Junie - I do hope the week ahead is much better than the weekend. It sounds as if you have had a rough one.

NaeNae - I have absolutely no comment. :D:D You may not have shocked Frank on that one but you sure did me. LOL

Frank - Hot pink doesn't look good on my anywhere. It's just not my color.

FinLady 07-07-2008 08:49 AM

Good Morning all :) Sipping my usual cup of coffee and trying to wake up. The breakfast of champions, my hubby calls it. :D

This week is project week. :Writting: I wasn't on yesterday because hubby needed to run some errands before he left for his business trip. LOL, some stuff is easier to get through while he's gone. I'd rather have him here of course, but I'll keep myself busy (or is that distracted?) while he's gone.

But we had fun doing some stuff yesterday. Read through all the insights and a lot is going on. Wish I had the brain power this morning to respond to all of them.:Crazy 2: Maybe I should update after I've had my first cup?

:grouphug: Hope everyone has a good day.

NaeNae 07-07-2008 08:51 AM

That Frank you know he can't resist!

How bout something wild like purple! LOL

Well I have been up for one whole hour and I have made the kids breakfast and cleaned up, washed all of the quilts and sheets, did one load of laundry, gave the dog a bath, cleaned the playroom, and scrubbed the bathroom.....is it bedtime yet?

momXseven 07-07-2008 09:18 AM

Well I know I'm doing better now because DH and I have been taking the kids to Six Flags a lot lately (2-3 times a week most weeks) and I have been able to keep up. :D
DH and I went Saturday night alone and than told the kids for 4 hours yesterday, my legs are a little sore but not bad.
A few months ago I wouldn't have been able to do all this.

Vonn07 07-07-2008 09:19 AM

hey all .. it's just your homeless friend stopping in to give you an insight::

waiting for 'the call' from one of the 2 apartments ... the one in town (by the lake) would be nice ... but, I'm thinking of the one about 13 miles out into the country would be more relaxing for me ... altho, I'm getting the 'I'd be far from everything .. and if I need help or something' ...

still confused on which one to take ... so, I'm going with whoever calls first - and I can get into the soonest ... what strategy, huh??

have to jump into school now ... will have to really buckle down these first couple of weeks so not to get behind ... a bit stressful ... but, I'm okay..

hugs all around ...

p.s. yes - I've overdid it these last few weeks ... and I about 'crashed' on Saturday ... just on the verge of tears a few times ... :Bawling:

barb02 07-07-2008 10:00 AM

Good morning everyone!

Trying to wake up; I wish I liked coffee. Tea just makes me sleepy. I was kept awake most of the night by thunderstorms. It looks like it is going be one of those grey, rainy days. I am still fighting fatigue. I am going to give it a few more days and I am not feeling better I may call my doctor and try provigil. I have some samples here that I have never opened.

I figured out last night that watching food competitions on the food channel is not good for my diet.:rolleyes:

Hope everyone has a good week!

SandyC 07-07-2008 10:25 AM

Hi everyone! Just sitting here listening to the thunder off in the distance. It doesn't look like it's coming towards us. Those south of Lasalle stay safe!

We're going to do some laundry today and hang around the house. My awning is being delivered today and we need to help take it off the truck. It will help take the heat down on the back porch. Our bedroom is scorching in the summer because we have no trees or shade anywhere.

Have a good day!

tkrik 07-07-2008 10:32 AM

Good morning everyone!

Fin - Yeah, my brain is just taking it's time waking up too. I've been up for a couple of hours now and it still is going at the speed it should. I hope you get some of your "keep me distracted" projects done.

NaeNae - Mama and Papa must be so proud of you for doing all that cleaning. LOL. Of course, you exhausted me with your post. I feel like I did all that cleaning. :p

MX7 - A lot is an understatement. lol Don't the kids get sick of it? I am glad you are able to do this now. Things are starting to look up for you and that's awesome!

Vonn - I want to hear all about your A's with the classes you are taking this session. I am still praying that something works out for you SOON, my little vagabond. Suitcase living is not fun.

Barb - I'm sorry you are still fighting the fatigue. Sometimes when I get bad a Coke or Pepsi helps. Tea gets me too jittery and coffee does nothing - I just like the taste. I am sure the sugar in the Coke and Pepsi has something to do with it. Can you squeeze one in to your diet? Speaking of diets, you are right about the food shows. Although I am not dieting (I really should be though), anytime I watch those shows it makes me hungry and want to try those recipes. However, I am not Paula Deen! See my previous posts on cooking. lol. Hang in there sleepy head and let us know how you are doing.

Good morning everyone else. I hope you all have a great day!

~~~
No update here. We had more bad storms last night it is muggy out today (60ish% humidity - which is a lot when you are used to 8%). We are in our monsoon season and things got crazy a couple of nights ago as well as last night. Trees down and everything.:eek: DD18 called last night and had just left her friend's house and wanted to turn around and spend the night. Too much flash flooding going on. I told her that it was a good idea to just stay put. No sense in her trying to get home and hydroplaning all the way here.
DDs got their MACbook back yesterday. It is bittersweet for me. They now can catch up with all their friends who are all over the country as well as a few out of the country for the summer. However, it was nice when they didn't have the computer as they "did" things together. Sister bonding. It was great. I told them that they need to continue that and maybe plan 1 day a week that they set aside to do something together. They liked that idea.
weegot5kiz 07-07-2008 12:41 PM
howdy all
barb sorry you are tired,and food commercials are driving me nuts at night, i dont dare watch a food channel program, plus i am sure my meds are doing something to my appetite, it sucketh mucheth
Junie 07-07-2008 01:22 PM
Hi Guys and Gals,
I survived last night, the drunks all came in before 11 and passed out without incident's and the Law & Order are all reruns but I watch them anyway, just like right now:)
I love storms and rain even if it makes me hurt more!
SandyC 07-07-2008 04:20 PM
I love storms too Junie! I always said when I get another house, in Tennessee by the way, it will have a tin roof at least over my bedroom. haha
FinLady 07-07-2008 04:41 PM
Ah rain. :rain: They are predicting storms through tonight into tomorrow. keeping fingers crossed that it doesn't knock the internet out again. LOL - it would be my luck with the computer geek out of town. :rolleyes:
Waiting to hear back from my NMSS chapter to see if they have any volunteer opportunities coming up. Also talked to a nice lady who runs a support group in the area. She sounded really cool, so may give it a try next month.
Got some of the smaller projects done today, mainly since I had to make a trip to the grochery store. Hot and Humid, yuck! Have one of my big projects planned for tomorrow. Trying to remind my stubborn self to break it up into little sections so I don't overdo.
~~~~~~

Vonn, :hug: and prayers everything works out for ya. Hope school goes well this session

Barb, I never watch shows that have to do with food. I find myself with the munchies if I do, LOL :D

sabimax 07-07-2008 05:43 PM

Barb, I love that show on the food network..my daughter who is 13 got me hooked..wish it was earlier in the night..as now less rest..more tired out from work today...especially cause both little ones had tough sleeping nights...

Maddie had a high fever a bit ago...up to 103.4...then Ciara showed up with a wierd rash..that would be around her arms...then later clear and then on leg....like wierd..maybe allergic to something?? not sure.....

Glad I got all thinking hot pink and excited all hehehee

hugss to you all, sarah (who isnt hot pink lol at least not yet lol naaaaa not for me)

SandyC 07-07-2008 07:11 PM

Sarah, check Ciara for a tic bite. Sometimes they cause rashes.

I do remember Chris and Nik having a rash all over their bodies that came and went. The doctor thought it was from some strawberries they ate earlier. It never happened again though. Weird. Chris did have contact dermatitis real bad on his finger tips and toes. We finally figured out it was from Elmers Glue. He was somehow allergic to it.

I am thinking hot pink isn't for me either. Maybe a real pretty lavander color. hahahahaha

tkrik 07-07-2008 07:22 PM

Oh, lavender is pretty. Thinking, thinking, thinking . . .lol

Sarah, I hope both your little ones start feeling better. In addition to Sandy's suggestion, is it possible that both girls have the same kind of virus? Some viruses will do that as well.

It hasn't been as hot out and I feel energized, like someone switched a button to ON. LOL. I've been running around cleaning, did a few errands, now cooking dinner, checking in here, putting another coat of gesso on 4 stretched canvases, playing with the kitten, etc., etc. While it feels great, I know it is only temporary until it heats up again. :mad: But I sure am enjoying accomplishing things all at once instead of bits and pieces.

weegot5kiz 07-07-2008 10:57 PM

hello everyone,:Wave-Hello: interesting thought just occurred to me I have no idea what i did today,:Scratch-Head: I know I sanded for a little while.

think i went out and got a few things at hardware store, my brain is on strike, ok, more of a strike than normal, :hit-safe:

laying here watching space things on TV. and b4 any one says it what i am doing is not to be confused with spacing out at things on tv, thank you, :trampoline:

back to the lapse of what i did, any of you ever find yourself wondering, WTH did I do today? :Ponder:

pretty sure after this past weekend with me, waking up Deb and saying hey honey what did i do today, would not be advisable to my health:deadhorsebeat:

I know I put 78 dollars into my van after putting 20 in yesterday, its a monster truck mini van 4.37 a gallon went up from 422 this morning to 437 by 6 pm less than 10 hours price went up 15cents:yikes::thud::sad-dollar:

anyone reads this tonight hello and the rest who read it in the morn , then I be bidding you a good morning

sabimax 07-08-2008 05:24 AM

hey all,
Well I think rash subsided..I wondered about strawberries too..but even though we have some here I think she is the only child taht didnt eat any lol.....but seems to have settled down...

Maddie, however was hot hot last night kept creeping to 103.4 after meds would wear off....told hubby as I am heading to work to keep close eye on her..and the fever..otherwise she seems fine..jsut fever...

Frank...you cant recall what you did...cause you are stuck on the hot pink and now lavendar ideas..hehehehe (just teasing)

I hate when my memory plays tricks on me..and I draw a blank..someone other day asked me what my oldest sisters last baby was....(I have four sisters) she had a boy back 6 months ago....I blanked out...I finally said Girl..and hoped to heck she didnt ask for a name ..I was so embarrassed...
after I got home I called my mom..asking what did Laura have her last baby...she said...a boy...Vincent....oh geezz....called my friend and told her...and said sorry for the memory glitch....oh well..

hugsss all, sarah:)

NaeNae 07-08-2008 08:25 AM

Frank I ask myself that wuestion on an almost daily basis, along with the where the hell did all of my gas go question.....spasms where hella bad last night both in my back and my chest...was having a hard time breathing... took a bunch of muscle relaxers and ibuprfrofen to no avail...I am seriously considering finding a reliable medicine man.....finally took a sleeping pill laid on th heating pad and my mom brought me this pillow of hot popcorn that I held to my chest finally went to sleep about midnight.

NaeNae 07-08-2008 08:36 AM

Hey Sandy, in talking with you about the SAT bed last night....did you see if Tricare would pay for it? It says it is recognized with its own billing code by the gov't? Just a thought.

CayoKay 07-08-2008 09:05 AM

this isn't daily chit-chat, so skip it, if you want.

I'm angry, outraged, sickened, and frightened.

Donna and Mike Hill, an American couple who lived in Belize for 11 years were murdered on Saturday, several miles away from our home.

they were kidnapped, tortured, robbed, and shot, then left bound and gagged in the bush.

their truck, gun, computers, and payroll money was stolen.

the police have detained all their employees, set up checkpoints, and sent out patrols.

the US Embassy is involved, and the resorts have added more security.

everyone in the ex-pat community here is FREAKED out.

my stomach is turning, and my heart aches.

I can't sleep, can't eat, and can't seem to calm down.

paradise doesn't seem so peaceful now.

Kitty 07-08-2008 09:17 AM

OMG...Kay...how tragic! I'd be frightened, too. Please be careful. I hope you and DH are sticking close until they find whoever did this. What is this world coming to....? :(

sugarboo 07-08-2008 09:30 AM

Cayo...Be safe!! Hope they catch the murderers soon....

momXseven 07-08-2008 09:34 AM

Oh My Goodness Kay. I hope they murderers are catch soon.

tkrik 07-08-2008 09:37 AM

(((Kay))) I am sending up prayers for you as well as the Hill family. How scary for everyone.

There are a lot of people and groups that are anti-American. Quite honestly, I can see why. As you know we go to Mexico quite a bit. Its about a 4 hour drive to one of the beaches. The behavior of the Americans when they are down is appalling. They lose all common sense.

DBF's friend from Detroit came back for a visit and they decided to go to Mexico for old times sake. Little did they know it was spring break. The stories I heard from them were horrifying. The worst being feces spread on the walls of the bathroom by some jerk. They treated the locals horribly and with complete disrespect.

Since then, we have only been back there once. We now go further in to Mexico where the locals are respected and the Americans behave. It is a much nicer environment. Of course, very little of the locals there speak English so knowing Spanish is helpful.

Please be careful, Kay and check in with us as you can. Sending you lots of cyber:hug::hug::hug::hug:'s.

FinLady 07-08-2008 09:46 AM

OMG, Kay! Sorry to hear about that news. I'd be feeling the same way as you are. It's awful hearing stuff like that.:hug:

Frank, I've had days where I couldn't remember what I did or where I put things. Remember - I'm the girl who found a book in the freezer once. ;)

Sarah, hope Maddie's fever breaks soon. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning all :) Just trying to get motivated to start my project today. Didn't sleep very well, so truly begging my coffee to get me started today.
Hope today goes well for everyone. :grouphug:
FranksAngel 07-08-2008 09:49 AM
omg ... i hope you and hubby are doing ok ... please stay safe ... your an inspiration to me and i would hate it if anything happened to you or your hubby ... i hope they catch the bad guys soon ... still, you have to eat and stay healthy ... keep me posted
LOL. Fin. I have been missing my Leatherman for a while now. The last time I used it was when I changed the filter on the a/c. I know that right as I got done, the phone rang. I'll be danged if we can't find it. When I saw this post, I went to the freezer just in case I put it there. Nope, not there.
It is going to show up in some odd place. I just know it as we have not only searched but have cleaned several times since then.
My worst fear with losing things is that in an MS moment I accidentally throw them away. I don't know how many times I have caught myself throwing a fork away while cleaning plates and one time actually threw the plate away and started to put the napkin on the kitchen counter. DUH!!! LOL
NaeNae 07-08-2008 10:02 AM
Kay stay vigilant, don't do any unecessary travelling about for now...and stay armed! My uncle was captured by guerillas in Columbia, who left him for dead. Stay safe but try to stay sane too!
Vonn07 07-08-2008 10:26 AM
Kay .. my thoughts and prayers are with you for safety and comfort in this time!!:hug:
for me - my insight ... I"M MOVING ... got a place - sign the papers on Friday and can start moving THIS FRIDAY!!... it's in the smaller place out in the country ... and all has 'panned' out well ...
started the classes - there's going to be alot to do .. but, I'll take you to class with me - so it won't be so bad!!
barb02 07-08-2008 10:47 AM
Kay, I am so sorry! Please be careful. I hope they are able to catch those responsible for this soon. :hug:
Vonn, I am happy to hear that you will soon have a permanent place to nest.
Not much is going on here. I need to start working on my syllabi for classes in the Fall semester. Notice I said I need to... not that I am going to.:p It looks like we are going to be getting some more storms. I wish we could send some of this rain out west.
SandyC 07-08-2008 10:48 AM
Hey everyone! I think we're going to put up the awning today if it doesn't rain of course. I did my checkbook last night and it looks like I have a bit of money to my good. lol I wont add it until I know for sure. Other than that I am going to throw in a load of laundry. Jim isn't feeling right today, kind of sluggish so it's a low day.
Kay, please be careful. Jim spent some time down there while in the military and he knows first hand the anger some of these groups have towards Americans. You and hubby stay safe and on guard. Do you have protection? If so, please keep it near until they find these people.
Vonn, whoohoo! Vonn's got a house Vonn got a house!
Frank, just yesterday I walked into the kitchen and turned around wondering why I went in there. I asked Jim and he didn't know either. We are such a pair! lol
Sarah, I hope your baby's fever goes down. Summer fevers suck.
Everyone else have a great day and stay cool! It's going to be another scorcher here today. We can feel the humidity in the house. YUCK.
FranksAngel 07-08-2008 11:02 AM
good morning everyone :Wave-Hello:
just spent the last half hour reading posts from several days again when frank had a really bad day and was literally trying to **** me off so i would leave him... :hissyfit::icon_sad::frown::Soapbox:
thank you everyone for jumping in and telling him to knock it off ... he talks about how he wants to make my life easier ... full of fun .... going places and doing things ... all i want is for us to be together ... those things he thinks i want to do are not even on my mind if they involve being done without him ... i wish he would understand that ... yes i love to fish and horseback ride and camp ... but not alone ... alone just doesn't hold the same fun meaning to me ... watching a movie together ... playing a game together ... these things mean more to me now ...
i know what i am in for with this illness ... i am not going anywhere ... when i married frank it was for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and health ... not just when everything is going fine ... he makes me laugh ,,, puts a smile on my face ... something my own boys would say i didn't do prior to meeting and marring frank ... i just wish he wouldn't talk like he does ... i am NOT going anywhere
so, once again i thank you all for speaking up about this subject ... it has helped ...
thanks
weegot5kiz 07-08-2008 11:07 AM
hello everyone yes the freezer is the first place my smart @@@ kids ask me if I looked, dont ask I still dont get it.
Vonnie so glad you got a place, those suit cases can get so cramped inside;)
well I asked deb this morning had no idea i crashed out yesterday.
Now for the most important part, Kay I know you are smart and a person of principle, if these are left or right wing crazies, please go to the embassy please,
never thought belize was a hot spot for this, seeing its the cartles farther south, that pull this crap,
I am scared for your safely, you mean a lot to us. If we have to send you new duckies to start over, i rather that then the worse case. Please be careful, i hope those that did this are captured real soon, and if you can please check in each and every day on this thread or i will start a kay check in thread:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
SandyC 07-08-2008 11:08 AM
Your welcome Deb! Anytime he needs a good smack just let us know! lol
tkrik 07-08-2008 11:17 AM
