I have not heard from Frank and that has me a little worried. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...ampion/wtf.gif (That's for Kitty lol)
I hope he's OK. I'll give him a call after I give Jim a bath. Barb, lol I would go for Big brother too! |
Becky, how did your appointment go?
|
I had my Neuro appointment today. She is doubling my Gabapentin and doing a lot of blood work. I will post more on the thread I started on the MS site.
I hate to hear that so many of you are caught up in the flooding and bad weather damage from the hurricane. It is horrible to see it on the news. Everyone take care and be very careful in this weather. Hugs, Becky:hug: |
Becky it's bad here. My aunt lives in Morris and I have to call her later. It's being evacuated. I65 is shut down now too and the bridge looks like it broke. I am watching it on tv now.
I hope the gaba helps you. |
Oh, gosh. That is so scary to have all the flooding going on. I just saw some before and after pictures of a town near Galveston where everything was gone. I almost cried.

Hi everyone!
Becky, I hope the gaba helps the pain. Sandy, let us know if you hear from Frank. Hope he's okay. I've been having some bad symptom days. Mainly fatigue. I've been trying to push through them to at least keep up with laundry and dishes, but since Sunday I've only had the energy to take a shower. :thud:I'm hoping tomorrow is better. If not, I'll be giving my neuro a call. Take care everyone and have a good evening:) |
Glad to see you Frank!:)

I do go to drs next week, suppose to get blood work done for cholesterol..but gotta check on coverage...as last week I got a bill for $92. for my urine test...and I had two of them..so I will get another bill...for same...guess my labs go towards deductables..that maybe arent met???? gotta find out..not doing blood work unless it is covered.... anyhow, next week when at drs, I will discuss once again this pain that comes, the urges for the urine still having at times....tired of it all!! Cant keep up with life...too busy, to enjoy it..I guess...just overtired typing here...gotta go to sleep ..hugss to all, sarah:):) |

:o:p:o glad you checked in Frank, haven't posted much today, but reading along... and worry-warting with the rest of the dames that hang around here.   big day here, two more hatching batches of ducklings (17 total) wholesale market at dawn... scavenging repollo basura (cabbage garbage) then, the big monthly run to the feed mill for 2,000 lbs of animal feed. and went shopping too. so, I'm purdy tuckered out.   the feet-burning-thingie has tapered off a bit (thank you, Lord!) the leg/foot spazzes have mercifully been AWOL all day. got a new TN (dagnabbit!) in my left cheekbone, making me a bit irritable. so, I'm hiding out in my office with the computer, while mi esposo and guests have dinner (too tired to socialize) right now, it's RAINING cats and dogs, I mean, raining so hard that the zinc roof is SINGING, and one practically has to YELL to be heard across the room. this is the hardest it's rained since Tropical Storm Aurthur brushed by my neighborhood.. so we have to go out and check drainage, and overflow, and make sure the cistern's collecting properly... no, wait, I'll send HUBBY out into the dark rainy night, LOL !! I feel a sudden need to go to bed... :D :) :D |
Frank, Dinner sounded so good. I had 2 pieces of leftover pizza and for a treat a Skinny Cow ice cream cone. Was too tired to cook, which is often the case after being at school for most of the day. I'm having a slight pitty party for myself after reading your menu.:o
Kelly, I use those bags too. They are also great for broccoli and cauliflower. Hope everyone gets a good nights sleepy! Good night sarah, kay, kelly, soxmom, frank, sandy, jenn, renee, tricia, becky, bluesgirl, weave, vonn, wiz, lurkers, anyone I missed, and Johnboy! |
I might of needed brain beano for the last post but I got you on the first one....
sniffle ...... did you not read my post sniffle .... lol sorry about the rain, Happy about the quacks you have a nice rest Kay:hug: dream big Curious with these steam bags cant use butter? or shouldnt, what about cheese with the broccoli and cauliflower, im getting hungry again |
You can use butter, cheese, anything you'd normally use but just wait until the food is cooked and out of the bag. For example, butter the corn once it's out (and it will be hot!!). So be careful when you open the bag - do it away from your face! You can put salt, pepper, and herbs on stuff before steaming. I like to use them for broccoli and cauliflower, too. They make eating fresh veggies (versus frozen) so easy! My kids complain of the smell when I cook broccoli....cannot figure that one out since "smells" don't seem to bother either of them otherwise!!! Anyone with boys will know exactly what I mean!
BTW, I wasn't fussing at you before, Frank....just wanted you to know we were lookin' for you!! :) Just a bunch of Moms....sorta like pit bulls with lipstick, I guess!!! *NOT!!* |
no biggie i just wanted to thank everyone for their concern and forgot to, so now what y'all doing up so late or are you already up for the morning?
|
No...just cannot stay asleep to save my life. Seems something wakes me up regardless of all the precautions I take against it!! This time it was my cell phone...wrong number. At 12:30 AM! I should just turn the thing off when I go to bed...and I will start doing that from now on. I actually fell asleep at around 8:30 PM...then Kevin came home around 9:30 PM and had to come into my bedroom to talk to the cat......got woke up then. Then about 10:30 PM Matt comes rolling in...forgot his key so I had to get up to see who was knocking on the garage door...I don't worry about it too much cause I can always go back to bed in the mornings or take a nap during the day. My sleep schedule is just all whacky. If I were to sleep all the way through the night it'd probably worry me!! :o
So, Frank...what are you still doing up or have you not been to bed yet? :) |
still awake here i tend to be a mix sort late nights and early bird, got to get some sleep soon one kid works at 6am and i need to drive him joy joy
|
Me, too, Frank.....except I don't have to drive anywhere quite so early. I just get up to fix breakfast for them...otherwise they wouldn't eat.
Get some sleep....see you tomorrow (or later today I should say!)!! :) |
rise and shine kitty kitty kitty :)
morning all, I so dislike it when sean works at 6 am I am so paranoid i will over sleep on him I, so I dont sleep, makes sense right:yikes: I hope you all had a pleasant slumber, and are fresh and ready for todays, wondrous stories. spoilersecret coded message:grin: I am over tired, and have thought about it, yeah shaking vanzats hand is a way cool thing, like maui waui, but being mauled by a bunch of females while he reaches for your hand, bodies everywhere as you are pulled away by a bunch of females, that reads a lot better than yeah I shook his hand. end of secret message  hope that help someone start a day with a smile left the windows open last few nights, can we say its getting a tad bit chilly? Kelly I hope you got some sleep last night, everyone else I bid you all a good morn everyone again thank you for your concerns I did not mean to in any way take your concerns light heatedly. first thing I did when I signed on, was tell deb uh uh I am in trouble for not checking in lol and a search party may of already started, sorry, it was kind of a non cell phone day and networking,:Bang-Head: no wonder you need a degree and i am Pc savvy :yikes:, I was actually surprised by how you all can make someones day so easy, I was touched thank you, (no snide comments about how touched i am) hope you all have a great day |
morning ... don't ask why I'm up so early ... hope everyone has a great day!
|
its the crisp cool air Vonn,
tan it be a wee bit too cool for the likens of me. lol god I need sleep |
I was up again at 5:45 AM, Frank!! I will most likely be taking a mid-day nap!! You do need to get some sleep, though....it'll catch up to you and bite you in the rear!
I see that GMA is in Ohio this morning - they're on a Whistle Stop train tour of the USA. They were at a corn farmer's house this morning. I asked Matt if he thought they'd come to Georgia. He said "Why? What's there to see in Georgia?" I told him "well, they're standing in the middle of a corn field and I kind of think we could at least meet that here in GA."!! We could show them our peach crops! I hope everyone is doing well, today. I'm a little fuzzy-brained this morning due to the little snippets of sleep I was able to get last night. Everyone have a good day! :) |
Good morning Frank and Kitty and all you sleepyheads.:)
Frank that dinner sounded so good. With all the kids in school , Ive kinda gotten back to my everything is homemade thing. Im hoping I will cut grocery bills but who knows. Kelly....those bags sound great but I dont know if I could fit enough for at least five people in them. Ill have to look for them. My update: Ive been really busy dealing with my 5ds that doesnt want to go to school. The good news is he finally ate a little lunch yesterday at school:Dancing-Chilli: He has not touched his food at school:( But the teacher says hes been participating so that is good. Today was the first day that when I put him on the bus he wasnt sobbing his little heart out. Anthony is a little stubborn....okay alot:o...so I think its just going to take time. At least Im not a wreck like I was when he was crying the whole day.:) My other 16ds just got his license  so he has the car that my oldest (who is at school) used to drive. Im not sure Im ready for this except he is not over confidant(like his older bro:() so I know he is careful. The first night he had the car he left the lights on for the night. I guess he wont do that again because I didnt have time for a jump before he left for school the next morn. So I had to drop him off when he probably told all his friends that he would be driving his car. Im sure the "walk of shame" will be a good deterrant for leaving his lights on. lol:D Everyone have a lovely day.:hug::hug: |
After wrestling all day I finally came to a counseling decision last night I was comfortable with. I think I'm going to wait until say Friday and see how things play out at home a bit before letting Pastor know my decision.
Am I missing something here or what? DH says he can not wait to move to the basement and he wants a divorce so bad he can taste it, but I'm supposed to be all nicey wicey around him. Huh??? Am I the only one who thinks there is something very wrong with his view of that picture? Now I try to be civil for the sake of the kids, but act like nothing is wrong when the tension is so thick you'd need a jackhammer to cut through it? What is up with that??? BTW... The remaining boxes of his stuff that he said would be out of my bedroom by last Friday are still there. What the... ??? My blood pressure is rising so I better find something else to do. Have a great day everyone. |
:grouphug::grouphug: seem to be needed all around this AM.
I'm just going to do a quick update since we're letting one of our friends come over to use our internet to check his work email and such. His kids still don't have school yet, so they're tagging along too. Stay safe all. :grouphug: |
Soxmom - Awesome!!! DS5 is getting there. With some kids it just takes a while to get in to the swing of kindergarten/school. I am glad things are starting to work out.
I know what you mean about DS taking the car. I was nervous with both girls when they took the car to school or even out anywhere. Hey night owls (Kelly & Frank), I hope you both got some sleep. lol I have no problems going to sleep (unless I am overly stressed about something). Weave - Hang in there. We are praying for you. Good morning everyone else. I hope you all have a good day. ~~~~ Insight: Many prayers are needed for a little boy with a rare metabolic disorder who is continuing to fight to live. This family has been great friends with my brother and his wife for many, many years. They had 5 kids. 2 passed away (at age 4 and age 1) from some type of rare metabolic disorder. The 3 year old is in the hospital fighting for his life as he has been since being born. Please keep this little guy in your prayers as well as his parents, brothers & sisters, as well as my brother and his wife. Since the disorder is so rare, they only have experimental drugs for it which is not covered by insurance. For those of you that I have your e-mail, I sent you an e-mail regarding this. They have set up an account with Bank of America to help this family out. I cannot imagine losing 2 children and possibly a third. I can't even imagine losing 1. Anyhow with three ill kids with a rare metabolic disorder and the insurance not covering the treatments the medical bills add up. If any of you want more information and/or would like to help this family please, please PM me. BTW - DD17 and their 17 year old and 15 year old are all friends and talk online as well. DD17 is so sad about all of this. |
Icant imagine what this family goes thru on a daily basis Tricia.:(
prayers on the way!:hug::hug::hug: |
Hey all. :grouphug: to everyone here who needs it. I'm going to finish painting the rest of the living room today. I finished the upper walls yesterday.
Question: Jim's legs are so tight I couldn't even pull them apart. :yikes: Any suggestions on how to loosen them up? I've tried rubbing them to warm them up and that works a little but not this morning. I'd put him in the hot tub but I am afraid of him getting an infection. I wish I could get just his legs in it. Have a good day and stay cool. I wont be on much because of the painting. Frank, sorry I had to rush off the phone. It wasn't the pizza gut, it was my neighbor. lol Renee was supposed to call me last night after her ex picked up Olivia but she didn't. I hope everything is OK. This was the first time she has seen him since he bailed on her. Sox, so glad to hear your wee one is adjusting. Sarah, maybe you should call the doc earlier and let them know about your pain. Weave, just . I am so sorry. Hey Vonn, we're loving the cooler air. Whoohoo! Trish, that is so sad. The insurance companies should be ashamed to refuse to treat this family. I cannot wait for November to get here! Argh. Jenn, are you guys getting cleared out? Indiana has now been declared a disaster. That's Illinois, Indiana and now Ohio. That storm did a doozy on all of us. |

Sox, sometimes if I have alot of one thing or large items (like corn) I just use two bags. Little Anthony.....once he settles in (and for some kids it takes a couple of months) and sees that it's really fun, and that you are not going anywhere and will be there when he gets home....he will adjust. It's still not easy to send your child off crying. I remember Kevin went through a stage like that and I felt so mean sending him on anyway. Eventually he learned to like school and never did the crying thing again. Nothing can make you feel guiltier than that, though. Hang in there. I wonder if there is something that he can help the teacher with (just him exclusively) or perhaps another student that's having a hard time...maybe she could ask him to "help" the other student so that he/she doesn't feel scared or alone. That will make him feel important and feel like he's contributing to his class. Just a thought... |

My brother and his wife are God parents to several of these kids, if not all. I just can't remember. LOL. I know they are to the 15 year old as she and my DD17 are friends and since they met several years ago they call each other God cousins. LOL |
Quote:
Jim used to love his Epsom Salt baths! I wonder if I put that in the hot tub would it lesson the chance of bacteria? Hmmmm. |
I'm praying for that little boy, Tricia, and his family as well. I cannot imagine the worry and pain that whole family must be going through. That's one thing I'll never understand...why children must suffer. Whenever my kids were sick I'd pray for it to be placed on me instead of on them.....just can't stand to see them sick.
And I believe there is a special place somewhere very HOT for insurance companies that will not approve experimental treatments in the hope of saving a child's life. |
I just talked (with a few tears) to my SIL and with her permission I am going to start a thread in the Spiritual Support forum.
Additionally, I didn't know this, the mom was diagnosed with melanoma and had it removed. However, she now has another melanoma type growth on her nose. She has been unable to get to the dr as she has been so busy with the little one. (So typical of us mom's:(). Of the 5 kids, 4 of them are my brother & SIL's and my sister & BIL's God children.:( This is taking a toll on the kids as well. The 15 year old (Megan) spends her weekend with my brother and SIL to "get away from it all." The 17 year old (Jordan) is amazing. She shared with me how when Brennen, the 1 year old, died Jordan did not want to leave the room as he felt he may never seen Brennen again. When Brennen did die, Jordan, who was 12 at the time, sat and held his dead little brother and just cried. I woke up with slightly blurry vision and if I don't stop this it will be worse due to tears.:o Anyhow, I will post the e-mail that my brother and his wife sent in the Spiritual forum - Prayers Needed for Caden Chapin. |

Trish my prayers and hopes are going out for the little fighter and his Parents...
Sandy, you can always use the micro wave to heat up the towels, what about rubbing alcohol, is it from the change of weather Sandy? Hey Jim, hope you feel better.. Sox sorry and lol i remember omg lol one was happy to go other was despondent, but nothing was as bad as one mom had, first day of school us parents are standing outside talking kids have been in for maybe 5 minutes, lol , and the door slams open and this child in blue shirt goes streaming by us parents screaming MMMMAAAAAAA MMMMMAAAAAA, you could not help but laugh a little it was so sad and heartbreaking, your child sounds like school is just a matter of time before the adjustment works out, hang in there mom |
