I think it must just be one of those bad MS times. We seem to be in sync with each other. My spasticity in my rib cage/back has been driving me crazy and today my leg feels like a tree trunk. I just took two baclofen (20mg total). I have some left from summer when I was taking it everyday. I have never taken it this way, but I thought I would give it a try. It never really seemed to make any difference when I was taking 60mg a day. I may have to give tizantidine a try again since I am not really sure if it caused my nausea or not.

Hi all...
Trish, can you push the pedals with your left foot? Sorry to hear of your problems, and your dad's weakness...:hug: keep us up to date on both of you... Barb, I think all of us are having little upticks in our sxs...I sure am...but I'm still unwilling to call the neuro. I can handle it all by myself, thank you. Went to the urogynecologist about the stress/urge incontinence. I will post about it on the MS forum... Hope all of you have a good evening... |
:grouphug: to all!
Yes, I'm noticing an increase in fatigue and pain this Fall. For me it's the temp swings.. it's 40 in the mornings and goes up to 80ish in the afternoons. I'm good until that cool air hits when I get out of bed, then everything tightens up. Stays that way for a few hours, then the legs get mushy and wobbly as the temps go up. Can't win this time of year either! I bought a new laptop and am trying to transfer stuff from the desktop over. The motherboard on the desktop seems to have developed a problem...something causes the thing to shut itself off with no warning. It happens so fast even the battery back unit does not have time to kick in. We worried that it could be a fire hazard, so just decided to gut the thing and use some of the parts to build a TV media center computer. So I got an early Christmas/anniversary present!!:D Sandy, I hope Mom finds a happy place and can keep her focus there. Prayers still going up for her. |
I have five more spanish classes left. Did I say yet that I'm not taking another class? :o I'm beat! And this is harder than I thought it would be! If I could just sit down and study each day it would be different but I'm so tired I just don't study enough.

Wiz - I admire you greatly for taking the Spanish class. Learning a new language is hard, especially as we get older. I am not sure that I could learn a new language now (with the exception of Spanish as I took 6 years of it, so it would be a refresher course for me). Good luck with the rest of your class. Pam - That is cool that you used the other computer to build a media center. Not only is it a great idea, but I think it is awesome that you have the knowledge and ability to do that. Hi everyone else! I hope you all have a great day today!:grouphug: |
Pam, mom is in Valley View Rehab and Nursing center in Madison. It's a nice place and they are so good to her. We're not sure what's going on, complete 180. But sis has a meeting with all the staff today over the phone. Mom will be in the meeting too. This could get interesting. Part of me hopes mom will behave, but another part of me hopes she acts out so they actually see how she can get. They see her 24/7 but they haven't seen nor heard how she is paranoid or speaks to us on the phone. This is what they need to see because it will validate we're not making it up. Ugh, this whole process is exhausting. Say a little prayer.
My back deck is being stained. It doesn't match the fence but it is close so I am satisfied. The guys are really nice and I think all will work out. The guy in charge has cancer and is taking chemo. It started with rectal cancer and has spread to his lungs. But he said he has to work or he's afraid he'll go down hill. What an inspiration. Everyone have a good day. Jim's hanging in there. He's having the tight muscles too. I've been massaging and stretching him every night. to all of you going through the same. |
Hi all...nice outside again...wish it wouldn't end:(
Pam, you are so smart!! Kudos to you for utilizing all, and having the knowledge to do so!! Wiz, did you take a foreign language in school when you were younger? I find that when I hear words, the stuff I learned way back in the day comes forth from my rusty brain...but as for learning a new language, not sure it would happen...the RAM in my brain is dysfunctional:rolleyes: Sandy, let us know how the meeting goes...it's so stressful for all of you...hope you all get some answers as to a treatment plan...praying for you and your sis:hug:...and aren't you an angel for massaging Jim's spastic limbs...I need to get a massage therapist in here...DH is the most horrible massager (remember the episode of "Friends" where Courtney Cox' character is massaging Chandler and she's horrible at it? DH could have been the inspiration for that story line...). I got busy and cleaned up the house, except for the vacuuming...DH will handle that this evening. We're flying to DC tomorrow evening to spend the weekend with DS32 and his adorable wife...and we're going on a VIP tour of the white house...DS35 knows a staff member of Biden's who worked on the Obama campaign and he's getting us in...I am so excited...I just hope I don't cry the way I did when we visited Monticello a couple years ago...so embarrassing:o but I get choked up at all of the history... Anyway, DS30 and DIL are staying here to take care of not only my pooch but DS35's two dogs...lucky them...DIL is not a dog lover...but DS30 is, so he'll get his fix times 3;) Well, hope everyone has a great evening...it sure gets dark early now...and we set our clocks back in a couple of weeks:( hibernation time!! |
Well, they called the wrong number. They called sis at home and not on the cell like she asked them to. I think they went ahead with the meeting but we don't know what was said. They didn't call sis back and she is stubborn and wont call. She's visiting mom tomorrow so we'll see.
Deb have fun in DC. We were going to do that for our anniversary and get remarried in front of the White House but then mom came and everything was up in the air. |
Hi all ... remember me??:holysheep:
well, it's been awhile ... and I finally got moved 'up nort' ... and love it .. love the smell of wood burning ... and the coolness ... I also went to Michigan to the lighthouse festival last weekend!! it was great - going next year! been offered to rent a space for a quilt shop ... within the grocery store - and the cost would be 6 months rent free ... w/2 year contract ... sounds like it could work ... and as long as I stay calm and not get over-excited and stressed ... I should be okay ... your ideas/comments appreciated ... and it's only 5 minutes from where I live ... would take in artwork/consignment for those that are interested!! well, hopefully the shock wore off that I'm back - about the liver enzymes ... I changed my vitamins: take flax seed oil .. but the difference is VITAMIN E ... and my enzymes dropped to normal ... it was not the copax! I've also been able to drop 10 lbs ... oh - I did finish this 4x16 ft mural back in July ... another lettering job in August ... and ran into the guy from the Barn Dance from last year - at the one this year ... he seems to like me ... but, is very guarded ... probably can't absorb this wild-n-crazy woman from southern wisconsin that is excited about living up north .. and is making it happen!! sorry for blabbing on and on .. :Talkative: |
Hi VONN!! It sounds like life is moving right along for you! Question about the flax seed oil and vitamin E.. did you start them or stop them? I'm on Beta and my liver enzymes have been elevated..not too much to worry over, but still.... Blab on all you want...we read! :D
Sandy, I hear that is a good nursing center. I hope they can help her. I can't take the credit for computer stuff around our house... I married a engineer/nerd who loves tech gadgets. Together we learned to build computers and do some of the repair work on them. He could have worse hobbies! :p After today he may not have time for the computer hobby. His old job may disappear, so he has been interviewing just in case. This week he got 3 job offers and each has it's little pluses and big negatives. One requires travel and one requires us to move. Decisions, decisions... we both are just stunned that he got these offers all at once! Let's hope we make the right one. :grouphug: |
