Frank; just wanted add that you two need to take care of yourselves. The fact that Debbie has lost the amount of weight she has so quickly may have also lead to her drop in potassium.

Kitty 08-23-2008 09:32 AM

Good mornin' everybody. It's extremely windy here today and rained a little this morning but I don't think we're going to get much. Just clouds and wind.....my favorite weather!! Yeah, I'm weird like that. I love cloudy weather especially in the winter.

Frank, I hope ya'll are feeling better today. Gosh, Deb sure has to go to extremes to get a little break from you doesn't she?!! ;) BTW, I sent you a PM with the "good vibes" smilie!

Kay, I hope you have a blast on your mini-vacation!

Vonn, I sent you a PM with the little smilie attached!!

I'm going to a volunteer meeting for a "pet soup kitchen" this afternoon. Yes, you read that right! It's called Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen and it's an organization that tries to keep pets and their families together. Elderly people, people in the midst of foreclosure and/or eviction, people who just cannot afford pet food and vet care are among the recipients of the services. They take donations of pet food, vet care, pet accessories (cat towers, dog beds, etc.) and need volunteers to do just about everything (including provide foster homes for animals). Kevin's and his girlfriend Jessica are gonna go with me. I've signed up to do phone and newsletter work from home. I think it'll be fun.

That's about it for me today. After that outing I'll probably be exhausted! Oh well, at least it's exhaustion from doing something productive! :)

Ya'll have a great Saturday!

weegot5kiz 08-23-2008 10:10 AM

Just dropping in to say we made it home to Florida in 1 piece. New york was fun and long, glad to be home. We only had 11.61 inches of rain in the 3 week vacation I had, 3 1/2 between yestrerday and today. The drive home was treacherous from S. Carolina to Florida, windy and extremely rainy thanks to Fay.

So now its business as usuall, time to visit Momma and her gang.

weegot5kiz 08-23-2008 10:44 AM

glad you made it home safe. figured yall were back home, there was a run on duct tape at the the local stores, glad you had a nice vacation

sugarboo 08-23-2008 11:09 AM

Hi everyone!
Sorry I've still been mostly a lurker around here. It probably keeps me out of trouble :p LOL!!

Updates on me:

With all the rain and non-summer like behavior around here, Fall is already in the air here and I anticipate an early winter. I suspect we will have snow on the ground here in Anchor Town by the end of September.

With that snow will come my lay off from my seasonal job. I'm hanging in there for the lay off as I'll get a "Finish the season bonus". Not sure how much, but I've heard around $1000. This will be a nice boost.

School is just crazy to keep up with, but I've been managing my time better and sailed through several sessions and have caught up to the point I am only about a month behind now. YIPPIE!!!

The Alaska Permanant Fund Dividend (PFD) that is due in October will be paid out early this year so those who need to buy fuel for the coming winter can get it paid for and ordered. This year will be the highest payout on record. They are predicting $2100 (every man, woman and child who is a resident). For those who don't know, this is money all Alaskans get from our Oil wealth.

So then our Govenor decided that since Oil prices boosted the State's revenue, that she would pass some of the profits on to all Alaskan's to help offset the energy costs/food costs of living here. So she added another $1200 to our PFD (Every man, woman and child). So the grand total should be about $3300. The payouts are coming on Sept. 12th. Another YIPPIE!!

If you want to know about the PFD:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_Permanent_Fund

Anyway...with all the extra money we will get ($6600 between me and DH and that end of season bonus) I should be set for winter and school...at least for awhile :)

DD starts back to college on Monday and she can't wait. All the animals are well and I'll be celebrating my 13th Wedding Anniversary on Sept 2nd.

It's been a hard year, but I see a better future.

Best to all,
Jeannie

SandyC 08-23-2008 06:31 PM

Hi everyone! Man, I couldn't log in all dang day! I got a lot done though! lol Kind of makes me wonder if I do spend too much time here. lmao

Frank, tell Deb we're thinking of her and hope she's home tonight. Good grief, you guys do everything BIG don't you?

That's funny about Sonic. Jim has a gastro appointment Monday with a doctor who is booked to the gills. It's in Geneva so we'll head over to Sonic after the appointment. I wont bother asking if you want to meet up since your sick and all. :-)

Ok, so I scrubbed the countertops in the kitchen, threw away a bunch of junk and then polished the countertops. I also cleaned and scrubbed the oven top and finished two loads of laundry. Yeah, I think I get more done when I'm not online. But it's nowhere as much fun as being online right?

Take care everyone! I am off to finish the kitchen dishes and make a bowl of cereal for Jim and I. No cooking tonight.

barb02 08-23-2008 06:32 PM

Hi everyone! I have missed you all. I assume everyone has had problems with the web site.

It is pretty hot here today, so I have been taking it easy. I only went out to make a quick trip to the post office. Otherwise, I have been catching up on Project Runway, reading, and doing laundry.

Frank and Debbie, Hope you are both doing better. Did you mean avelox? I took it last winter and did not have any major problems with it -- just some mild nausea. But I did have major problems with cipro last month (stomach and intestinal).

Kay -- Hope you are enjoying your vacation. I did see that there is a tropical storm forming in the Pacific. Hope it misses you.

weegot5kiz 08-23-2008 06:32 PM

its so nice out right now, birds singing, sun freshly risen, a cool breeze reaching me through the window. I hope the weather dork is correct about todays forecast :Dancing-Chilli::Head-Spin::Dancing-Chilli:

Last night Deb said doc seemed pretty positive, deb is going to attempt some food, she was on clear diet, now theres a diet for you, I have been on that one a few too many times as of late at the hospital, when ice chips sound good ya know that diet sucketh. they shall see how she handles food and her potassium had come back pretty good shes closer to being normal than being where she was at when she arrived.:)

A sign you have been in hospital too much, the doctor :doctor:tells my wife :Talkative:to say hello to me from her :lookaround:lol

thank you everyone for your well wishes

Renee if you sneak a peak howdy:Wave-Hello:

I hope you all had pleasant dreams and your Sunday morn finds you well:hug:

barb02 08-24-2008 09:30 AM

Good morning everyone! Hoping that you are having a good weekend. Did everyone use their break from Neurotalk productively?:D

Sandy -- Hope you chose a different cereal for your breakfast this morning. I sometimes will have popcorn for dinner, but not cereal. And I use to have a glass of wine with that popcorn. So have you chosen a favorite on Project Runway yet? Where do they find these people?

Frank -- I hope that you and Debbie are on the mend. Has the hospital released her yet?

Jenn --- Hope you have a better day today.

Hi Tricia, Vonn, Kay, Renee, Sarah, JMiller, Weave, Lizbeth, and anyone else that I am missing!

I have to do some ironing today. I absolutely hate ironing. It is worse than dusting or cleaning the bathroom. Why I left this to the day before classes start is a good question. Wish me luck tomorrow. I have not been in the classroom since last December (on sabbatical during the Spring). Mondays and Wednesdays are going to be my long days.

SandyC 08-24-2008 11:23 AM

Vonn, I fixed it! lmao I didn't even notice I typed it that way!

Barb, I don't have a fav yet. Shoot, I can't remember their names yet either. That's never happened. Maybe I am getting burned out from them? I hope not!

I am cleaning more of the house today so you wont see me much. I'll miss you guys!

Frank, hope Deb comes home!

I spoke to Renee and she's Ok. Some girls tried to run her off the road while I was talking to her! :yikes: She couldn't get their license plate because she was trying to stay on the road. They ran when she ripped out her cell to take a picture. Sheesh, all because they thought she was going too slow? The literally bumped her van!

Hugs to everyone!

Vonn07 08-24-2008 11:48 AM

LOL, Sandy ... didn't mean to pick on your spelling ... but, it was sorta funny! :ROTFLMAO:

INSIGHT ...

enjoying the day - have finals to take this week (before thursday) ... then off until November ... working on figuring out a schedule to finish projects ... :Writting:

yes, yes - I'll get stuff posted here in my album one of these days!!:Talkative:

hope ya'all have a great day .. it 69 degrees with a breeze ... no humidity ... and I feel HEALED!! (okay okay .. I won't push myself to do too much - but gosh-darn-it, it feels good to feel good) ... :sunchair:

barb02 08-24-2008 12:39 PM

I did not even notice the "bowel" of cereal. I may have a problem grading papers.:o

weegot5kiz 08-24-2008 01:07 PM

neither did I till Vonn mentioned it lol howdy still no word on Deb, think they are waiting for her next dose of med and last blood sample

Vonn07 08-24-2008 01:11 PM

hey everybody ...

:Poke:did you notice that Sandy has a 'new' illness in her signature???

has this been a long time coming, Sandy?? is there a new cure for this 'communal Memphitis'??

SandyC 08-24-2008 01:29 PM

Vonn, it's cured with a new pill called BBAD and should be all cleared up by September.

Frank, hope Deb gets the all clear today!

Vonn07 08-24-2008 01:38 PM

WHEW ...

wasn't sure if I should 'cross-the-border' seeing that there's this new 'bug-a-boo' lurking!!

FinLady 08-24-2008 02:33 PM

Howdy Hi :Wave-Hello:

Hoping everyone is doing well today. I'm still not doing so hot, but can't complain. Actually managed to get some laundry done (of which hubby is grateful for, LOL) and need to make a quick trek to the grochery store. Otherwise tomorrow's gonna be rough, cuz we used up the last of our coffee this morning.

Frank, hope deb is able to come home soon.

Vonn, Love your "I'm ok" smiley icon. LOL, fits me to a tee. :D
