five homes all in a circle. I've already got a bunch of stuff in the garage....I just need to get stickers so I can price everything.

I'm still considering an apartment. I've found several properties that I really like. One has a handicap accessible 2 bedroom unit available on Feb 2nd. I love the floor plan but I've not seen it in person yet. I need to go take a look. I'd be saving close to $500 a month all totaled if I lived there. Now I just have to decide if I want to take the plunge! I hate change! Not sure I have a choice, though.

Ya'll have a great day!

Sox... sorry to hear this stuff is going through your family too. DH is a good patient, but I have to watch him closely for dehydration. He falls asleep and won't wake up to drink anything. I just hope we don't get sick at the same time.

Kelly, making that move would be difficult, but if you can use that extra money each month to build an emergency fund, it just might be worth the hassle. The biggest thing is finding a safe, convenient and comfortable living space for your needs.

DS is still struggling with fever and now coughing. Motrin, plenty of fluids and a vaporizer are helping. He is bored with TV and his eyes hurt too much for computer use or reading. Sad thing is tomorrow is his 14th birthday... he's getting a computer game but he is too sick to enjoy it.

They are going to discharge mom to a rehab facility, we believe, tomorrow. She is on meds that may snap her out of this within 10 days. So, it's a waiting game. She is getting worse so we are praying the new med helps. If not, either way, we will be probably taking a trip soon.

Quick check in! Busy day today so far. So much to do and so little time. LOL Actually, I am behind on my to do list. With the exception of yesterday, I have been taking 3 hour naps. Yesterday, I really, really needed to take one and was too busy with work/family. Ended up mixing up words, names, etc. LOL You know the drill when we don't take naps. Having some MS issues popping up so it's a good thing I go to the neuro for my 4 month "tune-up."

Sandy - Hope they get to the bottom of what is causing your mom all these problems. Praying that the meds help her and all goes well.

TKTC - Sorry DS is still feeling carpy. I hope he has a great birthday despite not feeling well.

Kelly - Preparing for garage sales is so much work. Wishing you luck on making the decision to move. Saving $500 a month is very tempting. In fact, that would have me sold. LOL

Fin - Glad you are doing somewhat better.

Off to finish up some homework, then lunch, and then a nap!

The only thing we can think of is this seizure caused some form of damage in the brain which made her psychotic. It's so sad. My cousin John walked in and she thought he was her deceased husband. Hopefully the meds will work. I have a feeling if they do she'll be on them for the rest of her life. I knew seizures could cause brain damage but had no idea it would go this far. :-( She did finally say "I love you too" to Jim. So, that tells us she was able to respond. She didn't know who he was though. Apparently psychotic episodes after seizure isn't as uncommon as we thought. It could go away with treatment or stay.

sandy hugss and prayers still heading htat way for you and mom..and all

well update, the cleaning yesterday, made my breathing bad.. wheezing all the rest of day, and by night time... was having hard time brealthing right... like asthma stuff.. been years since had this trouble so did not have a inhaler at all.

Not much sleep as troubled breathing, so today went to doctors.. she listened and said "wow wish I had an inhaler sample here at office, you are way bad wheezing... " but got to the pharmacy.. and yes two puffs of inhaler.. and my breathing is GREAT!

I mentioned to her that a swollen lymph node that was really swollen two weeks ago when having a cold... is not hurting or as big now but still feels swollen or a bump! She said she could feel it, and gave me antibiotics since did not need them for that cold... she said after taking them, in ten days if that bump is still there I need to call them. They then would send me to the ENT and probably have the lymph node biopsied

that word always scares me... so hoping the bump will subside with the meds... you know I was thinking too, I have a tooth that was bugging me two weeks ago.. wonder if that could make the node swell too... I will let them know that if still bump in 10days..

anyhow, that is my story... oh adn I have one kid sick out of school...my vacation is heading downhill lol...

going to color my hair soon, then make lasagne, and maybe some pumpkin muffins... my mom gave me some pieces of cooked up pumpkin... so might bake today... getting cloudy and starting to feel cogfoggy... but hey I can BREATHE well unlike overnight..so I am happy

hugss all, sarah

Hi everyone...
Sandy, I'm so sorry your mom is having such a hard time. I hope and pray that the meds help her regain some cognition. Hope you and Jim are feeling a bit better, health wise...

Kitty, make sure you don't leave all of the work of a garage sale 'til the last minute. You'll put yourself in a major flareup...take it easy...

Sarah, sorry to hear your vacation's going down hill...

Had hair highlighted and cut today...decided to let it grow long again, since DH absolutely hates it above the shoulder length.

Then I came home and slept for 1 1/2 hrs. Just can't get over this fatigue. No word yet from the neuro regarding the sleep study.

Well, hope everyone stays safe and has a good Wednesday...

No change. Mom is hooked up to a video EEG monitor to check if she's having seizure activity. They had to physically restrain her because she keeps trying to pull them out of her head and get up. She may be out of her mind but she knew to scoot down and bend her body to pull the wires out. She thought my BIL was Daryl again. Everyday is different. She thought she had to go to work yesterday morning and told me to get there fast.

Anyway, we'll know more later when they read the results. I hope all her moving around didn't mess the test up. Jim and I are feeling better today and we're both ready to hit the road as soon as we're asked to. I am kind of glad we are waiting to see if mom snaps out of this because we needed the time to get better.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.
