hey Jenn - the sun is shining here now too - finally the wind is down and it's actually nice to have the windows and door open for fresh air! just so I don't start cooking in here, I'll be okay ..

did I tell you that I was asked to paint a sign for the American Legion ($400) .. will start that after the Memorial weekend ..

finished a Packer table runner ... yes, I'm getting projects DONE and trying not to start new ones ... will be sending this one out by the end of the week - I'll get pix on my camera ... almost done to bring it in for processing .. someday, a digital for you guys! LOL

Sandy - thought of you yesterday as I picked up the 3rd (or 4th) season of HOUSE ... so, while sewing yesterday - it was a marathon HOUSE day/night ...

now... to go to school and keep that going!

Good Morning to everyone! Man I need to get my eyes checked! I've seen this thread 100's of times but this morning I read it as Daily Insults! :eek: I knew that couldn't be right! LOL

It's already hot and humid (87 heat index) here so today is a good day to catch up on posting some pictures and emails....besides I think the a/c needs some company! :wink:

Hope y'all have a great day!

:grouphug: Susan

Daily Insults...rotflmao!!!

Curious 05-20-2008 11:12 AM

sandy, do you know if there is a woman's club on the base where renee is at?

there was a very active and supportive one in san antonio where a friend of mine's X husband was stationed. they were the only she help she got when he pulled the same kind of crappola.

SandyC 05-20-2008 11:19 AM

I don't know Curious. I am floored at how they are blowing her off. They said he didn't lie and was honest to his command. That is not true, she has the note left on her fridge to prove it. The only thing is he typed it so they could say he didn't do it. I hate what she is going through and his command seems like the type that wants to protect the soldier rather than be fair. She did speak to a Colonel who is in another command and he said they forced a soldier back home when he pulled that. I wonder if this Colonel is on her caller ID? He could jump command and/or get involved possibly.

Renee- Still keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there.

Suzy - That is too funny.

Sandy - Glad things are starting to look up for you all.

Vonn - I seriously don't know how you keep all these projects straight. As you know I have been doing a lot of painting. I have all these designs and ideas running around my head like crazy. But I force myself to slow down and only do one at a time. I think it is great that you can do all of that and admire that greatly about you.

~~~~
I think we're in for another hot one today. YUCK! There were parts of the desert that were around 113 yesterday!!!:eek: They are predicting a very hot summer and I am not thrilled with that prospect. The weakness, spasms, and fatigue has increased a lot over the past few days and it is all due to the heat. :mad::(
So, today I am going to stay inside as much as possible. I went to sit outside for my 15 minutes of vitamin D, coffee, and prayer time and couldn't tolerate it; had to come back inside after what, maybe 2 minutes.
Vonn07 05-20-2008 12:09 PM
Tricia .. thanks .. but, unless I have 5-10 projects going at the same time - I'll get bored!
I break up my day into hour segments ... probably how I 'blew out my stress brain cell' with my MS! LOL
now, I get to work on the things I like to do, paint, quilt, school and making things for others ... that's what all life is all about, right??
remember, I have no kids, no family ... just me - so I have to make it on my own the best I can, and I'm making it up like I did before MS .. but NOW I have a doctor's excuse! LOL
Kitty 05-20-2008 12:26 PM
Tricia - I don't know how you tolerate that heat! If it gets above 85 degrees here I just fall apart. But, our air is so humid and yours is a dry heat, right?:rolleyes: To me - heat is heat - but I know humidity makes it worse.
We're supposed to get thunderstorms here this afternoon. Maybe that will cool things off. It's in the high 80's today. I know that doesn't compare to 115, though!!
My son just called - he's working today and they had a high speed car chase and the four occupants bailed out and ran in opposite directions. They caught all but one of them - Matt said he had to chase one guy through a briar patch and now he has cuts all over his arms. I told him just let me have five minutes alone with that guy in a small room and he'll never think of breaking the law again!! :p
Renee - I keep you in my thoughts and prayers every day. I just hate it that this has happened to you and your kids. Hang in there.
Vonn - can I have a little of your energy??
I just realized that this upcoming weekend is a holiday weekend. Anyone have any plans? :)
Vonn07 05-20-2008 12:34 PM
Kelly - It is a dry heat and it does make a difference. The sweat evaporates before it gets to your pores. LOL. 8% humidity. I would take the dry heat over the humidity any day. I don't think I can tolerate the humidity that you have. During our monsoon season it does get humid before and after the rains hit and it is horrible.
However, it is a blazing heat. Meaning, there is very little shade. The sun just blares on you making it seem even hotter.
Hey Vonn, can I get some of that energy too? I know it is "renewalable" and you can generate some more. LOL.
You also have an awesome attitude about doing things for others. I have been doing my paintings for others. Heck, you would think my walls would be full of paintings but, they're plain and white. LOL. It makes me feel so good to do things for others like that so I can totally related.
