tkrik 01-23-2008 08:26 AM

Carolyn - Smart idea about the frig and microwave. Please post pics when you get it all done. I would love to see it. I wish I was closer so I could go to the big opening.

Alyson - Sorry you're already having a rough day. I hope things get better for you.

~~~~~~~~
Well, DBF's kitty is here and running around this morning going nuts. LOL. She's such a playful little thing. I thought cats outgrew this phase. Guess not. She's such a cuddler though. Every night she jumps on DD16's bed and cuddles with her and then comes in my room and cuddles with me. She just purrs and purrs.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Kitty 01-23-2008 08:54 AM
Tricia my oldest cat (Gracie) is 5 and she still get's crazy at times - although not as much as she used to. She's the cat in my avatar. She's huge - weighs about 23 pounds!!
I think the younger one (Tigger) gets her going. He has more energy than she does - plus he's about 12 pounds lighter so I'm sure that helps!!
They just get a "wild hair" sometimes and race around the house - sounds like a herd of horses! :D
MSCherokee 01-23-2008 09:11 AM
Today isn't too bad...so far. It must be full moon syndrome or something but it's been the strangest week at work! LOL Lots of laughs and joking around, which I live for, but there's a tension in the air as well.
Looks like the next couple of weeks are going to be nuts at work and may have to do some OT. Not looking forward to it and hoping my ON cooperates and fatigue is kept to a bare minimum. A little ticked that we have a supposedly full time employee who probably hasn't worked a full week since she's been here. So...the others - read my supervisor and myself - have to pick up the slack. Sigh. Oh well.
I really need to get back to work - yeah, I'm at work :wink: - heading off to the coffee pot.
Hope everyone has a great day!
CayoKay 01-23-2008 09:23 AM
lol, my kitty's REALLY old (rescued, had her for a decade, so we're not sure, maybe 15?) and she STILL tears 'round the house like she's on CRACK!
here she is, perched at her favorite birdwatching spot:
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/1...atv3919jd3.jpg
we brought her to Belize overland, a week's drive, and she's a happy kitty, but we don't allow her outside at all, since she wouldn't know what to do with a tarantula, or a boa constrictor.
here's your morning bit o' amusement, to cheer you up, Alyson!
Maggie on her nest:
FinLady 01-23-2008 11:06 AM
Kay, love the pics of your animals!
Aly and Sarah, (((HUGS))) sorry you're not feeling good.
Carolyn, getting the good pins and needles waiting for your studio to open. :) Hope it goes well!
~~~

If I missed anyone, sorry. It's a foggy day for me. LOL.

Got work and see the knee doc again. Hope he's still impressed with my knee's recovery from falling off the motorcycle. :cool:

I'll leave the plate of donuts and cookies for you all to munch on. :) Have a great day everyone!

NaeNae 01-23-2008 11:16 AM

hey everyone! I missed donuts??? I ahd an early docs apoointment and now am way behind in homeschooling...so hitting the books now!

Kitty 01-23-2008 12:17 PM

Kay,

I LOVE the pics of all your animals! I would so love to live in the environment you are in - looks like a tropical paradise. And being able to have all those "critters" - well, it would be paradise for me!!

Thanks for sharing them with us - let us know when the bunny has babies!:winky:

SandyC 01-23-2008 12:51 PM

LOL

You will have to patient and wait to hear what Renee gets in the mail. Gosh, I hope she likes it. I talked with the powers that be today and they are adding a little sumthin' sumthin' to it.

Just got off the phone with my oldest who couldn't get his key to turn in the steering wheel. He was freaking out. After about ten minutes it started. It has a locking thingy on it so I had to walk him through it. He was about to lose his cool and that would mean breakage...haha!

OK, so on the agenda today...do some laundry, wait for UPS to pick up an envelope for the mobility place and pay some bills. Dare I say I will also exercise a little..if my body remembers. LOL

NaeNae 01-23-2008 01:01 PM

OMG shhhhhhhhh :Demonstration: now that is one word we need to ever mention! the E word!!!!

Bergie ate a postcard? :Starvin:

Waiting on mobility place to call me too so I know when to bring my car in for the lift placement.

Olivia wants to go back to see the wok woks today sigh!

SandyC 01-23-2008 01:33 PM

Haha...she did eat the postcard or the cat took it somewhere.

FinLady 01-23-2008 04:18 PM

Yayyyy! That's what I'm talking about!

barb02 01-23-2008 04:43 PM

Did some work at my office today and went out with a friend for lunch (Mexican restaurant). Just checked the not to be named web site. I am not sure what being on tv (music show?) has to do with MS so I emailed the board to ask. I am reading a new book called [I]The Doctor's Wife[I] It is described as a psychological thriller. So far it seems a little strange. Plan on watching Project Runway tonight.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Does anyone take magnesium for spasticity? I looked today at the drugsore but the only kind I could find had zinc in it, and my neuro told me to stay away from zinc.

NaeNae 01-23-2008 06:19 PM

WOOOOOHOOOOOOO Fin you have been officially cleared to do the snoopy dance with me again!!! :Dancing-Chilli:

Barb- yummo Mexican I shoulda came too! I love thrillers but sometimes the cog fog just won't let me go there! Not sure about the magnesium...let me know for sure if it works though as my spasms are horrible!

Now waiting on goodies from Vonn and Sandy and my mom the mailman is getting sick of seeing me running out to greet him LOL!

Vonn07 01-23-2008 06:25 PM

OMG ... packages already made it to Illinois, NC, Pennsylvania & Ohio ... even Riverwild got hers up in Maine!! they all got theirs already! I can't remember all that was in your package .. I know mice for sure!! LOL

CayoKay 01-23-2008 06:35 PM

Finny, glad your knee is recovered... that's wonderful news!

Aly, hope you're spazzin' settlin' down a tad... geez, I *hate* that stuff!

Von, didja send ME a pkg? :cool:

my update, power failed for 4 hours today, so I got busy moving some stuff into my almost finished house... like the bathroom shelves contents.

tomorrow's the BIG DAY for me, our Residency appointment in the Capitol city of Belmopan... hope it goes well, and we get approved...

it's going to be exhausting, schlepping around, so I'm taking my cane, and wearing my AFOs, and trying to keep a positive mindset.

wish me LUCK, guys! :)

Awwwww, today is 26 years Jim's dad has been passed. He woke up in the wee morning after a bad dream. He can't remember the dream but it woke him up around the same time his father passed 26 years ago. So sad. He's playing war games on xbox to get his frustrations out. He said no matter how long, it's like yesterday.

Vonn07 01-23-2008 08:50 PM

Sandy ... I feel for you and Jim ... it was 13 years last monday that my mom died in my arms ... she was at peace (57) ... but, like Jim says - it's like yesterday! it's a good thing to remember those we love, and those that have gone ... but they are always alive in our hearts!!

tons of hugs!! :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Blues Girl 01-23-2008 08:54 PM

Hi Guys!! It's so good to see everyone here! Sandy told me about this site last night. Needless to say, I haven't accomplished anything around the house today! I'm going to eventually have to tear myself away from here to get some things done. :laptop:

Have a good evening all!

SandyC 01-23-2008 09:04 PM

HI Tara! OMG, I keep saying that and yet here I am! LOL

Vonn, some say that if you speak of those who have passed it keeps their spirits alive.

Vonn07 01-24-2008 12:11 AM

YEAH!! Tara!!! we're still missing Shannon (sliMShakey) .. didn't get her addy for the quilt/fabric exchange!!!

I am making some goodie packages ... and cards yet!! ... took my Stats quiz - think I did pretty good on it!:Red eyes:

FinLady 01-24-2008 07:54 AM

Aly, at least your DH finally got to see what you were talking about concerning the blazer yesterday. Hope things are looking up

Kay, Hope the residency meeting goes ok for you today

Sandy, (((HUGS))) for Jim. I still miss my mom, so I understand that.

Renee, I've been a little behind, but I'm hoping something else will show up your way in time for the b-day. ;)

Tara, Glad you found NT. :)

~~~~
Thanks everyone for celebrating my knee recovery. :)
Last night, DH and I went to dinner to celebrate the news about my knee. :) We went shopping for a little while, and then came home to relax since I hit the wall last night.
I had bad dreams last night, so I'm begging my usual morning cup of coffee to wake me up. Since I know I didn't get enough rest last night. At least it's almost the weekend. :)
Have a great day everyone.
NaeNae 01-24-2008 09:43 AM
Pushes coffee towrds,Jenn, here might as well have some more donuts too!
Sandy-sorry to hear Jim was up all night My father died at 2:53 March 27th ,1991. You just never forget do you? Give him a big hug from me,and tell him next time call me and we'll talk about sports and not let you join in LOL!
I hope it gets past your hubby...lol
tkrik 01-24-2008 12:04 PM
Good morning everyone! Well, at least it's still morning here. LOL
Aly - Glad DH got a chance to see what was happening with the car. Now he knows huh?
Sandy - Sending hugs to Jim. It's so hard on us when we lose a parent.
Vonn - You busy bee. What activities do you have planned for today.
Fin - That is great news about your knee. Yes, a celebration was in order. I am, however, sorry you had such a rough night. Here's some more coffee . . .
Hi Blues Girl - Good to see you. Yes, I need to tear my self away from here too. I have real work to do.
Mommy - Sorry little one gave you a hard time and is driving you nuts. Subways in Miami would be nice. But, Subway sandwiches are good too. LOL
~~~~~~

Finally made it to my parents for coffee this morning. I haven't been there in quite a while. I never made it over there last week. I just got home and I have dictation to transcribe so while it is downloading I thought I'd pop in here real quick.

I'll type and then nap and then . . . Who knows what this afternoon will bring.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Vonn07 01-24-2008 01:13 PM

morning ... uh, afternoon ... LOL

well, Tricia ... I finished up 7 more UFOs last night (you may get one!, other than Sandy - everyone got one ... I'm working on a set for Sandy&Jim!)

let's see - going to class here shortly for an hour to read, then work on projects .. I find patterns I like - then change them, so .. I'm having my coffee and figuring out how to use up some FQs to make quilt tops for my program ... AND for the craft show in March!

did I tell you?? I've been asked to participate in a craft show with my goodies - and I don't have to be there ... so, I'm making towels, pillowcases, and runners for the show ...

in the meantime - school and taxes ... clean out the back room to make room for my knitting machine - so I can make slippers for everyone for Christmas!

keep smiling!! :)

Blues Girl 01-24-2008 05:48 PM

Renee ~ That made me think of the movie TORA, TORA, TORA! LOL

Von ~ You're quite the busy little bee!! That's great news about the craft show! Congrats!!

Jenn ~ Hope the coffee did it's trick. I didn't sleep well last night either. My behind is dragging today!

Tricia ~ Sounds like you had a great morning!

Sandy ~ How's the laundry coming along??? lmao I'm going to start mine right after this post. I don't know which one of us hates laundry the most!!

Not much going on with me right now. Just getting further behind on all of the house junk. Woohoooo!!! I'm off to do my laundry!!:rolleyes: I'll check in with you girls later this evening. Hope everyone's having a good day!

tkrik 01-24-2008 06:04 PM

Vonn - Yippeeee! That is great news about the crafts show. I am so happy for you. Please post pictures when you get some of the things done. I would love to see them.

Ummmm Blues Girl and Sandy - I dread laundry!!!!! I have to go to the laundry room which is up the hill so I need to carry it up the hill with wobbly unsteady legs or up the stairs. By the time I get there I'm exhausted and sometimes turn around and carry it all back down the hill. Then I got a little cart to wheel it up there per the advice from my mom. She's a smart cookie, that one. But lately, I have DDs carry it to the car and we drive it up there. DBF, bless his sweet heart, hooked up the w/d at his rental house and we did it there last weekend. That was really nice.

SandyC 01-24-2008 06:13 PM

Tara, I came back! LOL I did pack one suitcase, Jim's urostomy stuff and Beta shots. I washed the pilows and have a load of towels started.

TK, your DBF sounds like a keeper. Now if you could get him to come and get it, wash it and bring it back...lol

NaeNae 01-24-2008 06:39 PM

Yall I must have some serious cog fog going cause I don't understand half the holy sheep I read on here today........

First Vonn-what is a UFO? I mean I know what a real UFO is but what are youuu talking about......

Tara- It took me 10 minutes to get the Tora Tora Tora! reference.....aren't you too young to remember that movie? LOL P.S. A friend of mine has one of the original Japanese Zero's that were used in that movie.

Sandy-make it past my hubby? Now I am curious!!

Mailman came empty handed today :( bad mailman!

And now possibly something from Fin...I'm gonna pee my pants waiting for that man to deliver something! LOL

CayoKay 01-24-2008 07:35 PM

thanks, NaeNae and Finny... just got home... looooooooong day!

and all it was was filling out another FORM, while this guy asked SILLY questions, like "Why do you want to live here?" and "Have you ever engaged in any criminal conduct?"

um, do traffic violations count? :D

and I wanna live here because land and homebuilding are less expensive than where I came from!

actual answers, "No, Sir!" and "To fulfill my dream of having a little farm in the country."

and they questioned me and my husband separately, lol, to see if we gave the same answers?

:p

I'm so tired I could sleep for a WEEK!

tkrik 01-24-2008 07:57 PM

When do you find out Kay? Is it a long process like the US?
