Thanks to everyone ... better today ... going to a friend's for sandwiches and to get out ... there's some white flakes zooming about - but not enough to keep me home!
Tricia .. that was a quilting group started by a lady that had breast cancer and was looking to do something that limited her to do other things .. and got her friends involved ... yep, they've made over 800 quilts already ... I cried as I watched that "person of the week" on Fridays ABC nightly news with Charles Gibson ... they are from Henderson, Nevada ... and thanks for thinking of me ... things will start coming together this next month or so... lots of legal paperwork to 'do it right' takes time ... and I need to finish up tax season. good news::: I may be able to get a position with the state of wisconsin: vocational rehab counselor (have to get my license to be a professional counselor) but they help with that .. and the starting pay (even for the 'in-training') starts over $35grand ... and I may have to move but, it would be worth it to work with others with disabilities and helping them to be employable ... catch you later!! |
glad you're feelin' better, Von!
 my update: it's a sultry day in the jungle, the birds are chirping up a storm, and the air is humid, heavy, and hot. the fans are going full-tilt, and the muggy weather makes me dread the upcoming summer. my guest is taking a nap in the hammock, and hubby is hammering something in the yard (I think it's new rabbit cages, we're expecting babies soon) and here I sit, happily stuffed from Easter tamale dinner, in my knickers and sports bra, having a hot flash, and nibbling a few M & Ms (arrived by mail last week, I'm makin' 'em LAST !!!) just fed the goslings their afternoon lettuce, and I *swear* they DOUBLED in size, overnight! and Maggie hatched four adorable ducklings for Easter Day... I met them over at my pond, this morning at dawn... but alas, my camera battery was toast... (it's recharging now, pix later, on Olivia's Wok-Wok thread) now, I'm gonna curl up under the fan, with my latest gift, a book by John Grisham, The Brethren... |
Von, do you get to move closer to me>>?? hehehee
great on the job that would be rewarding type of work...good luck... hey all...hugss and Happy Easter...had bouts of balance issues today, I almost cried in church..as I had to have my son hold the baby most of the mass, as I was feeling like I would fall over at any moment....uggggg anyhow...gotta run...even though balance is still somewhat off..I might try some yoga..some easier yoga....hugsss,sarah |
Renee - They actually made 2 of those!!!! LOL.
Vonn - That's where I saw it. I couldn't remember which is odd because I don't watch a lot of TV. I knew it wasn't 20/20 as that was not the topic this week. Wasn't that such a tear jerking clip. What a wonderful thing. Kay - Thanks for the reminder that that dreaded heat is on its way. See we don't really have spring. We go from 50 to 90 overnight and that's it. (Well, we did have 80's last week). I so hate the summers. Sarah - Don't feel bad. I fell today, hit my head, and missed mass. Dang balance. On the bright side, DS and DD got to bond during mass. That is special. Sending you cyber:hug:'s imbalanced mate. lol |
Hi Everyone! Sorry I've been absent a bit. I've been helping my SIL do his studio over. He rented one just three doors down from mine. I'm getting tired of painting and renovating between just finishing mine and now working on his. It's nearly done now with about three more days worth of painting to get finished.
I got sad news today. The woman I call my adoptive mother passed away this morning. It was her 87th birthday and she died. I knew that she would not last long once she went into the nursing home. She lost her will to go on and just wanted to be with her husband and daughter, who both died some years ago. At least she is now at peace, but I am sad that I didn't make it to Florida in time to see her again before she died. I am flying down in June to accompany my young nephew, who is going to spend the summer with his grandmother ( my sister). How strange is it that she died on her birthday! Guess some things just can't be explained. Carolyn:girl(sad)::Bawling::Sob: |

(((((((((((Carolyn))))))))))) so sorry to hear that! Thursday is the 17 year anniversary of my fathers death...you just never get passed it. But just think she was unhappy and had given up and now she will be in Glry smiling down on you!
And for you.....are you a glutton for punishment or what?! LOL I think you have "studio" fever! Keeping Olivia home from school for one more day..she is coughing her head off now...I go see my attorney on Friday and then my hearing is Tuesday.....Kayo you still got everything crossed? |
Carolyn, I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers heading your way.
Vonn, The job sounds cool, hun. :) Renee, Hope the meds help Olivia. Glad the kids still had fun this Easter despite it. Sarah, sorry to hear about the balance issues. Kay, so jealous that it's warm down there, LOL. I can send you some snow if you want. :D ~~~~~~~~~~ Saw my in-laws yesterday. Not too bad of a visit. My MIL seems to have mellowed with age, which is good. LOL, we did stuff ourselves with ham and potatoes. :D Not hard to do when they cook so much since they're Italian. My hubby over cooks for just the two of us too, LOL. Thank goodness for leftovers! Great invention. :D |
Renee, also crossing fingers for ya over here. Hope things get straightened out for ya

What do I have to do to be able to live there? Can I get SSDI there? What kind of work is available - what took you there - work or just the need to get away from the stress and hassle of life in the states? Your pics are beautiful and everytime I see one I just want to move there!! |
NaeNae: only my pinkies.
Finny: send snow! still got ONE guest left, and I am SOOOOOOO exhausted, I could sleep for a WEEK. :D:p:D |
 Carolyn
I'm so sorry for your loss, hon. You're right - some things just cannot be explained. She was ready to go home and be with her husband and daughter. We have to find some comfort in that. My Mom passed away two months to the day of my Dad's passing - and at the same time of day, too. Is that not amazing? Almost like they were planning it that way. Who knows.....all I know is that there are no coincidences... |
Kitty member we are only seein Kayos GOOD pictures...she's got nasty creepy crawly things there too!
OMG just noticed we are close to our 1,000 post, whoever gets there first gets a prize! So if you are number 1000 better make sure I have your addy! |
Carolyn - I am so sorry. I will pray for you and her family.
HK - Renee is right. We're only seeing the cute cuddly little animals that Kay sends us. Kay, reality check here - where's the icky critters? Remind us why we don't want to live in the jungle. LOL. Speaking of critters, scorpion season is coming up. YUCK! And, they are doing construction in the desert by my house which means all those scorpions are going to migrate! Oh man, I better stop now. Just typing this is freaking me out. Fin - I'm glad you had a good visit with your MIL. I am also glad you will have leftovers! I love leftovers! What time is dinner tonight? Oh wait, I'm going to Renee's tonight. LOL. |
LOL TKRIK Kayo doesn't post the icky pictures cause I made her stop! LOL really the only thing that bothers me are spiders...serious spider phobia..even seeing a picture of one gives me horrible nightmares!
|
She said, "I don't like spiders and snakes
And that ain't what it takes to love me You fool, you fool... I don't like spiders and snakes And that ain't what it takes to love me Like I want to be loved by you" (Jim Stafford - Spiders and Snakes) :D:p:D yep, they MADE me stop with the scorpions and tarantulas and boa constrictor pictures! |
LOL Post away with the snake pics I love snakes! Just NO spiders!
|
LOL! I'm with Renee. Snakes ok, but spiders - Yikes!
I've always been scared of them. I don't mind daddy longlegs tho. |
Carolyn, sorry about your loss....hugssssssssssss
hugsss all, sarah |
Good morning, all! The sun is shining and I have my coffee, LOL Supposed to warm up later. Just in time for me to go to work.
Per hubby, I had a rough night last night. Looking at my bed when I woke up this morning, it confirms what he said. But I slept through it. Oh well, chalk it up to one of the strange things that happens to me. |
ay-yup!
it were one of those nights for me too, Finny... I kicked the blankets on the floor, Turned my pillow upside down... I never, never did before.. Because I was tossin' and turning Turning and tossin' Toss and turn all night... :D got all my animals fed, and the bed stripped... now gobbling down a plate of scrambled eggies (collected from the hens at dawn), with tomatoes and bell peppers from my garden... and a steaming cuppa fair-trade fresh-roasted organic local coffee, YUM !!! today's going to be busy, I'm moving my little Belize message board to a PAID server (from a hokey ad-cluttered "free" site) it can be such a PITA arranging financial transactions (even online) from a foreign country. lol, like I'm a credit-card-number-stealing terrorist, or something!:eek::cool: |
Quote:
Kay & Fin - I'm sorry you both had a rough night. I hate those nights. Fin, you are right - you can always tell what kind of night you had by the way the bed looks in the morning. LOL. |

I have a bank account back in the US, which gets the auto-deposit of my SSDI. and I use my DD's address in California, for a mail drop. then, I use PayPal for online stuff, (and wire transfers to bring $$ here...) but *some* people get positively *itchy* because my physical address abroad doesn't match my mailing address stateside. then, I have to explain, and explain, and prove who I am. I'm grateful that they're all so vigilant about protecting my account from would-be thieves, but... ya think after THREE years, they'd not need me to explain every time. :D:p:D PS: Carolyn, I'm sorry about your loss... that's a hard thing... hang in there, honey. we're all with you. :grouphug: |
Sorry Kayo about your $$ issues...we had that too when overseas especially after our identity got stolen in Turkey and then here in WA state...we had a service on our cards that had to call us and question every transaction and the big 3 credit agencies had to contact us before any credit checks were run to make sure it was actually us doing it! AHHH foreign banking!
Olivia was hacking up a lung between 3 am and 5 am this morning, I am exhausted, I did however let her go to preschool this morning after missing since last Wed and she cried so hard I almost took her right back out...I'm wondering if I started her too soon :( Speaking of which I need to go so I can get ready to go pick her up...then I am am taking the kids to the library and then for ice cream! |
ohh, ice cream. YUM!!!!
Just sitting here relaxing before work. While I was getting ready, looked at my side of the bed. Can't believe how much I must've moved in my sleep last night! On the plus side, it was time to change the sheets anyways and they are half undone for me, lol :D |
hey everybody ...
trying to go slow today without upsetting my stomache ... tums don't help and don't want to eat anything ... but have lots to do ... stress? ME? LOL Carolyn  ... and keep up your strength!! don't wear yourself out! **UPDATE** we got more snow last night - but it's melting FAST! whew! I watch JEOPARDY almost everyday - and BELIZE comes up as the question alot!! and sometimes I even guess ... and feel so smart! (thanks, Kay!!) well, need to stay busy with school ... and I read the job description for the Vocational Rehabilitation Counseler (in-training) .. I'd still have to get licensing - but qualify for the majority of it ... even working with others and LEARNING about the programs out there (will find out for myself on friday when I meet with a counselor) ... be good everybody!! |
I haven't been here in a couple days, so I just looked.
Cayo, those geese pictures are cute. I saw my first Robins today (big thing in areas that get 'cabin fever'). I bet one was a boy & one was a girl :D ;) |
Well did what I said, picked up Olivia then took the kids to the library then we went for ice cream, one of our pilots of the F-22 Raptor here has started a demo team and he was practicing stunts so we sat outside in an area of the base we could see really well and watched him, then amazingly he came and flew right over our heads so low the earth shook! Olivia was clinging to me a shaking and screaming coooool airplane at the same time! Dayton of course will be worthless for the rest of the day LOL! He said it was like having our own personal air show. Now trying to get everyone calm so we can nap!

Hey everyone!
I just thought I would check in. I'm doing pretty well. I went into my office at school this morning and did some research. I am still using my cane less and less. Dealing with a bit of burning in my arm and a sandy foot for the past few days, but both seem better today. I am looking forward to summer and using the community pool for some exercise. I'll have to see how I do in the heat. Last summer was horrible, but the heat did not bother me when I was in Texas a few weeks ago. Renne, "Air show" sounds like fun. My two old niece loves flying and is always talking about going up in an airplane. She still occasionally cries when she goes to daycare (has been in it for over a year) , but has a good time when she is there. On some weekends, she sometimes says she wants to go to "work." Vonn, Hope your tummy feels better soon. I take nexium and it has helped alot. You might need something stronger than tums. Kay and Finn, I hate those nights too. I will sometimes play computer games in the middle of the night. I was shopping alot online during the fall in the middle of the night. But thankfully, I have stopped that. Bought 6 tins of cheese pretzels one night. Don't ask. It seemed like a good idea at the time. They were good. LOL |
Renee, Your own personal air show sounds cool. Glad the kids enjoyed it. :)
Barb, LOL. Thanks for sharing the dangers of shopping online in the middle of the night. :D Glad to hear you are using your cane less and less. Vonn, Hope your tummy is feeling better soon. ~~~~~ Have some time off from work coming up in the middle of April. Yipee! Hubby was complaining that I was getting burnt out and needed time off that didn't revolve around doc appointments. Hope everyone has a good day today! |
Vonn- feel better soon!
Barb- That online shopping can be dangerous LOL especially when you are bored! Fin-Have I told you lately we have beaches here? LOL April is just right not alot of tourists yet! OK I am convinced Olivia isn't ready for daycare yet...she was having nightmares for 3 hours last night screaming NO NO NO I don't wanna go, NO mama don't put my shoes on I don't wanna go. She is now staying home with me! Must get to homeschooling wanna lay in the sun and soak up some Vitamin D later! BTW in case anyone is wondering Sandy is alive and well, talked to her last night! |
Renee, Sorry to hear Olivia was having nightmares about preschool.
BTW, thanks for the invitation to the beach. :) Not sure what we might plan to do. Think hubby still has to work, but he was worried about me. I've been a little nutz lately. :Crazy 2: |
oh, NaeNae... I remember when I withdrew my daughter from preschool.
she cried and cried, because she got bonked over the head with a block, by some bully-boy, and refused to EVER go again! I can still remember exactly what she (at age 2 1/2) said: "No me WANT to, no me HAVE to, no me WILL, every NEVER!!" she turned 29 on Easter, and is busy getting her Masters Degree now, lol. Finny, enjoy your time off, honey... with NO doctor appts.! my update: DISASTER at my house at dawn. arrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!! a pipe broke over by the chicken coop while we slept last night, and the pump turned ON, and pumped out the ENTIRE contents of my underground cistern!!! so, I started phoning around, and found a guy who will deliver a truck-load (3,000 gallons) of rain-water. he'll be here in an hour... thank heavens. hope he has a nice long HOSE... the baby goosies are busy chomping down a head of lettuce, and a head of cabbage. one of my silly chickens is laying her eggs on top of the bunny house... lol, we need a LADDER to collect 'em. :D:eek::D |
Methinks something subliminal was slipped into that hose statement! LOL
Another exciting day at Chez Kay huh? I think Jenn needs to go out for Mojito's! |
Quote:
I am perfectly satisfied with my spicy Kielbasa, mi esposo's Polish Sausage. :D the truck is here now, pumping (down, girl!) water, and yes, the hose was JUST barely long enough to reach the cistern... YAY !!! |

:Wave-Hello: I'm here! I'm here! :Wave-Hello:
Been staying busy with spring cleaning. I am doing one room a day. Once that is done I will be staining my base boards and installing them. It's a job that should have been done already, like last year. I am sorry I have been absent. You guys did fine without me...lol I am glad Renee called me. It had been too long! I am off to the hairdresser today. I let my gray come in too much. haha Hugs everyone! |
my gray is in a skirmish with my dirty brownish blonde.
I think the gray's aHEAD, leading by a HAIR. :D |
this is too funny .... about the 'hair' thing ... I meet with Miss Clairol (104) tonight for my gray-disappearing act ... then to get it cut tomorrow!
YES, Sandy - I did miss you too ... I have all the cleaning products and vacuum cleaner ... but they just dont DO anything on their own! I just don't understand when they "say" they clean to a sparkling shine!! ***UPDATE*** hacking my head off - picked up some DayQuil and NyQuil today ... which is helping ... can't wait for spring .... just want to take the duct tape and plastic OFF the doors and windows! and get cutting on my lighthouses!! well, still busy with tax stuff ...and they are coming in on a daily basis still (some people are SUCH procrastinators) ... missed Jeopardy last night ... went to Luigi's Pizza Palace to meet with friends/tax clients :pizza:... would be nice if I had an appetite or could taste ... I dont even remember that I ate something or not ... :Thats-Funneh:no desire to eat (thanks MS!) well, better get going ... excited about this job position ... if it comes about - I'm moving ... but I'm not telling yet where I'll be going ... it'll be in Wisconsin ... and close to lighthouses and water ... that'll keep you all guessing for awhile!! |
Hi! I just received a call form a nurse in my neuro's office that I have tested positive for the presence of tysabri antibodies. I am pretty upset -- tyring to quit crying. They do want me to continue with 3 more infusions and then be retested because during the first 6 months of treatment they can be temporary and disappear. Of course they say they do not know what the long term side effects are of having antibodies and continuing treatment.
I do not know high my level was. Of course the doctor could not call me and tell me. I guess I will just go for my next infusion and see if I can find out more then. I have been thinking that my walking has improved due to tyssabri. Maybe I am just in a remission? |
