NaeNae 01-22-2008 09:01 AM

My update Slept last night thanx to the Ambien combined with exhaustion. Taking my son to see his therapist today, homeschooling, dinner, laundry. The usual!

tkrik 01-22-2008 10:22 AM

LOL, Renee, brain overload. I'm that way today too. Can't keep up with all this new stuff.

Well, I am cat sitting DBF's cat and am just loving her. The carpet goes in the rental today and so I have the kitty. She's going to stay with me until the weekend as she still has to stay inside due to her injuries. We decided it would be best because of the "fumes" from the new carpet.

I just love having her here despite her scratching on things she shouldn't, litter box and cat food smell. She can only eat canned food until her jaw heals.

Insight - she was hit by a car a couple of months ago and DBF couldn't get her out from under a neighbors car where she was hiding after the "hit." He went to find her in the a.m. and she was gone. She disappeared for 5 days and then showed back up on Sunday morning. Hurting, but alive. She broke her lower jaw and skull. Additionally, she lost the vision in one of her eyes. She's still healing and has to undergo surgery at the end of the month to remove the metal that was holding her lower jaw together. Quite amazing she is still alive. The vet is amazed that she made it.

How's everyone doing today?

Kitty 01-22-2008 10:31 AM

Aww Tricia, poor kitty kitty. I'm so glad she's doing better. Cats are amazingly resilient. You're so sweet to let her hang out with you while they are installing the carpet. Hope all goes well with her follow up surgery.

It's cold and cloudy here today. Weather that I LOVE!! I know, I'm strange!! :o

Everybody have a good day!! :grouphug:

You are not strange. It is rare that we get those cold and cloudy days. I love them too. I am sure those in Seattle would not agree with us though. LOL.

Cats are resilient. It really is amazing. When she came back that great Sunday morning, DBF's dog was trying to lick all her wounds. They are like brother and sister. They protect each other and yet they pick on each other.

barb02 01-22-2008 10:35 AM

I'm happy to see all of the familar names too.:grouphug: I am doing ok today. Watched the debate last night in South Carolina; today I need to do some work on research project. I am so sick of winter:mad: I am going to visit sister, the cutest niece in the world (she's 2), and brother in law in Austin, Texas in February for 2 weeks. I so hope the weather is nice.

NaeNae 01-22-2008 10:39 AM

Hey Barb! Glad u found us...my poli sci buddy! I too watched the debates, thought Edwards did better than I have ever seen him!

Tkrik-poor kitty!! Good thing he has good furparents!

Maybe you can thaw out a little bit. LOL. February here is usually pretty nice. Not sure about Austin but . . .

FinLady 01-22-2008 11:01 AM

Hi everyone :) So good to see so many familar faces :)

Had an early PT appointment this morning. I'm a little tired from that, especially since the snow made it an hour drive

Sitting here getting ready for work. Still wondering if it's worth it. Starting to see issues arising from my cog-fogs. Sigh. Doing my best to stick it out for now.

See you all later :)

tkrik 01-22-2008 11:13 AM

Oh (((Fin))). I can totally relate to what you are going through. Sometimes I am so on top of everything that I think, "Oh, I can go back to work now. Maybe part-time to start." And then, cog fog hits and then I get discouraged.

I am looking for ways to make myself more useful. Well, maybe that is the right term but I want to do more and am trying to figure out the whats and hows. Flexibility is key though. I mean who would hire someone that needs to take a 2 hour nap everyday - some days a 2 hour nap and an hour nap. LOL.

CayoKay 01-22-2008 11:30 AM

lol, TK, some days are just two-nappers, eh?

Finny, hang in there!

ok, NaeNae, we've got a deal... I won't post any pix of bugs.

mornin, Barb... I've got a bro and SIL in Austin too... small world...

Carolyn, when ya gonna post pix of the completed studio? can't wait to see it!

Vonn07 01-22-2008 11:47 AM

Howdy all ...

can't stay long - Stats quiz, tax papers, mail (OH, btw - did Santa get to some of your places yet?? even tho the trees are down??)

just wanted you to know that I'm around ... it's 6 degrees with SUN ... absolutely beautiful out .. tomorrow is a heat wave - into the teens!!:D

lots to go to the goodwill .. and making room! can't do much outside with it being so cold - but, a little at a time sure makes a difference!!

did I tell you that Phil grows herbs .. and we are joining ideas about making pot-pourri, sachets (that I'll make), herbal bags (for bathing), and oils ... funds will be put towards the quilt corporation for the kids ....

AND I may get the opportunity to be on the 'RESOURCE' site for the Blind thru the Joni&Friends disability organization .. will keep you posted!:winky:

SandyC 01-22-2008 11:48 AM

Hi all! Let's see, I was drinking coffee before I cam in here. Yummy. Looking at the 5 inches or so of snow I need to blow away today. Then maybe dabble in a little laundry and some med patrol. :-)

my gosh -- about 4 of us posted at the same time!! too funny ...

Annelee 01-22-2008 12:02 PM

*** you noticed, I am a smiley freak. Never seen so many.

Don't think I have ever given you all a Rudy Jr. Ct. animal sighting list. Doesn't even compare to Kay's zoo or ark, depending on the weather but here goes.A beautiful red fox strolled across our deck to scope out his territory, which includes the fire pit.

The deer take expection to the fox. I am sure the bunnies and squirrels are none to happy either.

3 deer were frollicking like little people in the snow yesterday around 5pm as the snow was falling. Never seen anyting like it.

2 cardinal pairs have nests in our evergreens.

The most deer we had in our yard were 13. Actually saw 2 bucks across the street. Neigbors in the area over 40 yrs have never seen that before.

C Y I have 2 to get pics 2 U? Like a mini forest outside our windows! :icon_lol:

resize the picture to the avatar size

then come back here, and go to "Edit Avatar" and paste in the link, or download it to your desktop (click and drag) and re-upload it.

it's hard the first few times, but after that it gets easier, I promise!

Renee, I thought Edwards did really well too. Starting to see poltical ads here in Illinois.

Tkrik -- Texas has to be warmer than here.

Going into my office at school tomorrow to do some work. I am goofing off too much when I am at home.

Going to make dinner now -- chicken, artichokes, mushrooms, and red pepper with garlic, olive oil , and parmesean cheese over pasta. I hate just cooking for myself so I rarely do it. Anyone want to come over. Should be ready in about an hour.:D

shhhhhhhh, we'll just have to keep it our little secret that Muscovies don't quack, they just coo and hiss and trill.

Choco has 4 new ones, and Buffy has 9, and it is a joy to my heart to watch them chase butterflies, and run to the gate to get their share of whole corn and cabbage leaves.

and SOMEBODY laid two new eggs under the house (in the duck condos) so maybe we'll have more ducklings in 35 days?

hugs, and more hugs, to sarah and your little ones.

OUCH!! Quit shouting in our ears Sarah. We heard you. LOL.

Quacking and recorders and babies crying, Oh my. I wonder why the symptoms have been rough for you over the past few days. LOL.

Barb - Dinner sounds great! Be right there.

tkrik 01-22-2008 07:05 PM

Sorry, I got interrupted by a phone call and lost my train of thought. LOL Imagine that.

Ckepi - A shot of what? Whatever it was, sounds like it worked. LOL.

Sandy - Sweetie, you are in the heartland. The center of the US. Nothing would be far far away from you within the continental US, silly. LOL.

Renee - Sandy did make it sound pretty exotic. If you aren't "giggling" when you get it, share the details.

Kay - More ducklings. How cool. You will have to post pictures of them. It's almost spring time in the desert. Yup, that's right our 2 weeks of winter are over. LOL. Not really.

Glad you all seem to be having a good day.

FinLady 01-22-2008 07:18 PM

Well, I'm fluffing my new-found comfy couch. LOL. Need it after this past day.

I'm a little depressed and cog-foggy, so dear hubby is bringin food home. He's such a sweetie! :circlelove: He's having a hard time dealing with this stuff too, but we're slowly learning to deal with MS in our lives.

CayoKay, I will definately take some pictures of the completed studio as soon as I get a chance and post a few here for your viewing pleasure. It's looking awesome right now.

I bought a dorm fridge and a small microwave today so I can keep lunch at the studio:cool:. Now I need to find an affordable safe to bolt to the floor. I wish you could all come to my open studio and see the whole place. It's sooo awesome:Bow::Dancing-Chilli:
