good morning everyone and again thank you, had a rough day yesterday did a lot of soul searching, everyones reply gave me food for thought and i am doing what Jim did, trying to push deb out, without realizing sure i push her she dont have to deal with the MS anymore, but then her hearty laugh wont be heard as much, possibly. Or i might hurt and stop that caring and giving heart she has, so i do see pushing is not the answer, still sucks though.

thank you everyone for your kind and caring words, sure do like these friends i have gathered around me thanks

Hey everyone! Yesterday I trimmed my garden of weeds and wild flowers that were taking over. I watered all my plants and settled on the porch to talk with some neighbors. Jim busied himself with Xbox and some soldiers trying to kill him. haha

We settled in about 9pm to watch a movie. We ordered Untraceable and it was really good.

Today I plan to get my checkbook under control and search online for a new bed for Jim and I. We're thinking of the adjustable Sleep Number. WHY are they so expensive??????? I am hoping to find a no payments or interest for six months. I'll have the car almost paid off by then. Shuck and jive the bills, it's what I do. lol

Frank, I wrote you a nice long pm. haha

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful and peaceful Sunday as Sunday's should be. I love Sunday's. Although, when I was working outside the house, I hated Sunday evenings as that was the time we would prepare for the week ahead and those dang "Sunday Blues" of going to work the next day hit. lol

Sandy - LOL. I did that to Frank yesterday. Poor guy got slammed with long PMs. Sorry Frank. I know of a few people who have sleep number beds and they love them. I cannot afford one but would love to have one. I am a stomach sleeper with spasms that cause my knees to pull up. When the spasms are bad, I need a bed with more give. I have been using a fiberbed and depending on how I am doing I take it out and/or put it back on. Total pain in the neck but worth it. A sleep number bed you can just adjust the settings based on what you need. Those memory foam beds don't work for me. They are really hard to move around in. I watched my brothers kids for a week and they have one of these. 2 nights on that thing and I gave up and slept with my nephew in his bed. LOL.

I actually was talking to my mom about this last week. She suggested checking in to local manufacturers of beds to see if they make a sleep number type bed. Is that something that would work for you too Sandy? It may be cheaper.

Frank - Remember, no relationship is perfect. I would have a hard time believing someone if they said they had a perfect relationship. Denial would be the 1st thing to cross my mind. lol DBF and I don't have a perfect relationship. We have really good times, good times, average times, bad times, and really bad times. It is how we react and behave during each of these times that gets us through it.

Weave - Glad you were able to have your garage sale. Do you have Craigslist in your area? That too is a great way to sell things and it is free to post your ad. Plus, for the most part, it is all local and should someone want to buy there is no shipping as they can just come and pick it up. We go to the site all the time and DBF bought a like new microfiber reclining couch and loveseat for $400. It was only a year old. Great deals on that site.

Barb - hope you had fun at dinner last night. Did you have a margarita? It is summer now so fatigue and MS symptoms may be acting up more. I do hope it is only the heat and not something else. Take care of yourself.

NaeNae - What stores are you going to today? I just want to make sure I am not in those stores. LOL.

Wiz - When are you coming to my house to cook like that? That sounds yummy! I did not inherit the cooking gene from my mom. All my brothers did though. Have you ever seen the movie Mermaid with Cher? That was me when DDs were little. Hors d oeuvres. LOL. Dinner was entertaining at our house. LOL. Then I got a crock pot. That saved my little darlings from eating fancy cheese and crackers and star shaped sandwiches. LOL j/k (I can cook simple things).

Update: It is too dang hot and humid out in the desert to do anything. I woke up this morning, made my coffee, went to the fridge for 1/2 & 1/2 and there wasn't any. I forgot to pick some up yesterday. Out to the store I go early this am and man, it is muggy and hot. I guess I'll just have to paint today. All my paying working is done. 60 reports in 24 hours!

We're looking into another bed now. I read some horror stories on the Sleep Number beds having mold and mildew.

This is the bed we are looking at now. I sure hope they are cheaper than the Select Comfort. They are endorsed by the NMSS, hospitals and the BBB. Who knows? The guy is going to call us back in a bit. I'll update the price then. SAT BED

Well, we bought it. It should be delivered within three weeks. I am excited that Jim and I will finally be sleeping in the "same" bed after over ten years of two hospital beds together. haha

They financed 12 months no payments, no interest as long as we pay it up within the 12 months. Whoohoo! We can do that. They also told us to call the NMSS and ask about reimbursement for part of the bed. Apparently someone told the guy that they received some money from them after they bought a bed? I don't know but it wouldn't hurt to try right?

I also updated on Jim's update thread. The urologist called today and agreed with the VA for the most part. At least we know the VA did their job and no mistakes were made.

lol, San... you updated your update ? is that legal ?

that's great news on the bed. and the financing. AND, I hope you're able to get some assistance on the cost... that's make it perfect...

so, three weeks until better-quality snuggling for youse guyse, eh?

as we get older, the snuggling becomes the very best part of marriage.

I've cobbled together my own version of sleep comfort.

a really rigid extra-firm orthopedic Queen-sized mattress, topped with two inch slab of high-density foam... alas, locally-made sheets won't FIT the suckah, but the ones I brought from the US (with deep pockets) DO fit... so I hope my sheets last a looooooooong time!

the firm mattress gives me the "assist" I need to be able to move in my sleep, since I'm so weak... that way, I won't sink in, and end up sleeping all night in a bad position 'cause I can't move OUT of it. and the foam layer gives a wee bit of comfort to mi pobrecito esposo.

NaeNae, glad you didn't have to commit any mayhem dear...

it's fun while it's happening, but later, the guilt may sneak up on ya...

oh, that poor cutter-in-line-ahead-of-me's TOES, I should't've !!

Trish, hope ya had fun painting, honey. oh, and I nearly PEED myself laughing over Mermaids... alas, I didn't have that much personal style, but my HOUSE was just as cool 'n' funky and creatively (read, cheaply, with imagination) decorated.

Frank. good to see ya 'round, ol' buddy, ol' pal!

Wiz, good job with the planning ahead... sometimes MS is funny that way, 'cause we HAVE to become more efficient with our limited resources... hope the cake and the silk frosting comes out SUPERB !! and the party... oh... you brought moisture to my eyes for a moment there... my DD turned 29, and DS turned 25 back in March, and they're both so far away... *sniffle* so, I envy you deeply, and hope a lovely time is had by all.

Finny, hope all is well with you, babygirl!

LOL. That's my decorating style too. I have $2 pictures on my walls and of course, pictures of my family. Now, if I had the money, it would be decorated differently - transitional decor (contemporary/traditional).

As for the food, this is a true story . . . A couple of years ago when DD18 was dating her 1st serious boyfriend, she asked if he wanted to come eat at our house. He had been over several times before to eat. So, he asked her if I was trying out a new recipe - meaning, if she's trying out a new recipe no way am I eating at your house. LOL.

DDs also HATE sandwich night which happened often while I was working outside the house. But, I explained to them it was the best way to get all major food groups - protein in the meat & cheese, dairy in the cheese, grain from the bread, veggies from the lettuce, and fruit from the tomato. It's perfect. Apparently they don't think so. LOL

SERIOUSLY!!! LMAO! Man, I need to get out more. DBF needs me to get out more. LOL.

Thanks for checking in Sarah! I hope you get some rest soon.

Sandy - I'll go read Jim's update. I did post about your bed on the Adjustable bed thread.
