Did some housecleaning early this morning, then went shopping with my bestfriend this afternoon. We had a lot of fun. It's been a good day! Night everyone.:) |

Not doing too much today. We need to go to Home Depot and buy a ladder. I bought a mirror to go over the fireplace and asked Kevin to hang it for me. It's heavy (like 40 pounds) so we have to make sure we find a stud in the wall. Don't want that baby to come falling down one night! We'll probably cut the grass today (I saw "we"...it will be Matt and Kevin :rolleyes:). They still have to go get my treadmill out of storage, too. So I guess everybody will be busy except me!! :p I'm getting pretty good at dishing out chores!! :o
I'm trying to keep track of Hurricane Ike. Don't know which direction it will ultimately take but I hope it doesn't head for Louisiana....I think they've had enough. Hope everyone is doing well today. :) |
morning all ... I didn't read about Jim coming home until this morning - so, glad that my prayers were favorable that he got to come home and not stay in the 'pital' ...
Renee - are those 'golden' bloomers?? I'm with Kelly ... I can get a 3-pack at Family Dollar (of Hanes or FOL) for less than $4! UPDATE: there was the HOG ride last night, but I didn't ride ... my 'ride' has been having kidney issues these last 2 weeks ... and wasn't feeling good to go ... but the first stop was at their house anyways, so I went over there and got to see everyone that went ... we'll go when he feels better! I said to Julie (his wife) that I'm afraid to ride .. because I can't lift my leg up over his bike .. she said, no problem - we'll get you on ... you just pick up your pantleg by your ankle and swing it over that way! ... I said "that's right - the 'pant-action' ... but, I'll need somebody to hold my left shoulder so I don't tip over doing it!" ... we laughed .. my right hand is giving me problems today ... just going numb and tingly on it's own ... like it has a mind of its own!! LOL ... so today will be low-key .. have a great day all!! ... and everyone over on the east coast ... hold on to your hats with Hanna ... Hey Kelly - that's some mirror ... sounds wonderful ... p.s. did anyone watch "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?' last night?? for the first time - the superintendent from Georgia schools won a MILLION $$$ ... the million dollar question was: who was the longest reigning monarch of England? .... and I looked it up as she was thinking - it was Victoria ... and that's what she answered!! was thinking of my Georgia-buds!! |
Renee I hope there is a typo error there somewhere? :eek: Holly Crap is right!
Sandy - still praying for Jim.... Vonn sorry you didn't make it on the ride - next time! Tara - good to see you posting again Frank sorry you didn't sleep hope you get a chance to rest today! not sure what is going to happen today..... cloudy and very muggy today waiting to see what Hannah is bringing tomorrow. Please keep Girlie Girl and her DBF in your thoughts and prayers today. She is doing a 3 day walk for MS (I have posted on the Stumble Inn site updating on her) She started yesterday and walked 20 miles. Her legs were bothering her last night as she fell into bed. |
Frank, sorry you had a rough night last night.
Vonn, sorry to here you didn't get a chance to ride yesterday. Hope your friend feels better soon. Sandy, you and Jim are in my prayers. :hug: Char, Glad you made it home. Hope you get rested up. Weave, Glad DS is doing better. :hug: Kelly, That is one big mirror. Hope they can find a stud on the wall that will support it. I'm not a big one for having lots of mirrors in the house, but that's a long weird story, LOL :D Hope it looks great once it's up. ~~~~~~ Trying to wake up with my usual morning cup 'o joe. We had a small power outage last night due to the storms, so I'm a little slow getting started this morning. But we do have plans to go out later. We want to check out a three wheeled scooter that looks pretty cool. It's called a Piaggio MP3. Has the stability of a trike, but turns corners like a regular scooter/motocycle. Could be interesting. :cool: Hope everyone has a great day today. :grouphug::grouphug: |
Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! Well, I made it through week 2 of school, but I am exhausted. Hopefully, it will get better now. The first two weeks are full of meetings and social events that you are expected to attend. I was at a department picnic last night for about 4 hours. the rain stopped yesterday morning, and the weather was great!!! I had to wear a light jacket. Things should settle down now at school (hopefully).
My classes are going well. My students in my honors class seem to be more attentive to the news now, and a few are asking where they should go to register to vote here at school. We are still trying to work out the other situation. Campus security is not involved at this point. If anyone was wondering, I deleted the other posts because I felt I may have revealed too much private information about myself and the situation. I do not plan to discuss it on this thread anymore. I have laundry to do today, bills, and I need to run to the store. Hope you all have a good weekend. |

I call that my "Stun Mode" (as in, "Set phasers on stun!") because I'm just sitting there, like, all phased out, and stunned, lol! we had house-guests, so there was cleaning to do, all yesterday morning, and preparing a big meal (my hubby made a very fancy Dodine) and then, it was scavenging-at-the-market day, and feeding chores, and no time for a nap at all... then, giving my guests a full tour of our six acres, and a big photography session. our visitor was the gentleman who took those GORGEOUS hummingbird pictures I posted here a while back, he's a very talented photographer... so, I can't WAIT to see the photos. Bill took pix of the turkeys (Bishop and Hadassah), the goats (Leeloo, Lilah, Alia, Paul,and Leto), the SEA of ducklings, feeding time at the zoo, our house, and pond, chickens, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, and their babies, and Becky Bacon. then, a nice dinner party last night, music, laughter, stories, and several beers were involved in the evening, LOL !! then, market again this morning, and feeding my critters, and now, I'm just sitting here, and the ONLY thing I can move is my fingers, to type !! :D congrats on the grades Yabbit, and get yourself some SERIOUS rest, girl, and I promise I will too. Weave, sorry to hear of your troubles, I hope this bug is just aa small one... my son had menningitis bck in 1984, it was NO fun... NaeNae, in the jungle, no spandex, only cotton, for breathability... and it takes a LOT of cotton balls to spin panties for me... :D Vonn, mounting and balance issues, bad mix, LOL !! hope you get that ride soon, honey! Frank, take a NAP, dude !! San, keep us posted on Jim's condition,... |
good afternoon I did take a nap frpm 8 till 11 this morn, howdy howdy howdy
stun mode I like that ride captain ride......... you all have a nice one gonna start the football season off tomorrow with a bang and pop and ect.... making my chili tonight yeah babyyyyyyyy:yahoo: hope everyones day goes as smooth as can be Renee keep fingers crossed it may go a bit further south then go into mexico, they showed that path last night, but like aI said a couple days ago I got an errie feeling about IKE... |
Hey all. I was up all night sick as a dog. I think the coffee I had from the VA ripped a new hole in my stomach and tried to get out. I was up every hour on the hour until about 6am, then I finally slept until 11am when the phone rang. I missed the call and it was Renee. I called her back and she is fishing.
I promised Jim I wouldn't mow the grass today and quite honestly, I don't feel much like anything. I may try to finish the painting in the kitchen, it's just extra layers at this point. I still don't know if I even feel like that. Only time will tell. I told Jim last night that the stomach cramps were far worse than labor ever was. At one point I thought the ER was in sight because my chest started hurting and I heard women experience heart attacks sometimes through stomach cramps. I took some Ibuprofin and sucked down Imodium like it was candy and things got better. I don't have enemies but if I did, I wouldn't even wish this on them. Ok, so I am going to check a few more threads and then head off. Jim didn't run a temp last night but at one point was freezing. We were a mess together. Hugs to all and anyone needing extra ones. :hug: |
next time log on so we can be misreable together... sorry you had a bad night Sandy, glad he didnt spike a fever, but the freezing tell him I said no mas, let the grass go I wont cut mine till its time to put mower awayi hardly ever cut my grass in sept I wait first week or two of oct and thats it for grass monhttp://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...reathcloud.gif

Back from fishing and I am beat! Carp I need a nap, but prolly won't get one! And no that was not a typo 100 bucks for 4 pairs of panties, I buy the ones like Spanx. Ex hubby calls them suck em up panties! Sandy sounded like she felt really yucky. . I cannot address everyone at this point because I am too tired to type :(
|
Sandy - that is just how I felt the other night in the hotel!! Luckily mine only lasted a couple of hours!
Hope you feel better! |

Sandy ... sorry you feel icky ... hope you feel better soon!!
UPDATE: ***trrrrryyyying*** to relax ... but still unpacking and sorting and organizing 'stuff' .. LOL for lunch today - >>> I MADE (remember, I didn't use my stove for 3 years before) ... a 'wake-up' casserole (hash browns, eggs, cheese and ham - let me know if you'd like the recipe) ... it was ma-vu-lous ... I shared with 2 of my neighbors ... and they both enjoyed it ... all I had to do was mix it all together and bake! so I didn't have to stand too long (but, I'm still hurting - it's an everyday thing anyways) ... Frank ... PM me your chili recipe... |
Quote:
LOL :D Either that or squeezing every last dime! I think Oprah endorses Spanx - I remember hearing her talk about them once. I've never bought them and now I know I won't!! It'd be that or buy groceries and I think I like to eat more than I like to wear underwear!! Now Frank, before you latch onto that comment let me make it perfectly clear that I DO wear underwear - just the cheap-o kind you get at Penneys!! :p |
Well.......when you have a lot to suck up into the underwear..... LOL
BTW I forgot to post because I don't want to get my hopes up because karma has not been kind to me lately, I found a house for rent, same neighborhood as the duplexes who denied me, the house is actually bigger and cheaper than the duplex was, I have to go meet the guy there Monday after work, my ex did say though that he would co-sign the lease with me if need be, he will be here the 16th to visit for 10 days. |
i was leaving the undie comments alone, just gonna let those comments hang on the line:rolleyes:
as for a chili recipe deb has been bugging me for some time to start making recipes, so if and when time comes, I cook by taste, I hardly use a recipe, hell I don't even have to use a measuring cup, only time I get exact is when baking , but she is right I need to start writing these meals down so she will be able to make them when she wants them or worse case ya know vonn I would like that recipe for the wake up casserole ;) char are you over the jet lag and or stun mode, I hope you are:hug: i do like that stun mode:grin: weave:hug: give you two hugs if we get a smile from you:hug::hug: Just keep focused on whats first right now its DS, next is you and then as long as you get things lined up for you the rest will fall into place I hope everyones sat is going well already had the neighbor yell at me cause it smells so good outside from chili |
Hi all,
I started a social group for political discussion on the upcoming election. Y'all are invited if you like that sort of thing. I thought it might take some pressure off of the mods and keep the heated discussion in a more obscure location. To find it, click on User CP, then Social Groups on the left of the forum screen. Feel better soon Sandy. :hug: Happy Saturday all, heading outside to play in the dirt before it starts to rain. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: |
Vonn, that sounds really good - would take that myself! I once made a breakfast pizza that sounds simular to it.
Frank, nope still in jetlag / stun mode.... gosh can't seem to get out it. I went for a walk this afternoon thinking it might help but actually made me worse. 5:00 and I am ready for bed! We are waiting for Hannah to arrive tonight. The wind has been blowing the last hour, not sure if it is her or left over Gustah. Shouldn't be to bad by the time it hit here but we are suppose to get something out of it. Renee - I won't say good luck cause I don't want to ruin your good karma going on!! :hug: Sandy how is Jim and yourself doing? |
Great idea Wiz - have fun in the dirt! :hug:
|
:)Nae Nae, I hope they suck all in rather well...wow here I am bumming over a $91. bill for my last urine test..realizing that since then I did one more urine test...guess my labwork goes toward deductables...cause I got big bill....:(
Those must be some pantys...do they come in red..hehe hugsss good luck on the house for rent... also dont want to mess it up by saying...but....I have been feeling pretty good for a week here...(well still get that urgency with urine most days) but feeling rather peppy...hmmmm) and NO I am not preggo....:rolleyes: Well gotta get going, walking the girls down to my parents..my mom called asking if we want to have dinner over there...like I would ever say NO to moms cooking...woohoooooo:D hugss to you all, see I jinxed it..my face now just became numbish...wondering if it is going to rain...at least no tingling pain....that neurontin is working....I sometimes take it just twice a day...and works too....yeahhhh luckily..havent had any more emotional breakdown type stuff... hugss all, sarah:wink: |
Wow. Busy day. :) Sorry if I don't reply to all, but I think I'm gonna forget some. :grouphug:
Was a nice day for going out. High 70s and low humidity. Felt better than I have in awhile. Hmm. Methinks I'm right about the humidity and heat thing. ;) The scooter is a not sure thing. More stable than just two wheels, but after talking to the guy - still need to be able to put legs down when stopping at a light. Otherwise, it tips. Definitely not really a trike. But also found out that Harley plans on making a production trike here soon. That could be cool. :cool: |
Frank & Char ... I added the casserole up in the food court section "Wake-Up Casserole"
|
just dropped a thank you on that thread just read it oh that sounds good, and I can think of a few things to add, thank you Vonn
|
Frank ... if a recipe isn't easy, I won't attempt it .... can't stand standing in the kitchen cutting stuff up ... and the ham is already 'cubed' (right next to the canned hams in the cooler section)
|
OMG Jen a Harley Trike is my dream car!!!!

Morning everyone, I guess I am the early bird today, the dog woke me up at 5 to go outside and Olivia woke up as well, so here I sit drinking coffee and listening to Olivia watch Blues Clues. No major plans today, need to get a few groceries thats about it. Hope everyone has a good day!
WELCOME HOME MOI AND MOSS!!!! |
Good Morning! I was up at 5 AM, too, Renee......my cat has seriously got to adjust his internal alarm clock. :rolleyes:
Nothing much going on today. My sinuses are giving me heck...I'm sneezing constantly and the pressure in my head is making me dizzy. Looks like it will be an indoor day for me. I need to go through my coupons and prepare a grocery list so I can go on Monday. I won't go on the weekend anymore...too crowded. Weekday mornings are so much less hectic. Kevins cutting the grass this morning. Matt stayed at a friends house last night after watching the GA game on pay-per-view. He called me about 11 PM to let me know he wouldn't be home...woke me up but I was so glad he at least called me. Guess he learned after the last "incident" of me calling his cell phone every 15 minutes at 4 AM...:o I was worried!! Looks like Ike will be heading towards the Texas coast. Please ya'll, if you're in the path just head for higher ground. I know we have lots of members here in Texas. Suzy is in Houston and so is Tom (I think). Julie is there, too, although I can't remember what city she's in. Moi and Moss are home today...yea!! I hope you both had a productive trip and at least got a little R&R while you were away. Vonn, your recipe sounds great! Sarah, I hope you enjoyed dinner at your Mom's! Sandy, how are you and Jim doing? Better I hope. Fin, if I knew the winning lottery numbers this post would be reading a lot differently!! :D Char, ya'll be careful in the weather Hannah brings. I hope Girlie Girl is staying dry. Wiz, that was a great idea starting the group thing....I see you already have a few members! Barb, I hope you have a good week at school! Frank, are you making Vonn's recipe this morning? What are you gonna add to it? Joelle, if you're lurking out there I'm sorry the phone was acting up yesterday. Stupid cable phone service....:mad: It was nice to talk to you for the two minutes that we did, though!! :p I'm sorry to anyone I left out. My head is so stopped up it feels like it's going to explode. Hey, Frank, I'm posting a question on the LDN thread if you know the answer please let me know! :) Ya'll have a good day! |
Hey all, I feel so much better today. Char, I feel for you if we had the same thing. It was like someone stuck their hand into my stomach with dull fingers and ripped my gut out from right under the sternum. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Thank goodness it ended by 6am and all I had was leftover soreness. I slept all day yesterday because every time I stood up I was dizzy. Jim rested with me.
He's feeling Ok guys but still very very tired. We are pretty convinced he'll go in tomorrow. I think it may be best so he can start to feel better. We'll see. I'll call the doc around noon tomorrow. I'll probably get a hotel room since it takes so long to get there and back. It took me almost two hours to get there and three to get home. :yikes: Thanks traffic! This is not that far away but due to construction and rush hour traffic you end up taking back roads and well, you understand. The pets will go into the vet hospital to stay. They both need their shots anyway. I was not expecting to spend the money but if Jim is only there three days we should be OK. I hope everyone has a good day today. Stay cool and healthy. I will be mowing the yard in case Jim does go in. Please say a healing prayer for Jim. :hug: |
Sandy, Prayers heading your way for Jim. :hug:
~~~~~ Just sitting here with my usual coffee ritual to kickstart the day. Not quite sure what we're doing since we both woke up so late, LOL. We originally planned to go somewhere, but not going to happen now. They'll be closed by the time we get there. :D Sorry to hear about all the sinus issues running around, can totally relate. :rolleyes: Think my fall ones are kicking in. Those are the only ones I get itchy eyes in addition to the sniffles. It's been a rough year, allergy wise. :grouphug: Hope everyone has a good day. :grouphug: |
Good afternoon everyone,:Wave-Hello:
Kelly make sure you take some meds so it doesn't get worse and cause fever which might mess with ms Sandy where do you go for hospital? south or towards deb and I?, praying Jim gets to feeling better, please tell him I said Hey:), and you make sure you take care of yourself:hug: I'de write i am here with coffee in hand but the last person who made it didn't say anything as to there being no more Juan Valdez :Bang-Head:, I keep explaining to them I have the memory of a pebble I did not make that breakfast yet was thinking onions for sure maybe some garlic and mushrooms was thinking some Canadian bacon too, going to get those ingredients and try to make it tomorrow I hope you all have a good Sunday, :hug: for everyone |
(*sniffle*) :hug: |
Oh, Kay I'm sorry!!! :( You must have fallen through one of the holes in my brain!! :p
|
Frank, he'll be at Hines Va Hospital in the spinal cord building.
|
aw, just ignore me Kel...
I've had a friend staying here (off and on) for the past two weeks. last month she discovered that her husband of 22 years has a girlfriend. my friend is wildly swinging between anguish, rage, and deep depression. I'm emotionally exhausted, as I try to support her in her time of need. she's gone (yesterday and today), out to do some more work, don't know when she'll return, and don't know how much more I can handle. my hubby's fine with it all, but he's not *hearing* the hours and hours of bitter complaints and agonized contemplation of suicide that have been going on. so, I guess I'm a wee bit cranky, Kelly dear... carry on... as you were! :grouphug::hug::grouphug: |
Kay, I think we can all count a time when a friend emotionally drained us. She's lucky to have you there for her but I also know you are ready for a break. Hopefully she'll find her way and give you the time you need to refuel. :hug:
