I can't remember all that I just read, but I hope Sandy's mom is OK and I will send out hugs to anyone that needs them. It's so hard starting a new school year to try and get back in the groove, so that may be why many of us with kids aren't really around much right now.

I'm here, but I shouldn't be. I'm putting off laundry and cleaning and packing for my trip. Heck, I haven't even had a shower yet! We had drama last night and I got up late.

At 1AM, someone was ringing the doorbell and pounding on our door. We didn't realize it at first, but my 13 year old said he heard it and woke us up. I have a real loud air cleaner in my room and the TV was still on, so I didn't hear anything clearly. I looked out my bedroom window and saw a red car in my driveway with Ohio plates and someone in the passenger seat.

DH got up and put shorts on and went to the door while I was holding the phone ready to call 911. By the time he got there, they had given up and drove off. Phew! I don't know what they wanted, but I'm glad we didn't find out. I actually armed the security system after that. I don't usually unless DH is out of town. I may just start setting it all the time now - I pay for it every month anyway.

Then, at 5:30AM, one of the cats knocked over a cup of chocolate milk that the 10 year old left on my dresser before bed last night. What a mess! I just love getting up in the wee hours to clean up spilled milk!! Cat and son are on my list today.

I have to brag just a little. I won't tell too many people in real life because it just seems that so many don't want to listen to your kids' accomplishments. I am so proud of my 13 year old. The school tested all of the 8th graders for reading aptitude. He tested at 12.9+ which they said was above college level. His literature teacher told him there were only a few that tested at 12.9, but he was the only one who was at 12.9+. So, I am just beaming about it.

That was me in school and he is so much like me with reading. Now, if he could just be a little more type A like me, he would probably have straight A's. He makes honor roll without a lot of effort and it makes me crazy that he doesn't put a little more into it and get the grades he is really capable of. I guess grades were my measure of self worth when I was in Jr High / HS that I was a little obsessed.

Well, now I really have to get moving. I keep telling myself that I will do 15 minutes of cleaning and 15 minutes of goofing off at a time, but so far, it's been all goofing off and no cleaning.

Check out Best Buy. They might be able to beat them. I would also look online for free shipping options and set it up yourself.

I'm trying to figure out the install quote. I mean how hard is it to plug in the cables? You aren't having it wall mounted or hooking up a home theater are you?

No, it is just a matter of plugging in the cables. I was going to put it on my tv stand that I had made last year by the Amish. Physically, I am not capable of lifting or carrying the new tv (probably not really heavy but awkward). I am afraid I would trip, fall, or drop it. I also have an old tv that needs to be moved in the garage, and it is really heavy. Closest Best Buy is over an hour away. I guess Sears have a minimum 139.00 service charge. I will figure something out. But I was too annoyed to buy it today when he told me about the charges.

Is is beautiful here too. :) 73 degrees and sunny at 1:20 pm. I would love to have this kind of weather year round. I am doing laundry and went out to lunch for Thai. I went by myself and took a book. I always feel the need to have a book if I am eating alone.

Good Morning! :) It's beautiful and cool here this morning. High of 87 so it's gonna get warm. Nice, though. Not oppressively hot like it has been.

Nothing much planned for today. I might pull some weeds around the back porch. I also have a bird feeder hook I want to reposition but I need DS to pull it up from the ground.

I did some cooking yesterday and tried a couple of new recipes. They turned out well and I froze a big portion of the Vegetarian Chili I made. It was really good....DS even liked it! He had no idea there was zucchini and carrots in it! :p

I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day. We're on the downswing to Fall now. Hopefully cooler days are right around the corner. :grouphug:

We survived the overnight party! We had wall to wall guests because I don't want anyone drinking and driving. I honestly don't think I can do this again though. It took everything I had to get ready and then clean up. Plus, I am just not the partier I used to be. These people can go on and on! LOL But, it was fun. Many didn't show up because we are so far so maybe we can find a middle place for everyone next year.

Today I have a roast in the oven, some pintos in a pot and I am vegging in front of the TV. Mom is doing fine but with each seizure it takes more from her mind. Sis is calling around this week to see if we can get her doctor to do a seizure study on her because pretty soon mom wont even know who she is. :-(

Happy Labor day everyone.

Good Afternoon! Just enjoying another beautiful day here. I sat outside for about 45 minutes this morning reading, and then went out to lunch with my friend. Had pulled pork barbecue flat bread. It was huge. I have enough leftovers for two more meals. I lost 3.8 pounds in my first week of counting points. I was annoyed that it was not 4:rolleyes:. Hope you all are having a great day.

Hey all!

a great party.

Everyone else...I hope you had a nice Labor Day Weekend!!!!

Sorry to have been so absent over the summer...it was just so busy and
insane that I did not get on the puter much.

Today was the first day of school. My oldest I brought back to school'
last week. My eighteen year old started community college last Thursday.
My dd11 started middle school today.

My youngest(the one with extreme anxiety) started today. No Tears!!!
He was doing his zillion questions but I can handle that. At least we
didnt have to peel him off of me to get on the bus.:) I feel like
I am going to throw up...I am just waiting for the phone call.:o

So, It feels good to just sit.:D

Everyone have a great day! Love andhugs to everyone!:grouphug:
