NaeNae, being a snail can be a GOOD thing, honey...
slow and steady wins the race! snails are self-sufficient, and carry their houses around on their backs. and some snails have beautiful shells: http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/1...aedit02rd7.jpg  |
Went to the ER yesterday during the afternoon. Felt like I was having an alleergic reaction again; started coughing, chest tightness, trouble breathing. Took a benadryl and then went. Vitals were fine and told I may have to wait 4 to 5 hours to be seen. Stopped coughing after a half hour and then signed myself out, went home and took another benadryl. Iw as not going to wait that long.
Went to my clinic today, pcp on vacation, and saw a nurse practioner. They gave me a breathing treatment and then she said I had a sinus infection based on my nasal congestion and fluid behind my ears. I do not think I have one. Went to the pharmacy to pick up antibiotics and they told me they may cause an allergic reaction (10% chance-- related to penicillin. I am expremely allergic to it). She also wanted to prescribe an inhaler for me but I said no. I am not wheezing. I feel like they are prescription happy sometimes. Just write a person a prescription and send them on their way. I am happy the pharmacist caught the prescription problem. Just heard back from the clinic and she said she was aware that it could possibly cause an allergic reaction, but they were running out of options. )And it was not that high of a probability.) I think this means cheaper antibiotics. I told her I was not going to take it, that I was not convinced I had a sinus infection (I think I have allergies), and that I would wait for my appt on Thursday with my pcp. The benadryl jsut made my nose really congested. I think the breathing issues are either related to allergies or ms hug. I already have the hug in my riib cage and back on a daily basis. She had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned it as a possibility. So I have had a frustrating 2 days, but it is beautiful outside. Sorry for the long rant! |
Awww Barb, that just stinks. You know your body better than anyone so do what you feel is right.
Hey everyone! How are you? I cleaned out my garden today, talked to some neighbors and also found out that my mom can no longer work. She can't specifically work at the factory nor can she drive. We need to see if her job has LTD and if not she needs to go for SSDI. It's such a mess and she is bummed big time. |
not long at all, barb!
lol, you should see *me* when I get a-rolling... and definitely not a rant. a thoroughly valid comment. geeze, I feel for you, it's a drag when some (medical) people give ya that "blank look" and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. hang in there, barb, and hope you're back in the pink soon. here's an EXTREMELY gentle  |
hi barb sorry your feeling like carp, of course hope you get to feeling better b4 your visit on thurs. try to hang in there, I know you have had some %#$%#$%#$ cards dealt your way lately will a  or :hug::hug: help any, hope you get to feeling better real soon
howdy howdy howdy, cayo what type of camera do you have? digital? but not a standard type your pictures are of such good quality, that snail picture is awesome everyone I hope you all have a nice evening and wonderful morn peace |
hey all ...
I should learn to keep quiet until things are said and done - I'm not going to move ... duh, no money to relocate and pay deposits ... oh yeh, would go on a waiting list for the Housing Authority voucher program ... and they'll get to me in about a year! have a paint job lined up ... and making stuff for the festival in Michigan in October .. I did tell you that I got in as a vendor for the 2008 Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival, right?? I'm cutting out (with my jigsaw) lighthouses ... like you see those cutouts of people or mooses out in yards? ... I decided to specialize in lighthouses - about 4-5 different cutouts ... and I can bring along quilted items too - so I'm making up totebags, runners and stuff AFTER I get all the ones that I'm already behind on ... taking my finals this week ... holding As now - but could turn with the tests .. then new classes start on monday ... I'm going to school to get some $$ to survive on, but not much ... I just don't know where I want to go, or what to do ... and I don't want to be here ... all I do is try to be productive all day and encourage myself - but it all is getting to be moot point ... just wonder why. remember that song by the Beach Boys/mama and papa's girls: hold on for one more day? ever since that song's been out, I've been holding on - it's been a long day for holding on, don't you think?:o well, I have 24 hours to edit this ... thanks for letting me splatter my guts .. :yikes: |
(((Barb))) I'm so sorry that you got treated poorly. I am allergic to many antibiotics and have experienced what you went through. I am glad the pharmacist caught that and let you know about it. Take care of yourself. Allergies can aggravate the symptoms. I take Zyrtec for mine. I like it better than the Benadryl. Sending you lots of cyber:hug:'s.
Renee - Hang in there. It won't/can't last forever. Better times are on there way. I promise. Sandy - I hope things start working out for you and your family. Still saying prayers for your Mom. Hi Frank! How are you doing? Is the flare setting down some? Kay - Thank you again for posting such awesome pictures. I always look forward to seeing them. Some day I would like to go to Belize. I have heard they have great snorkeling down there. (I don't scuba dive - too claustrophobic for that). Vonn - You are amazing! Despite the change in plans you still keep going and alter what you are going to do. That is incredible and because you are able to do this you will survive anything. The road may be rough sometimes but you will pull through.;) Hi everyone else. Hope you are all doing well. I've been spending a lot of time with all this family that is in town. I'll try to post when I get a chance. |
Good morning all :) Just did some bills this morning and sitting at the kitchen table with my usual morning cup of Java. The sun is shining, and a new day has begun.
LOL, things always seem to pickup at the office when the agent is out. Luckily home and auto doesn't have to go on hold since both me and the other girl are licensed to sell those. Between last weekend and yesterday, I was a couch potatoe last night. Snuggled on the couch with a good book and relaxed, which seems to have worked. Feeling a little better today. :) ~~~~~~ Barb, Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time with meds. There's a very limited amount of antibiotics they can give me since I'm allergic to one of the major ones. My allergies are in full swing too right now, so I have to keep an eye on the sinus' to make sure they don't get stuck in my lungs. Otherwise it turns into bronchitis, ick. Take care of yourself and feel better soon. Sandy, Sorry to hear the news about your mom. I'm sure that is nerve wracking for everyone, including her. Hope things work out. Prayers still being sent. Kay, Thanks again for the wonderful pics! :) That snail is so pretty. Vonn, Congrats on the grades, hun. Cool beans on being a vendor at the festival! Your ideas sound great! I'm sorry your not moving yet. Hope that things work out for ya somehow. TK, have fun with the family. :) Renee and Frank, hope things get better for you both. |
good morning everyone
Sandy:hug: sorry about mom situation Vonn:hug: don't preoccupy yourself into a flare, OK? promise tk, thats what i like about vonn too energizer bunny she is keeps going and going it does seem to be going away thanks for asking hope your is too  barb:hug::hug::hug: I am immune to most antibiotics so i can relate a bit to that problem, imagine Jim is also immune to some of the anti biotic out there also being on them all the time, try to have some faith and hang in there, and yeah I know this one is easier said than done:hug: everyone cayo fin sharon Renee Sarah hope you day goes well:hug: |
Vonn, have you looked into income based housing? Some places have one bedroom apartments, all utilities included for a fraction of your income. My mom may be looking into that. It's a tad different than government housing in some states.
|
Feeling a bit better today. Tightness in chest has eased and I am just stuffed up. Just received a phone call from my pcp and they changed my appointment to next Monday so I hope I am correct in my in my assessment that I do not have a sinus infection. They asked if I wanted to see someone else and I said no thanks -- I tried that already.
TK -- zyrtec is a good suggestion. I have some in my med cupboard. May try that once I am a little less congested. It's kind of interesting how many of us our allergic to various antibiotics. I went out and spent some money today. Retail therapy. I bought a new table and chairs for my patio and a lounger at Home Depot. And they already delivered them this afternoon and put it all together for me. There are some advantages to living in a small town.:) It is another beautiful day here in central Illinois and I have not felt an earthquake today. Vonn, Have a garage sale, clean out that storage unit, and save that money toward a move. Can your friends help with the actual physical part of the move? Sandy's suggestion was a good one regarding income based housing. I know we have several apartment complexes (some big; some small) in my community that are part of this program. I hope you can figure things out. You have mentioned taking classes. Are you working on a particular degree? Maybe you could get a part time position at your college? Just a thought. |
Retail therapy can be good. :) Just on my way to do just that, LOL.
Work's been busy, busy, busy. Hope the agent comes back from vacation soon, lol. |
Hello everyone. I'm kind of new here, but it's great to find a place where I can talk (and think) about something other than what I spend too much time thinking about. Happy Earthday! Opened the windows to let in some good air, (it smelled like rain for a while, yum). I also spent much of morning working on an art journal page about my niece's birthday.
|
Hi amyb! Welcome! Happy Earthday to you! I have decided to bye a Britta pitcher and try to cut down on use of bottled water. I am starting to feel guilty about using all of those plastic bottles. Plus, it would save me alot of money.
Barb |
Hi Barb, Nice name, my Sister's name is Barb.
Did you ever check with your Neuro about the tightness in your chest. I have it most of the time and it makes it really difficult to breathe. :Bawling: My Neuro told me it was due to spasticity, doesn't allow my diaphraghm to fully expand. :Hum: Could this be part of your problem maybe? Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Hope you feel better soon. Sharon :Wave-Hello: |
Hi Sharon! Welcome and thanks for the post. :Wave-Hello::Wave-Hello: I think my problem may be due to spasticity. If so, it is a new symptom for me in terms of placement. I already have this in my left rib cage/back and left leg. I guess I have something else to tell my neuro during my next appointment. Or it could be that allergies are affecting my breathing.
|
howdy all:Wave-Hello:

i am so sick of this illness i keep forgetting to post something for almost a week now arghhhhhhhhhhh
ok last week my son finished tenth in the state for the pc programming contest, which i can not express how proud i am that he got there let alone finish where he did, so needless to say proud dad here, but this is even better, they had a program to lock out the C drive to the contestants, as they did their test, ok makes sense, so as she was telling my son this lol within ten seconds he was in the C drive, and he showed the lady who was informing them, they were blocked, from the Cdrive, so she spent a few minutes with my son he taught her how he did it lol some day there is gonna be a knock on my door from cia or fbi and my answer is gonna be sorry no idea who that is |
well, Frank, if he can find a way to channel that geekiness towards employment, he can work his way through college like my daughter...
she does part-time work at Geek Squad, as a Special Agent. her computer talents actually were kinda scary-amazing, back when she was a young teen. now, she's getting her Master's Degree, at California State. PS: Frank, you're SUCH a sweetie, BUT... that's not my photo of the snail, I picked the prettiest one I could find, online, using google search images, then resized it on Image Shack, and stuck it here. go look at my goosie pix, every third one's blurry-as-SIN... MS is gobbling up my vision, GACK, help! :D:p:D PPS: congrats on your son's achievement, Frank. PPPS: WELCOME, Amy and Sharon! |

Good morning everyone! It is beautiful here this morning. After I eat my breakfast I am going to try to take a little walk aroung the neighborhood. Still stuffed up -- still believe that allergies are the cause. I can't take decongestants so I am trying to drink alot of water and using saline mist. they changed my pcp appt to Monday. He is out of the office for the rest of the week. I am afraid he is interviewing.
Frank, do you ever sleep? |
Time for a really big update.............
First welcome AmyB...thats what we are here for to just hang out and talk about anything...or not talk but just popping in and saying i'm alive! (As I have been doing recently) Second, thanks to all of you for your support and understanding....I have been reading the posts and know you are all going thru your own stuff too and my thoughts and prayers have been with all of you....I was just burnt out!! Ok hubby is on the mend, goes back to work on Monday (Thank you Jesus!) I love my hubby but when he is here the house is chaotic! Time for some quiet and a return to our regularly scheduled programming LOL! Mom has gone back home, she was a definite life saver! While home with hubby he called in for a medical review board...not for the surgery but for his sleep apnea...as we only have 6 years left in the military and want to complete them we both freaked about this! We have found a way to get out of it thankfully and will try when he sees his doctor in May as he does not need a cpap machine yet. Still not sure what the dates are for our move but someone told us yesterday that they are shooting for around July-August. sigh I still have not heard my verdict from my disability hearing. One good thing...as yall know my son has a LD and I have been busily this past month reviewing for and taking standardized tests...he did awesome....ranked in the top ten percent of the test takers and scored over an 11th grade level in most things! I told him see, just because he hastrouble getting things out onto paper and writing doesn't mean he isn't intelligent! Healthwise... I had "the hug" most of yesterday and today but otherwise I am ok...did have to start taking my stomach medicine more frequently and a higher dose...all this stress is giving me an ulcer ....go figure! LOL So there is my longwinded update! :Talkative: Has everyone checked out the new smilies? LOL alot of them are funny....this one is just wrong.....:vomit2: |

Try not to work those 70 hour weeks too long, I know you must be <grin> Take care and enjoy....was one of my favorite things to do at one time...hugs |
Frank, did I hear that someone was stubborn? LOL. Can't say much, so am I :)
My hubby's a computer geek too, and he loves the fact that he finally had an opportunity to enter a career he loves. Now he's one of a few at his company that knows some of the hardware out there. Keeps him busy, but happy. Hope it's the same for your son, whatever field he goes into. Sounds like one smart cookie. Oh, and it's always coffee first then shot, LOL. Gotta be awake before you stick a needle in oneself. :D Renee, Congrats to your son! That is great news!!! :Dancing-Chilli: So is the fact your hubby is doing so much better. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for the update. Sarah, Sorry to hear you have the new job kinks to go through right now, but hopefully it all works out in the end. Amy, welcome to the thread. :) ~~~~~~ A little late updating, slept in a little. Last night was more window shopping therapy than retail. Did get some new jeans at Lane Bryant, and they are comfy. But that was my big spending spree. :) The heat the past couple of days is really reminding me the reason I need to quit working. :thud: And it hasn't really been that hot! Oy Vay! |
mornin' Frank!!
it's a lovely *cool* day here in da jungle. sky's overcast, and it's dim under the branches. but as for quiet, no such luck, around here! right now, three chickens are loudly trumpeting their egg-laying prowess, and their Sultan-Roster is crowing proudly outside the nestboxes. two chicken mommies are in the Duck House (for safety) and their dozen chickie babies are chirping up a STORM !! the goosie-babies (Larry, Curly, Moe, and Connor) are busy weeding the garden, and although THEY are being pretty quiet, Auntie Glinda, and Papa Gandalf are honketty-honking and being their usual obnoxious selves. a big ol' group of twelve ducks is holding an important business meeting RIGHT under mah DESK, arguing about something crucial to world politics, by the sound of it!! "Hiss-hiss? COO! Trill trill!" a group of parakeets is doing a noisy swoop 'n' dive Air Show over the orchard (the mangoes are just starting to ripen!) and some Great-Tail Grackles are making a HUGE chatter-fest in the cashew trees (also ripening nicely) so, it's REAL freakin' NOISY at Chez Kay... but somehow, it's all okay, because it isn't sirens, buzzers, alarms, traffic, or jackhammers, lol. so, I am mellow and content, a delicious breakfast eaten, morning chores are all done, animals fed, bed's almost made, floor's swept, and I finished measuring and designing the new kitchen cupboards (fancy open shelves, with no dark spaces for bugs to hide, hard to keep NEAT-looking, but... better than getting stung by a scorpion, I guess.) hope y'all have a GROOVY day, kiddies! :grouphug::D:grouphug: (neener neener NaeNae... gotcha BEAT, in the "long-winded" category, lol!) |
Hey all! What a night. Bergie must have been sick and woke me up twice to go outside. I hope it's just a stomach bug but and not another UTI. Gosh, the vet is going to think I work there!
We made a decision about my mom. My sister and I just decided to go ahead and make it since the boys are in the "whatever you want to do" mode. Thank goodness she has daughters! lol Anyway, we decided to have her apply for anything and everything and see all the doctors she needs to see. Once all that is done I will fly mom up here and keep her until after xmas. Then we will fly her back down to my sister and she will keep her until everything has gone through. This means applying for ssdi, std and senior income assisted housing where my grandma lived. They have a one year wait list so this will work out for everyone. By staying with me this will give my sister and mom a break from each other and she will be able to go with us to her youngest son's wedding in September. Plus she'll spend xmas with us and her brother. So, that's the plan. Her doctor said she cannot work in the factory and so she is stuck right now. Both of her eyes are bad, she has seizures which they think are related to going off Dilantin too early and her memory is shot. She is eligible for STD with insurance but after that she doesn't have insurance. So, my sister will be fighting for the SSDI and/or state assistance. Hopefully that will all be taken care of before she comes here. It's the best solution we can come up with right now. Please pray all goes well. |
hello all and yes i sleep sometimes, renee tisk tisk tisk thank you jesus lol that made me laugh
hello jeannie how you be Sandy sounds like a good plan, we all took in my grams for x amount of time until we were able to get her housing set, it took a bit but we were able to do it and like you said she can get away fro sis for a while and you can have some input and also u can observe, who knows maybe you will see something others are missing, sorry about the jimbo in the poem was the only two names i could get to rhyme cayo and jimbo and even that was a stretch cayo your description was great i could hear all the noise everyone have a wonderful day peace:grouphug: |
Thanks Frank! I am sorry I didn't PM you back but I wanted to wait until I knew for sure what we were doing and what the doctor said about mom.
|
My sister in Iowa and I have "split custody" of Mom since my step-dad died.
Mom spends the Winters here in Arizona and goes back to Iowa and stays with her and her DH from May till Oct. This works well for all of us and Mom just loves it that she spends time with both of us. She will be leaving in two weeks so we are getting her things together for the trip back. We send some clothes, cosmetics, and meds back UPS because of luggage restrictions of two bags or extra charges. She gets a direct flight from Vegas so an easy trip to just take her or pick her up at airport and she LOVES flying. I got sun burned yesterday as I wasn't thinking (with the good half of my brain) and was laying out in 80 degree Arizona sunshine. Dumb Dumb Dumb!!! What's new with you? |
okay ... I'm better ... living with myself is a challenge sometimes - I'm not the best person to be around when I'm not feeling good ... and now it's been a year - always hurting! just got down on myself ... sorry!
finished one final exam just a bit ago :yahoo: - will take the other one later tonight ... been trying to do some spring cleaning - and have a backseat full, with my old microwave and VCR/w remote (both over in storage) ... all going over to the Goodwill in Marinette ... and for you Packer fans ... Brett Favre will be on David Letterman tomorrow (thursday) night ... here ya go, Janie :sunchair: |
Vonn, if you are moving...when and how far away from me??? let me know...
Hey I dont do 70hour work weeks...strictly 40 hours..as I am paid hourly...although these two weeks starting the place is on my mind more than the 40 hours...:holysheep: Anyhow, I might hire one or two ppl...trick is sales are so low..in this store...that hard to hire..but want to get two new ones in and trained in my way..... we will see....hugsss all, sarah oh I went golfing tonight with hubby...and we drove thru a small pile of snow...hehehe but beautiful day..hugssss |
Good morning all. :) I'm a little foggy this morning, lol.
Yesterday was a bad, bad day at work. Only the second time I ever wanted to just lock up the office and leave. Of course I didn't, but that just gives you an idea of what a day it was. :( I'm hoping that today will be better. The sun is shining and I have my usual cup of coffee. Keeping fingers crossed that it's not as crazy this afternoon as it was yesterday. :grouphug: |
Hey Jenn ... I certainly feel for you ..
since my last job 'let me go' saying that I didn't work with them, :Talkative: ... I found out how they treat people like cattle there! I still have friends there - and the other day, one called me to chat - and she was telling me all that they are doing and how she's actively looking to leave - you have no time for yourself!!! I was getting a stress 'attack/flare' just listening to her! glad I'm out of there! finished my 2nd exam around 10pm last night - but I think I wore my brain out towards the last hour ... :Writting: ... but should still pass (had a 93% to start and this was 245 pts out of 1000 for the final).... |
Hey all just finished homeschooling for the day whew! Long day cause I started late!
Sarah- I have no idea how anyone with MS could work 70 hours a week! And still be up and about!! Hopefully hubby is helping out with those kiddies! Vonn- feel better, congrats on finishing the tests! Jenn-sorry about the bad work day I had many of those before I quit working! Frank, when ya comin to visit huh? You and Sandy need to carpool down here before her mom gets there!! Sandy only wants her mom this half of the year cause she has yardwork plans for her! LOL She told me herself!! Glad you guys came up with a workable plan however I would at least make the bros kick in financially. |
