We have a break in the weather here too. So nice out today. I got my garden cleaned up and ready to set out onions and garlic for the winter.

Not much else new in my world. Just chasing after everyone else to make sure schedules are kept. I'm doing ok, just battling fatigue more now.

If you hear a banging noise, its just my head against the desk, LOL!

Saw the NP, but she didn't have too much to report. Had to come home and ask my old neuro to resend my spinal tap values. (this one considers it a very important piece to reconfirm DX) From the look of things, it's the new one that's a bit disorganized considering this is the second time I had to ask. But got a new fax # to send stuff to, so crossing fingers won't get lost this time around

The auditory seems to be abnormal, but the tech wasn't sure about the quality of the test. sigh. So it's a might be abnormal. But everything else came back normal, which all in all is what we expected.

But there's only two places in the area that deal with MS, so here I am. I keep telling myself that I will make the best of it.

Take care everyone!! :grouphug::grouphug:

Hi all...everyone must be busy here...

Jenn...sheesh...someone needs to get their act together!! Hope things go better in the future...
Kel...hope the dr's appt. goes well...again, kudos to you for losing that weight...

Got up, ate a slice of toast, and laid down until 11...felt so much better. I didn't sleep well again last night...legs jumpy until around 2 am. Hope I adjust to the gabapentin soon...

Went to the neighborhood pool after lunch. It's open to adults from 10 am to 2 pm. Swam 28 lengths and then rested...felt so great!

Well. hope all of you are doing well out there. We're supposed to have a bit of a cooldown the next few days, which will be welcome!!:)

:thud: Help me up will ya? :thud:

I cleaned the whole house today and finally went through all the mail and Jim's meds. The house is cleaned for the party. I ask myself why I do this when it will be dirty at the end? Am I the only one who scrubs their house for company? LOL

BIG cool down coming Deb. I heard 70 for my party. WOW!

I just finished one of my classes. Looking forward to the cooler weather this weekend. It is really humid out right now.

I just found out that my colleague that has ms fell at the beginning of the summer and tore his rotator cuff and broke his shoulder in three places. Surgery was not an option (location of break) so it will take about a year to heal. He rarely ever complains -- much tougher than me.:o He went to Ireland by himself for three weeks a few weeks after he fell!

My sis, brother in law, and niece are flying into Chicago tonight for a conference. Then they are going to his parents on Sunday and Monday in Naperville. I wish I had enough energy to go up and see them. My sister made reservations for lunch for her and Anya at the American Girl store. They are are going to have her doll's hair done and get her a new outfit. She is vowing that she is not going to buy her a new doll. We'll see if she sticks to that vow;).

I finally heard back from my neuro this morning. Once I am completely off the baclofen, he is making me wait 5 days before I can try a low dose of tizandine(zanaflex). I am supposed to take 2mg for 5 night and then add another 2 mg in the morning. After two weeks of that dosage, I am supposed to let them know how I am doing.

I have a hair appointment at 1:00. I am scheduled to get a perm, but I may chicken out. Then it is back to school at 4:00 for a department meeting.

Sandy -- Hope someone has helped you up.:D

Hi dear friends,

I have today and tomorrow off. Ended August with a bang in sales, sold more equipment than anyone else. I made sure the manager knew too, since I closed last night and we were all comparing our numbers, lol. If anyone thought my age might be a factor or my slowness I had in the beginning, well, that's gone now, lol. I hope it helps me to get a promotion to management someday so I can show the others how to do it. I hope the MS stays in its little corner so I can keep it up. As long as I go home and rest and don't do much of anything else on my workdays it seems to work. Thank God for Nuvigil too. I don't know if I could keep up without it. It keeps me from fading too badly.

Before MS I would be like this, and go home and clean the whole house and workout too. Then cook a big meal and study for classes after putting the kids to bed after storytime. (not that exactly but that amount of stuff, lol)

Debbie, way to go on swimming laps. I wish we had a reasonably priced pool nearby, swimming is so good for us with our MS.

Have a good week dear friends. :grouphug: I have to declutter and do laundry because the cleaners come in the morning.

Debbie D 09-01-2010 03:14 PM

Hi everyone...humid here. Can't wait for the cooler temps...

Sandy, LOL, is it a kink in our DNA that makes us do that cleaning? Like anyone really notices. But WE do, and that's the point...and the problem;)

Barb, you sure you can't drive up to see your relatives? It's a 3 hour drive...drink some caffeine and you'll be good on the road...sorry your doc is weaning you so slowly off of baclofen. I don't remember if my new neuro weaned me off of baclofen or not before I took the zanaflex. I know it works a bit better than the baclofen, and I was less foggy too.

Wiz, glad your numbers were good...just don't overdo it. Sounds like you and your neuro are doing a good job of keeping the monster at bay. He sounds like a keeper;);)

I laid around for most of the morning...then got some laundry done, took the pooch for a small walk, and just about emptied the tables in the living/dining rooms that had held my kitchen for several months. What's left is mainly things to give to charity or to throw out. Then I can start my heavy cleaning.

Well, we're going to the inlaws for dinner and to play cards...I always get intestinal upset when I go over there. Wish I had some cognitive tools to get me to relax them, but they get too stirred up...just a way I deal with them, I guess...kind of bite my tongue and hold in my stress...at least until I get home:rolleyes:

Have a good evening, all:)
