Sandy, Hope the fence guy did a good job for ya :)
Kitty, Hope the bread comes out good. :Starvin: Wiz, My weight loss has become a weight level, lol! But at least no gain. :) Debbie and Sox, big :hug: Barb, loving the cool down here too. :) Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug: ~~~~~~ My big thing of the day --- I have a really weird cat. Been doing some spot cleaning of the carpet since my babies love to get hairballs, so been using that pet odor control cleaner. Well --- She's been acting like its catnip. :D :D usually their reaction to cleaners is to stick their tongues out and let me know in no uncertain terms that they don't like the smell, LOL! |
Good morning! We are going to Nik's pig roast today. It's chilly and a bit rainy but they have wheelchair access into the house. Jim's mom is coming to ride with us. I need to also get some shopping done so I'll probably drop them off after the pig roast and go.
Oh and the fence guy is doing a great job so far! |
Had thunderstorms and rain all night and it still looks pretty gloomy out there. Just doing laundry and trying to decide what I want to do with my day. I took my first tizantidine last night at bed time. I did not realy notice any difference in spasticity when I got up during the night to use the bathroom. It did make my mouth dryer than normal.
Looks like tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day. Sandy, I hope you have a good day and that the weather clears up. |
Good morning! :)
My first attempt at bread baking was a success! I tried making just the basic white loaf (the manual suggested it as the first try) and it turned out yummy. Now I just need to get a large searrated knife specially made to slice bread. I wish I had one of those machines like the grocery store bakery has to slice their store-baked bread. I'm going to try whole wheat bread once the white loaf is finished. A 1 lb. loaf should be just the right amount for two days for us. My toast in the morning and four sandwiches for DS. I'm going to keep the end pieces and make bread crumbs out of them to keep in a sealed container. I've had a pretty quiet weekend so far. Yesterday I went to the Neuro. He was pleased with how I'm doing but keeps harping on the Betaseron. I just smile and nod. DS27 came by and we went to lunch at Chik-fil-A before my appointment. He's going out of town so I'm glad I got to see him before he left. I pray things in our country (and other places) stay calm and quiet today. It's hard to believe it's the 9th anniversary of 9-11. I will forever remember that day, where I was and what I did. It was exactly two months since my DH had passed away and I had just gone back to work. I remember not wanting to go home. Several of us stayed late that day just to be together. :( Everyone have a good weekend. :grouphug: |
Morning! The pig roast was nice. Of course the boys wanted us to stay longer but we went home instead of going to the game. You'd be proud, I helped shred a full pig! hahaha
Bears game today and mowing the back yard. Someone, I believe the next door neighbor, mowed my grass yesterday. How nice was that? Nice surprise and nice to know someone thought about us. Have a great day everyone. The server is acting weird so hopefully you see this. |
It looks like the server is working again. Hope everyone has been having a good weekend. It is beautiful here right now -- 77 degrees and sunny. I have been grading a few papers, but cannot work up much enthusiasm for doing more.;)
My good friend had a creepy experience here this week. She bought two new flat screen TV's last weekend at Sear's. She had friends visiting over the weekend that helped her mount the one on her wall. On Tuesday, she came home from work and both TV's her laptop computer, IPOD, and all of her jewelry were gone. The thieves came in under her sundeck, kicked in a window where her dryer exhaust is in her basement. She is really upset about her jewelry. she had two jewelry boxes that were taken. Alot of it wasn't expensive, but things she had bought on trips to Europe and other places, as well as gifts... It seems we have a professional group of thieves targeting electronics in the area. There were at least two other break ins in her neighborhood recently. Either there is a Sear's connections, someone saw them carrying the big TV into her house, or she posted on FB that she was getting new TV's. She has pretty tight security on her Fb account and only forty some friends, but you never know. I am no longer posting anything about shopping or going on trips on there. |
Sandy, that's so sweet for someone to mow your grass for you. I'm betting it was your neighbor. :)
Barb, that's so scary what happened to your friend. I'd have a hard time staying in my house if I knew someone had been in it without my knowledge. You're right....you have to be so careful what you post on FB or anywhere on the web for that matter. Law enforcement uses FB more than people realize and lots of times the crooked give themselves away just by what they post on there. Seems they can't help but brag about their evil ways! It is a beautiful day here today after some pretty heavy thunderstorms last night. It's cooler and we're supposed to get a break from the heat for a few days. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday. :grouphug: |
Happy Momday!
Sandy...the pig roast sounds fun! What a wonderful neighbor. Wiz...did you work the whole weekend? Barb...sorry to hear about your friend, how scary! Deb...hugs fin....cats can be sooo funny kel...I too remember what I was doing on 9/11 so clearly. In fact, the weather on Saturday was the same kind of weather it was 9 years ago. Remembering always brings a tear to my eye. I am glad your appt went well. HOlly, weav, sarah, moo , tricia, I hope you all had a great weekend. Well, MOnday is here and all I want to do is sit on my butt.:) We went to my parents for dinner on Sat. My dad is having his hip replaced on Oct. 12th. We were discussing logistics as the hospital is over an hour away. Yesterday I took the little kids apple picking and to the local vocational school farm to look at the animals. I love baby animals!!! Then we went home and made applesauce...hmmmm, I gotta think of what else to make! I am off to the library to get myself some new books! Have a great day everyone!!!!!:grouphug: |
Good afternoon everyone...it is beautiful out!! Yay!!:D
Sandy, glad you and Jim had a good outing...and that you have a nice neighbor!! Also glad to hear that your fence repair is going well. Kitty, 9/11 is one of those days in our lives, like the Kennedy assassination, that will be forever burned in our minds as to where we were, etc. Prayers for all who were left behind... Well, we had a busy weekend. On Friday evening, I got a call from sis's DIL stating that my sis was back in the hospital. She'd gone for a follow up CT scan of her abdomen to see if the infection had dissipated. She went home, and got a call from the radiologist. He said, "Are you driving?" She said no...he said, "Good...you have an abcess in your abdomen that is inoperable...you are going to die.":eek: She got on the phone pronto with her internist...he said, "The abcess was there all along...we had hoped the antibiotics you were on would make it disappear, but it hasn't. No doctor will touch it, because you are high risk." She asked what she should do...he said, "If you were my relative, I'd get you to the hospital...there might be something that can be done." So she went in to the ER...they were waiting for her. Her doc found someone who would do a needle biopsy of the abcess. But no one wants to do surgery on her...she is allergic to sutures, and her defibrillator only has a couple of months on it, which can't be replaced unless she is infection-free. So, in a nutshell, DH agreed to drive me to Detroit to visit her, just in case...it's a 5hr. trip by car. We got there about 3:30 ET, and had a 3 hour visit, then drove back:eek: She looked good, her breathing is remarkable since she stopped smoking a month ago, and she's lost the 30 lbs of water she'd been retaining since she went into the hospital last time. Her cardiologist's partner came in while I was there. he palpated her belly, and said he didn't feel any hardness at all. He also felt that if she signed a waiver, he was sure that a surgeon would take her case. We had a good visit...I hadn't seen her since we went in April to see her and her family...all in all it was an exhausting day, esp since I only slept 2 hours Friday night, worrying and fretting. My DH was so super to take me:) DH began putting the backsplash on yesterday...it looks so nice! Then DS30 and DIL asked us over for dinner... DH was glad to get back to work to relax today:rolleyes: Well, I am about to run out for errands, so I will take leave now...hope everyone is enjoying their Monday!!:) |
