Hey all, thanks for the thoughts about our friend. Her wake is Thursday. The family is beside themselves, this is the second child lost suddenly. :-( It's going to be a hard week for them.
Jim was running a small temp last night but is ok today. Damn MS, you never know if it's an infection or unexplained fever. But he's a little better today. Keeping an eye on him. Hope everyone is OK. Finn, hope kitty is ok. Barb, glad your starting to feel better. It may be the meds, let us know. |
Sandy, I am sorry about your friend. I think I missed saying that earlier.
I am still feeling nauseated. but I am not as sick as I was. I called pcp office, and I am waiting for the nurse to call me back. I have not taken any tizantidine since yesterday afternoon. I do hope it is just a stomach bug. Jenn, Hope your kitty is ok. |
Good morning,my dear friends...I've been AWOL...
It's a gorgeous fall morning...love those blue skies!!:) Sox, glad to hear DS is eating breakfast again...that is definitely a move in the right direction:hug: Sandy, so sorry to hear of your friend's passing... hope your mom is doiing better, too. Pam, hope the cooler weather makes a difference in your quality of life... Barb, might be the med...I hope not, but you might be doing the right thing by going off of it and seeing if you're feeling better. I felt tons better after going off of Ampyra... Fin, I feel so bad about your kitty ailing...it breaks my heart...hope he's on the mend...prayers  Kitty, you make so many different breads...do you have a bread maker cookbook? What's the title? Well, what an interesting few days...we went up to close the cabin on Thursday...it was cold, esp at night. DH wanted to finish a short retaining wall he started this summer around the cabin to keep the rain from washing the dirt away...but then he and DD took the pontoon boat out to fish and had to row back. The motor kept conking out. The heavy flooding rains had actually moved our very heavy pier to a 45 degree angle to shore, so when he pulled it out, we had to lever it up and push it back to a 90 degree angle before the winch could get it into shore and we could tie it up. Then when DD tried to ride the boat around to the landing so we could get it out, the motor died again. Our neighbor had to ride alongside and get us to the landing. Unfortunately the pier at the landing had been moved by the floods as well, and was parallel to the shore in the water, blocking the landing. DH managed to pull the boat next to the landing and pull it onto the trailer. DD figured out the possible reason for the engine failure-when they came up one weekend, the gas cap had been left off (by my increasingly forgetful DH:eek:)...water more than likely got into the gas can, and DH never emptied it out. These motors do not like water mixed with the gas/oil mixture. So DH emptied the can, remixed the gas/oil and ran the motor in the garage...worked like a charm:rolleyes: When we close up for the winter, we have to drain and empty all pipes, since it's not winterized, including the water pump to the well. DH tried to get the bolt off of the pump, but the bolts were stuck so hard that he broke a monkey wrench!! He finally got them off, but we were worried that we wouldn't be able to drain it. We were relieved to get home...until yesterday. I'll continue that on a thread...needless to say, DH never got the wall finished... |
Hello everybody! :) I had to turn on the heat this morning! It was 62 degrees in the house and I was freezing! It only stayed on for about fifteen minutes but it felt good. Plus, I needed to make sure it was going to work before it got too cold.
Debbie, I do have a bread machine and it came with a cookbook/recipes. When I wanted to make hamburger buns I just googled "bread machine hamburger buns" and used that recipe. I tried making the 2# loaf the other day and it was just way too big. Too hard to slice and just overall too big. I make a 1# loaf, slice it and then freeze 1/2 of it. To defrost a slice I just put it between a paper towel and microwave it for about 8 seconds. It might take a couple more seconds once I turn it over but it defrosts just fine. I went through my closet this morning and moved all my summer clothes to the back and my Fall/winter clothes to the front. Some of them are now too big!! Yea!! I've got two 25" console TV's being stored in my closet. They both work and are in great condition. I even have the remotes! I was going to advertise them in our local paper in a "cheap stuff" section that's free. I could probably get $50 for one of them and $25 for the other. They're both less than 5 years old. But they aren't the popular flat screen kind. Maybe I'll just contact the local nursing home and see if there is anyone there who doesn't have a TV. I'm sure someone there would love to have one of them. Okay, I'm going to sweep out the garage and straighten up in there. It's just too nice of a day to stay indoors. Everyone have a great Tuesday! :grouphug: |
Heard back from nurse. She contacted my neuro since my pcp was out today. Could be a viral infection that is lingering, could be the tizantidine, could be due to another cause. He said to taper off the tizantidine which I was already doing and call them in a week or two after I am nausea free and we can talk about retrying it. I am suppose to contact my pcp if the nausea does not go away.

Barb, hoping it goes away.:hug:
Debbie, sorry to hear about the drama at the cabin. Sandy, hope Jim doesn't get sick.:hug: Kelly, congrats on the need for smaller clothes! :) Trish, glad you checked in! :) Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug: ~~~~~~ Went to visit the fur baby this evening. She's not out of the woods, but she at least is more responsive. And really not happy about being there, lol. But crossing fingers she keeps improving. Have a good evening everyone! |
:grouphug: for everyone!
It was a good day. We opened up the house, dusted, weeded out junk, and cleaned. However, I think DH is getting sick. I just hope it passes soon. He had a job interview for a new position yesterday... so stress tends to lower his immune system. Tomorrow the garage gets cleaned! |
Hello dear friends. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
Big hugs sent out to all who need them. I worked all weekend but had yesterday off, but with spanish class last night and tonight. The classes are getting harder so I'm pretty tired most of the time. I did manage to mow the yard yesterday though. I work early tomorrow so I'll be hitting the sack. :grouphug: |
Morning everyone...another beautiful fall day...wow, what a great week it's been!:)
Wiz, again...you're amazing!! Barb, how do you feel this morning? I got up around 5:30 am...ate breakfast then crashed, so I watched Serendipity for the hundredth time...I always watch it when I see it's on... now I'm up in DD's old room clearing out the closet. Still dolls and games, as well as a few prom/dance dresses. I'm going to make her take the dresses home when she comes here for a wedding this weekend...tired of seeing them hanging there when some girl could use them. I was going to put up shelves for my books...I bought a couple of white shelves with pretty white wrought iron shelf brackets...DH said when I told him, "I hate those things..." so I'm going to just clean off the shelves in the closet and put my books there, and take the stuff I bought back...what a kill-joy:( he did say after a couple of minutes,"It's your study, you can do what you want...sorry..." but now I just don't want to:( I still have a UTI...I'm getting like my MIL...can't shake the stupid thing...had me all upset after I talked to the nurse yesterday...I try to be fastidious about my hygiene, so I get cranky and frustrated when I get calls like that. Added to the stress with MIL, and I was one ugly b^%ch yesterday... Well, I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!! :D |
Morning all. Doing some laundry today, so exciting. Jim's fever came back yesterday but this morning seems OK.
Debbie, Jim takes Macrobid daily to keep from having UTI's and it seems to work. Maybe ask about using that for a bit? Barb, hope your feeling better soon. Wiz, you are on the go so much, I don't know how you do it. Kitty, I bet if you can't sell those tv's someone will and can use them. Be careful though, as soon as I gave mine away the boys took theirs and we had to buy a new one. lol I'd say save one for emergencies. Jenn, how's kitty today? Pam, enjoy the break in the weather. I'm going to get out this weekend and get the yard stuff cut back. Supposed to be in the 70's. Everyone have a good day and for those I missed, hope your doing OK. |
