TK, LOL. I am trying to take it easy. I've been breaking up the project of my landscaping into pieces. One piece a day. So far so good. Taking a break from it today. Just too darned tired and the next step is just too much for today. ;)

Barb, Dustin's in my prayers. :hug: Hope you had fun last night.

Sandy, How did the concert go? Hope it was an awesome time. :cool:

Renee, hugs and prayers as always for ya. :hug:

~~~~
LOL, didn't wake up until about 10am today. So have my coffee and looking at the sunshine. Might do some fun and relaxing running around today. Muscles are a little sore so they need a break.
Not working has been rewarding so far. I feel like I'm accomplishing more on a daily basis - even if I have to pick and choose how it gets done. The tired I feel now is more physical than mental, so I'm actually sleeping better. :eek:
So hoping the weather stays nice enough for the landscaping gets done before I hug my a/c this summer. :D
barb02 05-24-2008 12:10 PM
Hi everyone! Had a good time playing bunco last night. We had 2 breaks and ate during each one. It was not a serious game. I ended up with the most wins and won a prize so I may not be invited back.:p
Fin -- I did not get up this morning until after 9:00 and I am still tired. It must be something in the air:wink: I am usually up by 7:30 at the latest.
Sandy -- It looks and sounds like you had a good time at the concert. Happy Anniversary!
Renee -- Still thinking of you:hug:
SandyC 05-24-2008 12:19 PM
I posted the pics from the concert and the ordeal we had before the concert on the Kid Rock and SandyC thread. It was a blast when all was said and done!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much fun and could do it all over again.
Today is a rest day to say the least. lol
CayoKay 05-24-2008 02:00 PM
first wave of company from Idaho, just gave them a farm tour, we had a nice visit, and I hooked them up with my contractor, so they can have help building their own house nearby.
and I feel REALLY good about helping to secure future employment for my contractor...
he's been with us for two years, and is practically part of our family by now...
he's been invaluable on everything from animal care in the tropics, to planting the garden, tending the orchards, and learning our way around a foreign country.
luckily, he lives only a block away, so we'll get to still see him, and his wife and 3 kids, but just not every day like before... I will miss having him around daily !!
second wave of guests was last night...
I spruced up the house, swept, mopped, and made everything lovely... was about to hop in the shower, and dress, when they arrived two hours early, LOL !!
luckily, everything was done, but ALAS, that's when I planned my NAP... so, I missed it.
dinner was wonderful, duck, roasted on a bed of tropical fruit, callalou (sorta like spinach), mashed potatoes, and sauteed carrots.
we had a GREAT time, and visited for almost 8 hours, before they returned to their cabin on the river, 20 minutes away...
they're from Florida, still working, and saving up to move here permanently.
the third wave of guests due tomorrow from Illinois, just a quickie tour, and snacks... no big meals or events planned... yippee !!
and the fourth wave will be early next week, another Floridian and her husband... she's kind of famous, having written a book about this area, and her time of living here for a decade, before returning to civilization...
I started corresponding with her online, and now that she's coming to visit, she squeezed us into her itinerary... it will be exciting to meet her and her family !!
the fifth wave will be more online friends, a couple who are planning to relocate here, and gathering ideas, researching and plotting their escape from the hustle and bustle, and their retirement into the jungle.
the reason I do this is threefold... first, contact with people from my former way of life is always interesting... there's things I miss, and things I don't...
I don't miss the "hurry-worry" and the noise and anxiety and freeways and bills, and waiting in lines, you know, that kind of stuff...
BUT... I *do* miss bookstores, and certain treats and sweets...
my guests often bring me treasures, like BOOKS, and CHOCOLATE, of the sort not obtainable here in this remote village by the Guatemala border.
also, many people helped US with invaluable tips and contacts, so, I'm "paying it forward" by helping others.
and, (last but not least) my husband is a wonderful cook, and he always works HARD to make fabulous meals for our guests... which naturally, I benefit from as well, lol !!
:) :cool: :)
I enjoy hanging out and discussing all sorts of things, and while it's good online, it's even *better* in person !!
NaeNae: still praying for you and Olivia... love and hugs honey...
Frank, Hope you're feeling better soon.
Noidy, Welcome and Hi. :Wave-Hello:
~~~~~~~~~~~

Those godkids wore me out, LOL! Three bundles of energy that's for sure. :D

Right now the weather appears to have gotten weird on us. The last I saw it wasn't supposed to rain today, but now they're saying we may get some severe storms. :eek:

Vonn07 05-26-2008 08:34 AM

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, SANDY & JIM

welcome, Noidy ...

had a wonderful time yesterday at the parade ... and then when I got home - the neighbor's invited me over for booyah .. had 2 bowls ... and burnt my tongue! LOL

took a quiz and submitted homework while the storms were going thru last night (procrastination at it's finest!)

off to another parade today ... absolutely beautiful today ... and can't wait for all the weekenders (flatlanders) to migrate back to their city-life! peace and quiet and almost zero for traffic after they leave!

saturday, I passed more cars on the 10-mile stretch of highway to go into town than I had all winter! oh, do I love the tranquility of life!

hey Frank-baby - hope you are feeling better and start to hang out more with us!! you are missed ...

hope all is well with Renee ...

howdy to Kelly, Sarah, Jenn, Carolyn, Kay and Barb .. and those that just pop in to say hello!

Kitty 05-26-2008 08:41 AM

Good Morning! It's a beautiful day here in the deep south. Should be right around 83 degrees today.

What is booyah, Vonn?? And I thought WE had some strange sounding things here in Georgia!!

I'm not venturing out today - too dizzy and can't seem to do anything with my right hand. Kevin's girlfriends parents invited me up to their place for a BBQ this afternoon but I doubt I'll go. Kevin will go but I'll just hibernate here in the house.

Both of my boys are taking me out to dinner tomorrow night - I have no idea where - they say it's a surprise. :)

Hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day......

Aarcyn 05-26-2008 10:10 AM

I wonder why there has to be the noise of gardeners at 7AM on a holiday? Sadly, it is all over the neighborhood because it is the homeowner's association guys. Ironically, I paid to have these guys wake me up...

This will be one of the last cool temperatures of the season, 100's are forecast for Thursday.:(

My DD wants to head for IKEA to shop for a quilt for her college dorm. I would rather wait until the time comes closer but she has such a busy summer of travel, she is probably smart to do it today.

DH will not be able to go with us, he catches a plane in the early afternoon. Has to be in another state for work early on Tuesday morning. He gets back same day as DD graduation.

DS and the nightmare girlfriend broke up. YAY. He has to move, put his stuff in storage and rent a room in an apartment.

His place was awesome, it is a shame we are not rich enough to help with his rent until he made enough to afford it himself.

He just got a job. He says he has everything under control. I worry anyway.

He did not listen to me when he got 2 kittens in April and now needs to ship them across the country to me. I am concerned that with my own 2 cats, this will create havoc in my house.

If it does not work here, I am going to put them in a no-kill shelter, pay $ for food/cat litter and hope that by the time he is ready to take them back, they are still there.

I think he is still in denial that I am not well enough to deal with stuff. Ah well, that may be better anyway.

Everyone is busy all around me.

SandyC 05-26-2008 11:12 AM

Hi everyone! It's cloudy here today but nice and breezy. I thought for sure those storms last night would hit us but we missed them by a sliver. Not doing much except hanging around around the house. Chris is off at a friends and Nik is leaving for UIUC to work for two weeks. Maybe we'll grill some ribs. My ice maker went kaput last night so I need to fix that. I woke up to water all over the kitchen floor. UGH.

I hope everyone has a relaxed Memorial day.

NaeNae 05-26-2008 12:04 PM

Found out today husband is busy changing account passwords for our bills etc,dummy didn't realize my email address was on the accounts so they sent me the confirmations. I also went around exploring today and he has removed some valuables from our home.

Did they send you the new passwords?

No and he just shut off my cell phone as well.

I know this is the LAST thing you want to be doing.....but it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep a time line journal of when and what he does. That way you won't have to rely on memory when you need to know something - you'll have it documented.

You might already be doing this but I just thought of it so I just wanted to mention it to you.

barb02 05-26-2008 05:17 PM

Renee, :hug: Can you get one of those cell phones that has prepaid minutes on it so you can use it for emergencies?

My update: Have not done much for past few days. I am feeling kind of down for some reason. Maybe it has to do with the colonoscopy I am having on Wednesday and the MRI which is scheduled for Friday. I hate doing the prep for the colonscopies. This is my third one. My dad had colon cancer. Missed the worst of the bad weather yesterday. Supposed to get some more storms tonight.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

DAY1 05-26-2008 05:47 PM

Renee, I'm so sorry he's doing this too you. I haven't said much, but I have been keeping up.

Pretty sad at what a first class A hole he's turning out to be. I cannot even imagine what you are going through. I get angry at him just reading what he's doing. I couldn't imagine living through it.
On top of that I cannot believe the military is allowing it to happen this way.

Do your bank accounts say Renee and hubby? or Renee or hubby?
It makes a difference. If it says "and" then he cannot do that. It takes both of you to do anything different on the account.

I would contact my attorney ASAP tomorrow. See what the attorney has to say about it.

Hang in there
DAY

CayoKay 05-26-2008 07:03 PM

aw geez, NaeNae, my heart *aches* for you !

:grouphug:

weegot5kiz 05-26-2008 08:11 PM

renee I am so sorry this is happening to you, and the g rated part of this site doesnt allow me to call him what he needs to be called, regardless, as a male I am ashamed to hear of such behaviors as this, I am sorry you are being hurt.

hope everyone is doing as well as you are able, kind of hard to be happy, thinking about what renee is going through its just rotten and low of him, my deb says she is sorry also renee :hug: I would like to add there are a few things i want to say about it all I just not sure if its my place, after you were so worried about him and his surgery I just cant believe anyone could stoop so low to hurt you like this, you can ask deb here I have said many cursive words regarding this, they say we are only handed what we can handle. Let me tell you I felt at times i was handed too much, I think one reason this is bothering me so much is because it is almost very similar to what i went through, back in 1990. Renee I prevailed for almost ten years on my own, robert my genius who just graduated my youngest, got his first bday card with two parents singnature when he was ten yrs old, when i remarried, my ex split when he was ten months old, it was hell at times but friends did help even with just kind words. you have my kind words, support, and prayers for strength when needed, you are in deborahs and my heart, dont hesitate,

peace folks

sabimax 05-26-2008 08:56 PM

sorry Renee HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I would do that log too..of when and what he is doing or trying to do....I would check the accounts too...depending on the names on them....good luck on it all...and HUGSSSSSSSSSSS

Frank, how you feeling?? hoping much better...I have had two rough days, humidity beats me to pieces...always seem drunk when humid...(although undx...funny drs will say...humidity doesnt affect patients with MS....)

Booyahhhh they use that phrase at McDonald's Management schooling...hehe....

Well not much here, weather is crazy...was up to 70s..now down in 30s with an actual frost advisory...my poor flowers must be sooo confused outside...

hugsss to all, sarah:)

Aarcyn 05-26-2008 09:14 PM

Renee - I do not mean to pry but how are your kids dealing with this?

SandyC 05-27-2008 12:16 AM

Hey all. I spoke to Renee and she's hanging in there. To answer a few questions...yes she has a lawyer and she knows what's going on and working her butt off to fix it. Two, the prepaid cell is a great idea! The kids are doing OK. Dayton doesn't ask about him since he knows why he left (read the note) and Olivia has asked about him twice. Once she called out for him in her sleep and once she went to the door and said "I don't know where my dada is." So sad. The bank account and all utilities are in his name so he can change things for now.

I do know the plan but feel apprehensive putting it here for fear someone may read it and use it against her. I am sure you all understand. I wouldn't put anything past him at this point.

FinLady 05-27-2008 10:21 AM

Renee, So sorry all this stuff's happening. Prayers going out for ya as always, hun. No details are ever needed. Just know we're here for ya. :hug:

~~~~~~~
Never got the storms they were predicting yesterday - so us, the friends, and the godkids went to the zoo. Lions, tigers, and bears - Oh my! ;)
Of course today I am paying big time for the past two days. Plus side, got my exercise for the week down in two days, LOL.
Now where did I put that coffee? :D
SandyC 05-27-2008 11:08 AM
Today's chore, clean bathroom and bedroom.
barb02 05-27-2008 11:58 AM
Getting ready to do the prep for colonscopy. :eek:I have had some lime jello and an orange popsicle today. It is humid and kind of cold here at the same time.
Hope everyone is having a decent day.
FinLady 05-27-2008 12:20 PM
Good luck, Barb. :hug:
Hmm. Jello actually sounds good right about now. ;)
hope you all have a great day!
maybe I can sell more of my table runners .. towels, etc .... ideas??
lor 05-27-2008 01:19 PM
This isn't whats happening today but since I was gone I couldn't talk for along time. I went camping memorial day weekend. Sunday I had an epileptic seizure. I walked to the showerhouse & the next I knew I had wondered into another campsite (I bet I had the sz when I left the showerhouse & was still a little 'out of it'. Then turned the wrong way.) I remember he asked my name & I just said my 1st name not my last. Next I knew I was getting in a park ranger's car with the guy too. We drove around looking for my 'yard'/site. They asked my name again & I still just said my 1st name. After a short time I recognised the decoration we put in the grass & told them "There it is!". I was fine by then.
The next day the guy walked by but I didn't remember what he looked like. My DH told me it was him. That happened with the ranger too, later on. I wish I could get in touch with that ranger to tell him thanks & to tell him some things about epilepsy & seizures.
Vonn07 05-27-2008 04:25 PM
oh, Lor .. sorry about what happened during your campout ...
why not write a letter to the dept of natural resources (DNR) ... and explain about your situation and where it happened ... I bet that they would appreciate it!
thanks sandy for update and agree with not putting info on here,
i was gonna blame you for the cold weather lol i couldnt do it i had air on yesterday i just couldnt turn the heat back on, like jeff foxworthy says you know you are from illinosi if you use the heater and air conditioner in same day:eek:
braingonebad 05-27-2008 06:09 PM
Renee - my son recently went through a divorce. I don't know about your state, but he was NOT allowed to leave her without utilities, change her/their accts, etc.
I would call him and tell him...
"I have called a lawyer and he says to let you know it is against the law to change our builling accts, shut off my phone - so turn it back on - or disrupt ANY of my utilities. You WILL be charged for all of this."
Even if this is not true it will stop him, lol.
And what can he do? Say you made the whole thing up? Tough Sh!! on him.
All you have to do is say lawyer and people stop being bozos.
NaeNae 05-27-2008 06:15 PM
Well I have an attorney working on it allon, and I have no communication with my husband at all he took off and won't answer my calls. Thanks frank for all of the kind words earlier and thank Deb for me to K? hugs!
