Sandy, :hug: Glad you made it home ok and that everything seems to be getting better. The description of your mom's bandage reminded me of learning first aid in girl scouts, LOL. The mummification process that happens. :D

Tara, good to see you back, and that the computer's back up and running. :)

Vonn, Glad to hear you had a good appointment with the neuro.

Kay, Your shopping day sounds like it was fun! Glad you found the tiles to complete your project.

TK, Congrats on the MRI! No change is good. :trampoline:

Renee, Sorry to hear about all the tests coming up, but hope it helps in the long run. :hug:

~~~~
Going to doc this morning. Combo get referrals and find out what I might have. :o Still not feeling too good this morning, but maybe he can prescribe something to help.
The referrals are for heart and bladder. I've had bladder issues for years now and my DH wants to make sure it's not "just the MS" causing this. Due to my reaction to Provigil, everyone wants me to get a stress test for my heart. Sigh. It rains and it pours. And I'm only 34. :eek:
Hope everyone has a great day today! :hug:
sabimax 02-21-2008 08:22 AM
Fin, good for you though checking out your other parts...good idea...good luck...I know young but you always want to be careful and check on that heart!!
Sandy, welcome home...hugsssss:)
Kayo, yes taking lots of pictures...and such, I try to enjoy every moment with these silly kids.as you know they grow up wayy too fast....:o
Von, you are doing great, keep up the good work on the quilts...I lvoe how you make those for others...:D
Tara, welcome back...
Renee good luck with the tests and getting better...UTIs are no fun....
Tk, hey your own little world can be a good place..but you know our place is wonderful thanks for peeking in...
My update...did I say clean yesterday...nope didnt do any of that...hahahaa
but did relax around hte house with hubby all day....then him, our oldest and youngest went out to dinner...while Mikayla watched the other two....then we brought them McFlurries for desserts....
not much going on with me..same old same old....
some things I want to get done....
cleaning..some deeper cleaning...that has meant to be done for months...
getting back into yoga...been still doing it for class on Mondays..but lacking at home time doing it....(it feels so good once done....gotta get in the mode of just doing it)
weight loss...been eating anything...kindof off right now...just in a mood I guess...and eating whatever...gotta stop and focus on my health better again....
I travel by airplane March 9th thru 14th...for work...going to a class management stuff....I have been working on the class work for a while...gotta take a pretest before...and then they do a test during class...
but also it will be fun too, we have evenings free...so I will enjoy eating out, swimming in pool...and just sleeping in a big kingsize bed without kids crawling in..hehehehe (although gonna miss them dearly)
hugsss all, sarah:hug:
tkrik 02-21-2008 09:20 AM
Sarah - All that time without the kids. What luxury. Although, in reality it will be bittersweet. When DD's were little and they would go to their dads for a week I would miss them terribly but would enjoy the break at the same time.
Fin - I do hope you start feeling better and the doc can give you something to help you out. It's good that you are getting your heart and bladder checked out. Let us know how it goes.
Kay - I am the same way when I don't take a nap - in bed by 7 but I sleep through the night. You had a very busy day yesterday but it sounds successful. It is wonderful that your neighbor looked out for you and dh. What a good neighbor.
Sandy - Don't listen to Kay. Duct tape would be fine. It's waterproof too. LOL.
Renee - On those dang UTI's! DD17 just had a terrible one. I've only had 1 in my life. However, because of retention issues, my neuro wants me to get some studies done to make sure there is not back flow in the ureters and to see how much "stuff" is left in my bladder after I empty. (Or think I empty). Good luck with the testing. Kay gave some great advice as well.
Vonn - Awesome! It's nice to have a neurologist who will listen, understand, and work with you on the issues at hand. I am happy for you.
Tara - Good to see you back.
~~~~
Thanks you guys for the congrats. I was pretty excited. Although the lesions are still there and some of them are not small, I was happy. I guess it would be safe to assume that Copaxone had something to do with it.

Today I have to bring DD16 to a tailor to get her Pom Line uniform tailored. I don't trust myself enough to do it as if I screw up, it would take weeks to replace the uniform and she needs it by next Wednesday and next weekend (statewide competitions).

You guys will love this one - The kids have off for the next couple of days because of the rodeo! LOL. Today is the parade and it apparently is the largest non-motorized parade. It's a big thing around here. DD16 was in the parade last year with her Pom Line. Businesses close for the day, no school, people have an excuse to dress as cowboys and cowgirls, and traffic is horrible.

My east coast nephews get such a kick out this. They think it is so dumb. I kind of agree with them. The kids don't get President's Day off but they certainly are off for the rodeo. LOL.

Well, I hope you all have a great day.

NaeNae 02-21-2008 09:50 AM

Teresa-LMAO The town I grew up in has a HUGE rodeo parade not one but two days! July 1st and July 4th...it is one of the PBR stops for the rodeo....but here on the east coast they have a parade for every damned thing LOL so I'm surprised your relatives are surprised!

Sarah- a bed no kids no hubby...Calgon is taking you away! I'm jealous! I actually left Olivia with the neighbor for a couple of hours yesterday...its the first time I have ever left her with a sitter....she loved it! of course neighbor has 4 kids!

Fin- I hear ya sister it sucks to be so young yet feel so old at times! feel better!

FinLady 02-21-2008 09:54 AM

Back from doc. Wants me to stay home for one more day from work. Boss didn't sound too happy, but even though I don't like it much either - listening to the doc. Taking my fluids like a good little girl, even though I'm grumbling - LOL :D

He's a little concerned with the fact that when he presses down on my "emptied" tummy area, I feel like I have to go to bathroom. We talked about the bladder issues and he's going to sign me up to see a specialist.

He's ordering a stress test for me because of the provigil reaction. Unless something shows up on the test, he doesn't think I need to go to a cardio.

Now to put my feet up, maybe watch some "chick" flicks and take a nap or two.

NaeNae 02-21-2008 09:57 AM

Fin- watch No Reservations,hubby bought it for me for Valentines Day and I love it! Glad you don't need to go to the cardio!

I am having same thing but I am also having alot of pressure,frequency and pain in the Hooha in general, doc is checking to see if it is MS related or if I have scar tissue from my c-section or fibroids.

tkrik 02-21-2008 10:16 AM

Fin - I am proud of you for taking the docs advice despite how your boss sounded. Knowing me, I would have caved in and went to work. Good job!

Renee - YUCK! I have fibroids too but I don't feel anything from them. They're just there. I do hope they can find the cause of some of these issues and that it can be easily treated. You are right, you are too young to feel this way.

FinLady 02-21-2008 10:29 AM

Renee, I don't have the movie, but it is playing on our pay per view later. Just treated myself to see it. :) Thanks for the suggestion.

TK, I used to be that way, but have been learning to listen to my body. Better to rest while sick than chance a flare up. Even though I don't like it that much - I'm a stubborn one usually. :o

tkrik 02-21-2008 10:36 AM

LOL, Fin. I am stubborn that way too. MS is not a disease for stubborn people. Maybe that is why God has blessed me with MS. Because I need to learn somethings.

SandyC 02-21-2008 11:21 AM

Sarah - Are you coming down to Hamburger University? I visited my sister when she came up and the hotel is pretty nice.

Fin - You have been through so much. I hope they find nothing to be honest and that you feel better soon. Good for you for staying home even though I know you felt guilty. I used to hate calling into work because even though I was sick I would feel like I was wrong.

Kay - LOL I am not so sure they didn't use duct tape! LOL The last thing I heard was the paper tape wasn't working!

Renee - I hope the testing come out fine but if not, hopefully they will know why your having so many UTI's. They found nothing on Jim. That sucks because we still don't know what's going on.

Vonn - Whoohoo! A doc who listens!!!! Kudos on staying busy busy.

Update: Nothing much today on the agenda. Just some laundry and chilling out. I may even break out some meat for dinner! I got spoiled eating out.

Vonn07 02-21-2008 11:37 AM

Hey all ... well.... it's ZERO out today - and I have homework and taxes ... and try to get the snow off the roof before the trailer caves in! :yikes: LOL now THAT would be a hoot!

about my neuro .. I did tell her that people with a disease should not be treated as I've been this last year from the disability people, SSDI, employer (who has now terminated me - because I didn't work out accommodations for the 'ringing'(aauurrgghh) in my ears! duh!)

I did tell her that I will writing to Dr Steve Kagen (wisconsin representative) about the whole timeline - and now my credit is bad and I have no money to live on (via a job ->> employer-type) ... and that a person has to fight WHEN their doctor APPROVES and DIAGNOSIS them with a disease and TELLS US to "LISTEN TO OUR BODIES" ... why should we have to defend ourselves when applying for assistance?? I told her that they (disability etc) do NOT know who they are tangling with now!

***UPDATE***
just got the results from my last quiz for statistics class .. how does 99.3% sound?? yep .. only missed one point out of 150! ... so, just have to finish my homework/paper-project before saturday ... and then the final before next thursday (but that doesn't start until saturday) ..

well, better get more work done ... and more projects ... got some good things going ...

so, apparently, I don't have to worry about returning to work - as long as I have these symptoms .. so, I just have to wait for SSDI still ... and then I'll be able to breathe easier ... and figure out my living situation.

hug-a-molas to everybody ... (today - well as of 2.18.2007 last year - was when I had bronchitis that set everything into motion for the MS ... I found a word search puzzle with the date and place that I worked on it!) how time flies, huh??

NaeNae 02-21-2008 12:23 PM

Hope you enjoy the movie Jenn! Keep kleenex handy...it's good but a tear jerker!

Vonn- congrats on the test! Son has had three big exams this week..math one was 9 pages,science was 26 history is 30 something!

Sandy I have masked marvel pics of Olivia with panties on her head all waiting to be lovingly resized by you LOL!

it's a lovely cool and misty morning in the jungle....

come along with me as I check on my ducks, pass out the morning corn and cabbage leaves, and stroll over to the pond to scope out the nest boxes:

Renee, that was a good movie! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Vonn, Good job on the grades, hun!

Kay, your ducks are so cute. Thanks for the pics!

Sandy, yea, guilt is the word for it - LOL. But I'm getting to the point where I'm realizing that work is only a small part of my life. And that if I don't feel good, I can't help anyone else out. Learning as I'm trucking along, I guess. :rolleyes:

~~~~
LOL, Tiger Kitty trying to crawl on laptop. I'm guessing she wants some attention. She can be strange sometimes. :D
NaeNae 02-21-2008 06:49 PM
YAY the new housekeeper was here today and I really liked her! She will be coming back once a week! The carpet cleaners are coming tomorrow morning and I will have a nice clean abode!
I sent Sandy pics of Olivia....so pantiehead wonder is on her way......
SandyC 02-21-2008 08:08 PM
Ummm, Renee, I didn't get an email from ya girl.
tkrik 02-21-2008 08:42 PM
Renee - I'd love to see Princess Underpants with her pantie crown. LOL. Too cute.
I have one of my niece when she was about 1 1/2 wearing a bra. She was at our house and got in to the girls room and put it on over her head. Plus she's wearing beads. Because this is a public forum and she's not mine I won't post it. But I'll e-mail it to you. It's cute.
NaeNae 02-21-2008 10:55 PM
LOL that was cute Teresa
Sandy I must have your email wrong in my email :(
Soxmom thanx for that email!!!
FinLady 02-22-2008 08:32 AM
Feeling better today, yea! :Dancing-Chilli:
Downside - Yucky weather and have to go to work. Oh well, gets me outta the house. Was going a little crazy :Crazy 2:
Renee, glad to hear you liked the cleaning person. :) That's cool! Can't wait to see the pics of Olivia.
tkrik 02-22-2008 08:50 AM
Renee - She is a little sweetie. Glad you enjoyed the pic.
Fin - How are you feeling today? I hope you are feeling better and that your day of rest helped you out.
Kay - I do love your pictures. They always make me smile. You ducks are so cute and the path going to the pond is gorgeous.
Vonn - Congrats on the quiz. That's awesome. Additionally, I admire you for writing to your state representative. It is so difficult financially and subsequently emotionally to go through the waiting process. Hang in there! I am sure your neuro will help fight for you.
Sandy - How's your mom doing? I do continue to pray for you all.
~~~~~

Today DD16 and I are going to visit my parents. DD16 has a question she wants to share with my dad. The two of them think alike - it's almost eerie. You can't play some games with them as it's almost like the two of them playing alone. They "get" each other. DD16 is destined to be an engineer like my dad. She saw this questions last night on some thing one of her friends sent her. She now wants to see if "grandpa" comes up with the clever answer she did. LOL. So she asked if we could go over this morning.

After that, as long as it's not nap time, we are going to rearrange our furniture. I am trying to get my postcards done. I've been using the kitchen table but then I have to put everything away in the evening and then pull it all back out the next day. I also have a big painting I really, really need to get done for DBF. So, DD16 and I are going to rearrange my tiny apartment living room to accommodate my drafting table. It's going to be tricky as I don't want to take away the living room "feel" and the coziness.

I hope you all have a good day.

Okay, I must admit this photo played tricks on my eyes at first -- I thought it was a bunny rabbit! :eek: I saw the duck's dark neck/cheek as the bunny's nose/mouth, the duck's eye as the bunny's eye, and the duck's bill as the bunny's ear. Are you with me on this?

Kayo, all your pictures are gorgeous, and bring relaxation to me. Thanks for your hard work.

tkrik 02-22-2008 10:44 AM

Monica - OK, I'm not quite with you on this but I can vaguely see what you are talking about. That's funny. I guess Kay was really giving us an optical illusion test. She's tricky that way. We need to watch out for her. :D:p

LOL. It took me a second, but I can see how you thought it was a bunny. :D

That is a pretty cool optical illusion. Kay, thanks for that picture. :)

Renee, I just sent you my email in a PM.

NaeNae 02-22-2008 11:40 AM

Carpet cleaners are gone..YAY and the carpets are already dry...they don't do the steam cleaning they do a quick dry process...they actually use buffers! And then they extract all of the water out so your floors are dry within an hour...my carpets look amazing....they even cleaned Olivias matress (queen size) for me for free! If I failed to mention it I have white carpeting thruout the upstairs and in the family room.....is that crazy or what!?

Renee, I really love those pics.:) Shes a cutie.

Im so exhausted as we had a snowmobile party today. Perfect day,
snow coming down. I also had the little ones decorate a birthday cake
for a friend that is here from out of state. lots of fun and frosting
everywhere. Last night I made dinner for 11 so Im plum tuckered.:( They
all went to swim at the hotel so here i sit, hotpack on my hip and
just took percocet and need to rest.

Fun was had by all. The snowmobiles were pulling sleds around this
enormous field across the road.:D The kids were delighted. So
all in all it was worth it but now its time to rest.

Hope u all had a great friday.:):hug:

Sarah, I hope you get a chance to relax on your business trip. You deserve a break. :)

Vonn, :hug: Sorry to hear about the denial. Hope you can appeal. Glad to hear you're keeping busy though.

Driving was fun yesterday with all the ice on the roads. Yippee! :rolleyes: Glad I learned to drive in this stuff having lived in NY.

At least I don't have to go anywhere today. Probably putter around the house doing those never ending chores. :)

Hope everyone has a good day today!
