Sox, congratulations on your weight loss! That is just fantastic. I know you're so proud of yourself. I'm glad to hear that DS isn't crying. I can understand him not wanting to be away from you.....you're such a cool Mom and your house sounds like the place to be. I'd want to stay home, too! Hope the meds help if he needs them. He shouldn't suffer in silence when there is help out there for him.

I got a phone call from my PCP this morning. Sort of scared me because the nurse that I spoke with initially was just giving me my lab results. Then she said the doc wanted to speak with me. :eek: That was the longest 30 seconds on hold I've ever had! All he wanted to tell me was that I can go off my blood pressure med and my thyroid med is being reduced! He was as excited as I was! :D According to his scales I've lost 46 pounds. According to mine I've lost 42.....so we're going with his! :cool: I got the lecture about low/no sodium but I'm already doing that.

I'm going to try a new recipe with asparagus, brown rice and chicken breasts. Wish me luck!

well, I am really hurting and wonder lately if something is wrong... am I getting worse... each month I have a bout of severe pain thru body.. like muscles all hurt badly... and weakness.. like hard to do stuff at work... just getting more issues with the muscles... feels as though things will break..like elbows, shoulders, hips, back.. neck you name it ... feels like it could break when doing things....

ok that is my rant!!! Going to shower, pop some hydrocodone and get to bed, hoping I sleep well instead of moan in pain like lately...

tomorrow work, then off friday... hanging in the day at home.. then after kids home from school hubby and I off... woohoooo I will enjoy the golf and fun with hubby!! you know it!

Hey all ...

We had very sad news yesterday. A much loved second grade teacher
passed away at my son's school. She had taken a leave this year
to start the year.

Four years ago when my daughter had her she was given two months
to live. She was amazing and sweet and wonderful. She was my daughters
favorite teacher. Mrs. C only missed class on treatment days. She worked
the entire time she was sick, giving her all to her students!:(

I will be going in today to my son's second grade class to help. His
teacher is having a tough time with this as they were friends for 25
years. What a way to start our school year.

I ask that you please keep our little community in your prayers.

I haven't had a lot to say the past few days -- just busy with classes, meetings, etc. and tired. Looking forward to the weekend!

Barb, too bad all weeks can't be four days long work-wise, heh?;)

Had one of those awful lock-leg type of leg spasms last evening...poor DH...he just held me until it let go, which was several minutes...he felt so powerless to do anything...the legs have been trying to repeat it, but I immediately try stretching or changing positions so it doesn't get control. But that one last night came out of the blue...phew, it hurt:eek:

Going to the endocrinologist in a few minutes to see what's up with the thyroid...then I have to take MIL to the neurologist so he can make her feel bad about her abilities again...I have told my in laws that I'll take them to my neuro (about 50 mi. one way), because he is so caring, but they don't want to inconvenience me...:(

Sox, I'm so sorry about your sad news. You're so sweet to go in and help. It's hard on the adults who're grieving when they have to look after all the little children who just don't understand why these things happen. We don't even understand it......:rolleyes: Your community and school is in my prayers.

You know, since I've lost the weight I don't have the pain in my right knee anymore. I know it was from my gait but I'm sure the extra weight didn't help matters either. My gait is still "off" so the pain could realistically come back. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Hey all. The fence guy is here fixing the gate and my deck railing which should have lasted more than 2-5 years! I hate when people take advantage of Jim and I. This guy was recommended by a friend so we'll see. He is also uprighting my privacy fence. He's doing all this for $380 and for us that is cheap compared to other prices. He may even stain my decks if the price is right. It's all too much for me to get done before winter.

I have a Neuro appointment this afternoon (just my "every 6-month" visit). DS27 is coming over to go out to lunch with me. He has to go to the courthouse to pickup something he has to take with him on his trip to VA and that's right up the road from me. He'll be gone for nearly a week so I'm glad to get to see him before he leaves. Not sure where we'll go for lunch.

I'm planning on trying out my new bread machine this weekend. I'll go to the store this afternoon to get whatever supplies I need. I figure it'll take me a couple of loaves to get it right. At least the house will smell good!
