Just wanted to stop by and say hi to everyone. It's a warm 70 here but storms are on the way. So far it's been a good morning, actually had some fruit with my breakfast, popped the pills and did some stretching....my best friend from TN called...dh is taking me shopping for clothes tonight (my valentines day present)....the blahs seem to have stayed in bed today and I'm feeling pretty good! I hope everyone else has a wonderful day and all goes well...stay warm and safe!

it's 11 am in Belize, and 82 degrees already...

GIGI69 02-12-2008 12:43 PM

It's a balmy 78 in setx

today, but a cold front is moving in tonight. Should dip to 38 tomorrow and continue to get colder until Sat when it goes into the 20's. I know that compared to other parts of the country that's not bad. It is the swinging back and forth that is hard here. It will probably be close to 80 again next week.

NaeNae 02-12-2008 12:59 PM

I'm with GIGI this swinging is killing me 80 one week and yesterday it was 35! not International Falls cold but 35 is Damn cold for a southerner!

Glad you made it ok barb have a great time!

Vonn-seaglass is old glass that has been out to sea so long it is tumpled until the top two surfaces are worn away and has a pretty crystallized sugary look to it.

So Kayo whats the temp in Belize right now?

CayoKay 02-12-2008 01:25 PM

12:18 pm, and 83 degrees.

the day is warming slowly, with a light breeze fluttering the leaves...

got half the laundry folded and put away, and packin' a few boxes to move into the main house.

got one eye on the HUGE pot of tomatoes cookin' away (canning tomato sauce) and keepin' the OTHER eye on the 9 ducklings traipsin' after Mamas Buffy and Choco.

also watchin' a giant iguana preening and posing on some bags of cement in the yard, and I'm waiting for the chickens to spot it, and then, "Let the CHASE begin !!

it's a gorgeous day here in Belize, and I'm ready to curl up in the hammock with Anne Rice's novel The Witching Hour... smack dab under the ceiling fan.

nap-time is the BEST part of the day!

:D :cool: :D

Vonn07 02-12-2008 01:44 PM

hmmmm ... I just might have to come out to Renee's this summer .. that sea glass would look awesome on my lighthouse yard-art cutouts ... see! I'm always thinking!!

I did come to realize that when I do a large painting project - I add little deco's on it to give it a 3-D effect .. thinking that it's real (like brick, rock etc) ...

finished a partnership return .. and running copies .. also decluttered - and have one books of books and one of nic-nacky things ...

back to work for me!! LOL ... gosh - I love working for myself ..

OH - I 'may' be able to get a personal loan .. to put on an addition (to enclose the tin-condo) .. and put on a roof .. and have a more open-concept living area .. filling out paperwork and mailing it out tomorrow .. X-your finners!!

Kay - the warm air is pretty addicting .. thanks!!

GIGI69 02-12-2008 02:41 PM

I think Cayo needs some company

Let's all go on a road (ok airplane) trip to see her and bring the seaglass along. We can sit on the beach and make necklaces all day!

PolarExpress 02-12-2008 08:38 PM

I have to agree that the temp swings are hard to deal with..But I gotta tell ya, this is the wonderful time of year where I'd even enjoy a day or two of 70 degrees, even if we had to go back below freezing for a while after that..I'm TIRED of being cold! :Sigh:
As for joining Kay in warm Belize, I think my mind has decided to go without me..At least I'm pretty sure it's not here with me..and not even a note to let me know.
Hope everyone's having a "Smurfing" week!

NaeNae 02-12-2008 10:23 PM

I Got A Hearing Date Yeeehawwwwwww!

Congrats!! :)

Just checking in real quick. Have to go to bed soon, have early doc appointment tomorrow.

Beach, seaglass necklaces, and margaritas! - I'm for that kind of road trip! :cool:

CayoKay 02-12-2008 11:13 PM

lol, it takes 3 hours to get to the beach from my house...

I'm *way* inland, where land is cheap, and ferocious bugs abound.

the tomato sauce came out great, but the laundry's STILL only half put away.

:D

but we can still sit on my screened porch, and sip margaritas.

:cool:

Jodylee 02-13-2008 06:31 AM

Today I'm getting my first Tysabri infusion and my mom is supposed to get her biopsy results back. ARGH! I'm a bit nervous LOL! I am a nervous laugher LOL. Can you tell??

GIGI69 02-13-2008 09:02 AM

joellelee2000 - Hope the biopsy comes out ok. Be sure to let us know.

Cayo - OK. Well at least we could tell everyone we went to Belize

A very good friend is coming into town. I can't wait to see her.

Have a great day!

NaeNae 02-13-2008 09:50 AM

Kayo you need to just come here I live 2 miles from the beach!

barb02 02-13-2008 09:55 AM

Hi everyone! Joelle, I am thinking positive thoughts for you. Hope everyone is surviving the cold:D I am getting a day off from my sister, niece, and brother in law. They all left for school. Anya (my niece) has given me lots of cuddling time and play time, but she has also given me a sore throat and cold. :thud: I guess it was inevitable. She also weres me out, but that is ok. She loves to read books for hours. I am not exaggerating -- at least not too much.

Found out on Monday that Clinton and Obama are going to be holding a debate while I am here and I would love to go. but they have not released any info about tickets yet. It will proabably to impossible to get in.

Hope everyone is doing okay today

FinLady 02-13-2008 11:04 AM

Joelle, Hope everything goes ok with the infusion and your mom's biopsy :hug:

Renee, hmmm. No passport needed. Can drive there instead of flying. Could I invade your beach too? :D

~~~
I posted my long Update of my appointment today on the MS section of the boards, but the good news is he thinks I'm still RRMS and that the Copax seems to be working.:)
Tired bunches, but have to leave for work here soon. LOL, so glad I have Friday scheduled as my day off! I'll probably sleep through most of it. :D
Hope everyone has a great day!
SandyC 02-13-2008 02:16 PM
Hi everyone! I updated in my thread about my mom. She is fine and the surgery went well. Joelle, I'll say a prayer for your mom.
Hugs,
Sandy
GIGI69 02-13-2008 02:27 PM
Hey SAndy
Good to see you back. I'll check out the thread on your mom. I've been thinking about you.
Kitty 02-13-2008 02:27 PM
Joelle - I hope things go well for you today with your infusion. It will be fine - I know it will!! I also hope that the news is good about your Mom. Waiting for these things is never easy. I've said prayers for both of you. :hug:
Sandy - I'm so glad that the surgery is over and that all went well. How long will she need to stay in the hospital? How are YOU doing? :hug:
FinLady 02-13-2008 05:44 PM
Sandy, That's great news! I'll check out your thread.
~~~~

Back from work and tired. One more day and then I'm off (yipee!). :D

NaeNae 02-13-2008 06:18 PM

Hey girl big hugs!!! I'm glad the surgery went well...I was gonna call you on your cell but figured you were probably burnt out!!

My update been thinking I was in a flare for awhile now and have been miserable today,thankfully my fantabulous neuro is coming in on her day off tomorrow to see me!

FinLady 02-14-2008 08:08 AM

Renee, Hope the appointment goes well. Glad to hear the neuro can meet with you. :hug:

~~~
Trying to wake up, but not doing too bad - except for a stuffy nose. I love this weather :rolleyes:
Nothing too big planned today. We keep today low key ever since our first valentines' was spent in the ER due to a car accident we were in. LOL, he's a little gun shy because of that. :D
Besides, my birthday's not too far after. When we were broke, it was always my b-day that got top billing. :)
:circlelove: Hope everyone has a happy valentine's day.
tkrik 02-14-2008 09:14 AM
Sandy - That is awesome news. I'll read your update thread
Renee - I'm sorry you are in a flare. I hope things go well at the doctors today.
Fin - This weather IS crazy.
Kay - Your pictures are great! I love them.
~~~~~

OK, I'm boring. There is no update. LOL. Other than I slept in way too late this morning. DD16 is rushing around getting ready. She missed the bus. She's going to take the city bus.

I had my "lovely" MRI this week. Thanks to the lorazepam and my intense desire to have them get the pictures right the 1st time, the scan when well. Head and cervical done in less than 40 minutes. I did NOT move. I didn't even want to swallow. This is not good disease for a claustrophobic. :o I get the results tomorrow at my follow up appt.

I hope you all have a great Valentine's Day!

Kayo- I would never tell u to quit posting pics I love them! Except the crawlies! Your little homestead looks so idyllic...but of course u have already warned me about the bugs!

Went to neuro....3 days of IVSM to start like I knew that wasn't coming right? Then did all of my paperwork to enroll me in the TOUCH program as I will be starting Tysabri!! Also have to schedule a mediport placement...I have no veins!

Hubby sounds kind of down in the dumps today...he said it has been a busy hard day at work :(

NaeNae, where do they put it?

is the installation done by surgery?

how big is the thing?

and how long do they last?

is it permanent?

I'm curious, because I too have $#^% for veins...

prettypearlgirl 02-15-2008 12:11 AM

Hi Everyone! This is a hit and run hello because I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off, LOL!!! I have been so busy that I can't keep up. I hope everyone here is doing well. I still have to post some pics of the studio when I get a chance. Sorry I'm so behind. I promise I will get them up soon.

Meanwhile, I'm heading for bed, so I maybe can finally clear this dumb cold up and get my voice back some. I'm sounding like the actress who played Momma from "Throw Momma From The Train", or is that "sultry", LOL!!

Carolyn:hug:

NaeNae 02-15-2008 08:28 AM

In case ya'll didn't know Sandy's boys go to the university in IL where the shooting happened, they are fine but definitely shaken up! Sandy posted it in her moms surgery thread. I wish I were there to help her out!!

I picked up my neckalce I made yesterday at the pleading of the shop owner where my stuff gets sent to..because some man was in there 3 times begging to buy it because he loved it and wanted it for his wife!

Ok, as some of yall know from last time I had roids....I had a horrible itching reaction on the back of my thighs,butt, and ummm girlie parts. So we medicated with loads of benadryl and slowed the rate down to over 3 hours. The rest of the 3 days went fine.....

Well last night the nurse didn't get here to hook me up till about 8:30 I premedicated with the benadryl...we started it over 3 hours....while she is still here my eye stars itching and goes numb....I'm thinking hmmmm...but blow it off. The nurse leaves...all of a sudden eye is really numb and I start itching in the nether regions again and on my sides....I go to the bathroom and took off my glasses.....holy freakin hell I looked like Kermit the Frog my eyes were so swollen!! I call the nurse she says let me call your doctor to see if you can have more Benadryl :holysheep: I'm already so zoned I didn't realize my eyes were bulging! She never could get my neuro and kept calling to check on me...by 11 I had had enough and disconnected the crap. She called me again at midnight to check on me and I told her I was DONE!! I took more bendaryl....and I itched all over all night.

This morning eyes are still swollen but not as bad, my head feels like it is splitting in two,my legs are shaking so bad I can hardly walk and I just left a message for my neuros nurse who lucky me is late for work!

NO MORE ROIDS!!!! :Demonstration:

Ok enough ranting!! Sandy I am thinking about you (((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Kayo-it's a little circular port they put under your skin usually above the collarbone you can take them out or leave them but they just stick the port with the needle when you need an infusion instead of a vein in your arm!

Update number two! My neuro just called me and thinks I must be the only person on the panet allergic to Solumedrol...I personally think it is too concentrated and that if they diluted it more I would be ok,but not going to test that theory! I just thought I was getting away from roids...she is putting me on a dose pack orally ( which I have never had problems with and we will try that instead) SHEESH I HATE MS!!! Gonnie sharpie MS sucks! on my forehead today!

I hope yall have a wonderful day though!!

:hug::hug::hug: Renee, OMG, so sorry to hear about the reaction to the 'roids.

Sandy, glad to hear the boys are ok.

Caroline, glad to hear the studio's doing well.

Kay, loved the pic of the pond with all the ducks on it. Thanks for the postcard :)

~~~~~
Have my cup of coffee in hand. Taking my time waking up. No work today! Yipee! :D
I'm going to meet a friend of mine for lunch. We make quite a pair. She has chron's (sp?) disease. I haven't seen her for awhile, and I hope we have a good time.
Afterwards I'm going to try to find a place that sells postcards here. Good grief, I've been not having luck with that around my area. Who knew it would be so hard? :rolleyes: I have searched and I have a few more possibilities to check out.
Hope everyone has a great day.
tkrik 02-15-2008 10:23 AM
Renee - Holy carp!!!! I do hope you start feeling better. I too don't do well with IVSM. I react horribly. I do mine over a 2 hour period with benadryl and still react. I too prefer the oral 'roids. I find out today if I need to start them.:o:(:mad:. I get the results of my MRI and that will dictate whether or not I do them. After reading your reaction, I don't want them. LOL.
(((Sandy))) - I am glad your boys are OK. I know that it must be tearing you up to be so far away. Hang in there.
"Sultry" Carolyn - I'm sorry you have the terrible cold that is going around. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Kay - LOVE IT! Lol. That is exactly how I feel some days. Now every time I feel that way I will remember this picture and laugh.
Fin - A day off!!!! Yipee! How fun. I hope you enjoy it.
~~~

Yes, today is the day I get my results from my MRI (1 1/2 hours). I'm hoping all looks good and no 'roids.

It is pouring rain today and it supposed to get cold with possible snow at the lower elevations. It was almost 80 a couple of days ago. Go figure! I wish I didn't have to go anywhere today as it's a "lazy" day.

This weekend I am going to try to do some work at the rental. We took a couple of weekends off and now need to get cracking. DBF is going to paint doors. I am going to work on the kitchen - finish peeling paint, clean cabinets AGAIN, etc. My pace has slowed a bit as I have minimal grip strength in my hand and my balance is a little off. If all else fails, I have a couple of paintings that I need to do for him to hang in the house to make it look more homey and inviting for when he shows it. Additionally, he wants a big one done for over the bed in the master bedroom.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hey all ..

I started a new thread "another moving dilemma" .. don't want to repeat myself here .. that's why I haven't been on much - trying to get returns done to get the $$ so I can keep downsizing and get rid of the storage unit before March now!

been looking for a place .. don't really want an apartment ... don't really want a 'low-income' place either ... just want to cry :sad-dollar:

I did dismantle my daybed yesterday .. to make room for the stuff from the storage unit ...

it's been so cold - didn't go outside yesterday .. loading the car with more stuff for the thrift store (going tomorrow) ... and maybe sunday start moving more shelving and blocks out of the unit.

trying to get returns done by then - been preparing about 4 a day ... and going to school ... next week is final papers and the following week FINALS ... then it starts all over again first week of march - I don't need to go to school to help others ... it's just that I needed the money - and now I'm getting an education on top of it ..

sorry to blab on and on :Talkative:
