Trish, prayers for that family...and hugssssss Losing a child, much less two and then having another hit with the rare disorder....hugssssss and prayers...

Just chilling here, Maddie had a visit from speech therapist from Early On, where Ciara once went...and Maddie as I thought is well behind in any speech too....what is it with my three youngest hehehe they understand all too well..just dont speak at first...

SO, Maddie will go once a week to Early On center, with me, on my day off thursdays...it will be good too..as it is fun place for her to play with others her age group....

So I will have all five in schools, actually all at different schools this year...
Tony high school
Mikayla middle school one more year
Jasmine grade school
Ciara over to Learning center (disability school they have...her for speech)
and now Maddie will go once a week to Early On...the early group..

wow....hahahaa

My stiffness and pain is about the same, once up and going...it subsides some what....but once sit down for a bit...or in bed...everything gets way painful..stiff like..and everything feels breakable...

Sandy, I probably wont call in, as they will just set me up earlier with a different dr in the practice...and I just want to see her next week..and go over all that goes on again...see what she has to say....

IN October they do have me set up with a specialist..endocrinologist...another route to take ..see if anything is figured out more....then not till January or maybe it was Feb. I have apt with a different neurologist....one I was told about...give it a whirl....I guess if this one says..none of this is neurological..maybe I will believe it..haha

Gotta go, Ciara will be coming on the bus soon, taking a short..yes short walk with the two little ones...just over to my parents house to visit..hugsss,sarah

weegot5kiz 09-17-2008 11:02 AM

wait sarah that other shoe will drop in about ten years lol oh yes i remember wishing mine would walk sooner :SMACK: I have one who was about a yr and half behind in speech and is doing well now, some kids do take a bit to get it going, I wouldnt fret none, Maddie is getting help this is good, hope you get to enjoy what the rest of call relaxation:hug:

tkrik 09-17-2008 11:09 AM

Sarah - I had to smile when I read your post. There is something about the youngest kids not talking right away. The older kids are their interpreters so they don't need to talk. LOL.

My mom, having 10 kids, experienced this often. Intelligence and understanding had nothing to do with it. Although, my younger sister did have to go to speech therapy for a while. My girls are too close in age for that (15 months apart). I also have had a few friends who experienced this as well.

Hope it all works out for the little one.:hug:

Also, as I mentioned to Sandy about my Epsom salt baths, try one and see if that helps with the stiffness. When things get bad for me I do a couple of these a day - one in the morning and one before going to bed. It really helps and has a bonus of making your skin nice and soft.:p

sabimax 09-17-2008 11:16 AM

thanks guys,
yes my 8 year old that is about to turn 9 in few weeks...she was speech delayed, still does a bit of speech in school now...but once she started talking she hasnt stopped...no worries hehehehe

well going to take that walk now....we had some oatmeal and PB sandwiches...oh and dont forget the choco chip poptarts lol....

hugss to all, sarah

weegot5kiz 09-17-2008 11:16 AM

yeah trish is right I use epsom salt baths too, they have a way of making you feel good, thats what I need and I use them in my whirlpool bath no problems, hmmm me thinks a bath is in order today

barb02 09-17-2008 04:13 PM

It's been a long day, and I am a tad bit exhausted. I feel as if it is taking me longer to do everything at school from preparing for classes to preparing study guides, tests, reading and grading papers... And then there are the meetings.:( I use to do almost all of my work at school, but I am finding that I have to do more on the weekends and in the evenings now. OK --my whine is over now.

My poor mom still does not have electricity. She sounded really tired when I talked to her. She went to a senior get together this afternoon, but when she got there it was canceled. I think she is feeling pretty down. I can't imagine going this many days without power.

I have read all of the posts today, and I am sending out my prayers for everyone.

FinLady 09-17-2008 04:14 PM

Well, the two kids wore me out. LOL! All in all, they were pretty good, but everyone knows they are busy, busy, busy. Wish we could bottle up that energy. :)

Glad we had a chance to help them out. They are still out of power, so glad we could do this for them.

It's been slow going getting everything back online in the area. Still a wait and see for most people. :(

~~~~~~~~
Trish, :hug: prayers going out
Sandy, in the winter I've had to use a heating pad to help with my legs, they get tight and hurt a lot when it falls below freezing outside. When it gets to that point, I can't get in and out of a tub - so we got a heating pad I can regulate with a switch to keep me from being overheated. If you do moist heated towels - did you know that a lot of massage places heat them up in crockpots on low? It's an idea.
Sarah, it's neat that they have places like this now. I was slow at getting to the speaking part myself. I had some ear issues that took awhile to clear up, so I still have a tendancy to mumble on occassion. :) I'm still generally shy and quiet, but I did participate in drama club as a teen. LOL, you can truthfully say I'm a drama queen. :D
Kitty, totally agree with you about the insurance companies.
Everyone, :hug::hug::grouphug:
tkrik 09-17-2008 05:19 PM
Frank - I posted the picture in my album. I named it "Peace." DD18 is going to bring it over to her friend tomorrow, however, she e-mailed her a picture of it. She loves it. The money that I am receiving from this painting will go to that little boy's family to help with his medical bills.
weegot5kiz 09-17-2008 05:30 PM
Trish i really like that, thats cool looking, and what you are doing is really wonderful:hug:
dont remember if i commented on pyramid city last night when i saw it but that one is pretty cool too
Momma's Kids 09-17-2008 05:38 PM
I'm just surfin the web, looking for some jewelry supplies and reading posts...
fighting off the dogs...and being thankful I feel pain...lets me know I'm alive.
A friend of mine is close to heaven's door...
Sending the DH to pick up dinner...I'm refusing to cook.lol
Deputy for the county, whom I taught in school wants me to cook for him one night. He is such a sweetie, in third grade after I moved to Fl, he would call me long distance twice a month. He talked to me for a few minutes today on the phone...
I know at least two kids I made a difference...so don't give up when you think you don't make someone's day or life different...
you never know...you all make mine very special...:grouphug:
Now, where is my food!!! lol
tkrik 09-17-2008 05:41 PM
Frank - I think you did. That was my 1st almost digital piece of work. I took a painting and played in Photoshop one day and came up with Pyramid City. It was a lot of fun but I am a more "get my hands dirty" kind of person. lol
Barb - Whine away!!! It is hard to see ourselves slowing down. Well, I can only speak for myself on that one. LOL.
I am sure your mom is sick of all it as well as many others. Is she eating OK? Sleeping OK? I will say some prayers for her.:hug::hug:
Momma's Kids 09-17-2008 05:47 PM
I love the one you did for your mom of the abstract flower...it reminds me of a flower I drew in school...yep, when I should have been listening.
weegot5kiz 09-17-2008 05:59 PM
I agree momma the flower one is a really good one too, like i said trish deb and me went through a number of art albums, last night, you all have some awesome works
Momma's Kids 09-17-2008 06:07 PM
The picture I posted in my album of my grandmother is a microsoft photo...she was sitting in front of a table with people all in the background...
I think I posted it anyway...lol better go check.
tkrik 09-17-2008 06:31 PM
Momma - That is a great picture! I love the contrast with the green background and the beautiful flowers. Thanks for letting me know about this picture and sharing it with us.:hug:
Kitty 09-17-2008 07:06 PM
So, what did ya have for supper, Momma?
We grilled some chicken breasts and corn on the cob (or I should say Kevin did - he's the griller around here), I made some yellow rice and steamed some broccoli. It was so good although I wasn't very hungry. I've lost 15 pounds so far (see Frank, the first week was the most) and hope to keep going till the 37 I gained is all gone.
We've had the most interesting birds visiting our feeder lately. There is a bright yellow little bird with black wings. About the size of a sparrow. I don't usually see them except in the Fall. We had some black capped chickadees, too. They're all so cute. I put some peanuts out and the blue jays nearly went crazy over them!
I'm goin' to bed soon. Matt won't be home till after midnight - he's doing patrol work at the Fair again. It will be gone Friday. Today's high temp was 69 degrees...perfect weather for a night at the fair.
Well, ya'll have a nice evenin' and hopefully I won't be on again till tomorrow (and I don't mean 12:01 AM either.....I need to sleep!!). :)
Vonn07 09-17-2008 07:10 PM
well, I had leftover S.O.S. for supper .. and pink lemonade kool-aid ..
the sun just set .. beautiful orange/pink ... set at 7:01 tonight ...
nothing new ... life is okey-dokey!
Momma's Kids 09-17-2008 08:46 PM
I ate part of a chicken blt from McD's...
Haven't been eating much the past several weeks, just not feeling that well.
Tkrik...I still have to work out a couple of details..thanks. I love retouching photos, especially those with ugly backgrounds. lol I don't do as much anymore because of those nasty lil jerks in my hands.
I have one I recently completed of her and took out all the life lines and aging in her face. I love doing the older b/w photos and adding the color back to them.
I use picture it and adobe... I need an updated version of both, mine are as old as dirt. lol
Frank...rules to fish by...I've heard that all my life, thanks for reminding me.
Full moon during the day, deer's delight
Full moon at night, hunter's delight.
weegot5kiz 09-17-2008 09:31 PM
momma, whats troubling you? whats been making you feel blah? cold, infection or just like a lot of us, some days are blah and then some days are BLAH, hope you get to feeling better real soon:hug:
CayoKay 09-17-2008 09:31 PM
Kell, bless you, and thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Momma, grill up some fresh fishies!
Frank, happy sunrise, dear... :hug:
Trish, praying for your little pal. :hug:
Sarah, praying for Madeline, and peaceful leavetaking. :hug:
San, how's Jimbo doing? :hug: ugh, I hate Macrobid. (bleh!)
Barb, get lots of rest, the pile of paperwork will LOOK smaller, even if it isn't actually any less to do... :hug:
Finny, nice work!
Twinkie, how ya doin' ??
Vonny, so, why DID you get up so early, dearie?
weegot5kiz 09-18-2008 05:29 AM
good morning all, my day started at 330 am, oh I forgot to say yesterday, we have our adopted grand kids over, god she has grown and what a beautiful smile, although a rather loud child when hungry, but then so is deb:yikes::OuttaHere:
anywho I have been up pondering, yeah not safe at 4 a.m. I wrote something, that i would like to share with my adopted family here, you all mean so much to me and help me so much and heal me, put tears of joy in my eyes and smiles to light up the dark scary nights, thank you
"What MS has in store"
You wonder why, how come and what for,
finding out each day what tomorrow had in store.
Mind blowing how it can change us, so much,
to the point where you actually lose touch.
Not with your fingers, that you will see in time,
oh these fun things, so many to blow your mind.
Numbness and pinny tingles, your legs and arms feel asleep,
gets so worrisome, if you think too much on it you will weep.
Ms hug, yea right, like thats a real medical term,
you're in its tight grasp, so painful, some say it burns.
Why does it feel heavy and hurt, Footdrop, great oh swell
some terms fit, some just make you laugh, on you go, oh well.
Ms bugs, noway can I buy this, yet sometimes my eyes do see,
out of the corner just a flash, or laying down, jezz i got fleas.
Exasperation, say it, I cant even spell it, why whats it mean
not again, another relapse, what damage is left, shall be seen.
Here is another word for your mind, Spasticity, out of sight,
can my legs and arms hurt so much, why is my skin so tight.
Things to blow your mind, oh wait, yea this is fun,
what mind, what memory, no cognitive, absolutely none.
This ones good, where are my friends, how can life be so askew,
they distant themselves from you, strangers think its bird flu.
Now I need a cane, oh I can feel the people stare,
how can it cripple me so much, how did i get in this chair.
My job i loath and despised so much I wanted to quit,
losing it cause I cant perform my job, talk about a being hit.
Another smack upside the head of life, to help us see,
did I even mention troubles some have when they pee.
Some are lucky and find out soon, and don't spend the years,
searching, looking, no answers, your head fills with fears.
With all that MS does to us, here is what gives my brain a start,
some long distance friends have gotten so close to my heart.
Should I let them in, should I let them get so close,
scared to do so, I know its these friends I cherish the most.
We all share a bound, a common thread of pain,
please allow my friendship to be your umbrella in the rain.
I still ponder that dreaded question, in my mind
realizing after years of thought, no answer shall I find.
There is no wondering why, how come, or what for,
I shall keep helping others and see what MS for me has in store.
sabimax 09-18-2008 06:09 AM
CayoKay 09-18-2008 07:34 AM
good morning, everybody!
rose at the hind-crack of dawn, the geese honking in the yard over something... hubby was snoozing, so I dressed and took a look...
it was just a giant boa constrictor... no big deal (*gulp!*)
it slithered under the cistern when I approached, so I only saw the last few feet... (*double gulp!*)
since THAT woke me up for sure, I decided to go ahead and start the coffee, and prep the animal food...
chop 3 lg. heads of cabbage coarsely
chop 1 sm. head of cabbage very fine, for the duckling nursery
shred 2 heads of lettuce for the duckies
slice a sm. cantaloupe for the guinea pigs
string and stick a bun of celery for the wabbits and guineas
remove outer leaves from a dozen cabbages, for bunnies
chop 8 lg. carrots into sticks, for bunnies and guineas
measure out 16 cups of whole corn for free-ranger's area
put all into (recycled) pails and bags, line up on kitchen table
don long pants, heavy socks, long-sleeved shirt (for bug protection), and scarf made into headband (for catching those menopausal forehead drips)
gather all bags and pails onto arms (only wanna make ONE loop of territory) balance at doorway juggling bags, and slide feet into sandals.
check on six duck-moms in nests, and four broody chickens.
rake sand area (20 x 30) of leaves and mess.
walk to goat shed, pass out hay to goats, check on baby kids.
head over to palapa, give handful of hay to each bunny and guinea cage.
check on pregnant guinea pigs.
refill water bottles and pellet cups.
pass out leafy greens, melon, and veggie sticks.
move duck who has eggs hatching (carefully) into nursery, ooooh, there's SEVEN babies so far !!!
count fuzzy ducklings in other nursery (36), and pet mamas...
pass out celery, cabbage, corn, lettuce, callalou, chaya, and cocoyams to swine, ducks, chickens.
walk to pond, and disburse corn and cabbage for geese and ducks.
wake hubby to milk goats, and tie up draped bug-nets over bed.
return to desk to SIT, sip coffee, and read the morning news.
:D:cool::D
it's only 6:30 am, and I'm DONE for this morning...
the whole day's ahead of me, so why am I ready for a NAP ???
:eek::D:eek:
SandyC 09-18-2008 07:41 AM
Good morning everyone. Good to see so many posting. I finished my lower half of the walls last night at, get this 9pm! The trimming is the worse part. Gosh, I used to be so fast back in the day. lol
Jim is feeling good, still tight in the legs but feeling good. He started choking this morning while I was in the other room. I waited to see if he was alright and finally he called out "I am fine, I just got a bad hit." :p I guess you had to be there but he knew I'd come running checking temps and bp's if he didn't say he was ok.
Thanks for the ideas on what to do about his legs. We tried the heating pad. Thanks Jenn for the idea. Becky called me yesterday to discuss Jim's legs and also mentioned the heating pad. With all she goes through she still wanted to be sure Jim felt good. We didn't do the epsom salt yet. :grouphug: to everyone.
Have a great day and stay cool and healthy. To all who are feeling blah today here's a hug. :hug:
FinLady 09-18-2008 07:43 AM
Frank, thanks for the poem - it's great. Definitely says it well!
Sarah, :hug: sorry to hear about the pain.
Momma, Saw your albulm. neat pics.
~~~~~~~

If I missed anyone else, sorry. Just woke up, LOL. Took me awhile to get this little bit written. :o

A little sore this morning. LOL, definitely haven't played tag in a long time. Yep, we played video games, tag, did some drawings, etc. yesterday. No wonder I'm dragging this morning. But so worth it.

One of my friends and I have tentative plans for tomorrow. It all depends on whether or not her school system is still off. She's a school counselor, and she's been getting some cabin fever.

Today is going to be a take it easy day, with doing some small chores.

Hope everyone takes care.:hug:

Kitty 09-18-2008 07:45 AM

Good Morning everyone!!

I am starting my "round of the doctors" today. Going for my mammogram....oh joy!! Friday is the eye doctor.

Stopping by Home Depot on the way home to pickup some part needed to fix the toilet in my bathroom. I'm using the boys bathroom (well, just the toilet) till I can get mine fixed...and let me just tell you using their bathroom is just the incentive I need to get it fixed NOW!!! :rolleyes: Gonna have to have a "come to Jesus" meeting with those two regarding cleaning up......good grief.....:eek:

Kay, hon you're very welcome...:hug:

Frank, I love the poem...love it, love it..."jeez I got fleas"...LOL, too funny!!

Vonn, Hey early bird!!

Sandy, how's the painting going? You gonna post pics? How's Jim?

Renee, where are you? Is everything okay? I'm getting worried....

Barb, does your Mom have her power back on yet? Seems like it's taking quite a long time to fix.

Sarah, don't work too hard. Girl, you need a spa day!

Momma, I wanna come eat lunch on your porch!

Tricia, still praying for Cayden and his family. I think what you're doing with your painting is so sweet.

Fin, still recovering from the invasion of the ankle biters? :D

Twink, are you there???

Oh God, please don't let me forget anyone :smileypray: ....I think I've got everyone....if I missed you I'm sorry!!

Ya'll say a prayer for me this morning.....hey, the pain of the test will make me forget about the pain in my legs!! What a compromise! :rolleyes:

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...Gs/mogrem6.jpg

SandyC 09-18-2008 07:51 AM

Kitty, I haven't even started the art paintings yet. i still have to buy supplies. lol But, I will post the house pics as soon as I have everything back in place. In a way it looks no different if you never came here but the colors really warmed up the house. I have a few touch ups to do but now the only thing left is the basement. Whoohoo!

Hey, take two or three Ibuprofin's before the mammo. It really helps.

"Come to Jesus" meetings. We've had a few of those. :-)

FinLady 09-18-2008 07:53 AM

Sandy, hope the heating pad helped Jim out. :hug:

Kelly, yep, still recovering from the invasion :D Hope the doc appointments go well

JustWeave 09-18-2008 08:14 AM

Nothing new on the marriage front. Not sure if that is good or bad. So far I have not changed my mind on my counseling decision. I guess I'll let my pastor know today or tomorrow what that is.

DH's birthday is Saturday and we are going away for the weekend as a family. Miss Goody Two Shoes sitting on one shoulder thinks I should buy a small cake and take it along while Livid Lioness sitting on the other shoulder roars no way.

I took both kid PC towers to the repair shop last week and brought them home yesterday. Looks like I will be returning both as soon as I have the time. Why me? Don't I have more than enough carp going on in my life right now? All of us are on DH's PC and he is paranoid something will bring his down. I don't want any parts of that!

Lots to do better get moving. Should have started the packing list yesterday, first day of homeschool co-op is today, housework never ends...

tkrik 09-18-2008 08:16 AM

Sarah - Sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you are able to rest some today.:hug:

Frank - Thanks for sharing all of that.

Kay - Oh man, I feel lazy compared to you.:eek: Doesn't it feel good though when you accomplish so much early in the morning? Get some rest now.

Sandy - So glad the heating pad worked for Jim. But, but, oh how do I say this . . .You waited while he choked? LOL. I am just kidding. I have done that with DDs. You know, like when they are little and you hear them cough during the night. You just lay there and listen for a bit before you check on them. Similar thing.

We want pictures of, of, what ever you were painting, I can't remember.:o

Fin - Sorry you are a little sore this morning. :hug: I hope you do better as the day goes on. Resting up today sounds like a good idea so that you are ready to go tomorrow.;)

Renee - Thinking of you and saying prayers that all is going well. I know you must miss Olivia so, so much. Hang in there.:hug::hug:

Weave - I am glad to hear you went to the meeting with the Pastor. Take your time before making the decision to proceed. What ever you decide we are here for you.:hug:

Barb - How's your mom doing? I have been keeping her in my prayers.

Momma - What you are doing with the pictures is so cool. I have been trying to teach myself Photoshop as I have it on my computer. Half the time I am lost and certainly at this point cannot do what you did with the picture. Oh, I can make it swirly, blurry, change the colors, contrast, etc. and like my Pyramid City turn it in to something like that but not not change backgrounds or anything that involved. Awesome job!!!

Kelly - LOL. Good luck with the talk with the boys. We only have 1 bathroom and a vanity area in the girls room that has another sink. Trust me, the bathroom is clean but the vanity area :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:. LOL Teen girls.

As for the painting, my belief is that God gave me somewhat of a talent to use and share. If I don't use it to benefit others and share, then the artwork loses meaning and, well, it would make me a selfish person. Just my own feelings on it. When I do my work, I pray a lot, have a conversation with God, and sometimes even listen to Christian Rock - KLOVE. I don't do this all the time but and I don't do all of it at the same time (overload) while I am painting, but God is always in there some where. The paintings that I have done that I don't do this with, no one will ever see. LOL.

Anyhow, when I got the e-mail about Caden, I decided that I would take the money from this and put it in to the fund that they started for them.

Hi to anyone I may have missed. I hope you all have a great day.:grouphug:

soxmom 09-18-2008 08:27 AM

Good morning everyone.:hug:

Sarah.......chin up kid and rest while you can

Kay.....wow......Im tired just reading your morn.;)

tricia.........what a nice way to share your earnings....I feel so for
that family.:(

Kelly.....I like that "come to Jesus" meeting. Im gonna try that on my
boys

vonn, barb, momma , fin,sandy,jim, weav have a great morning.

Renee.........I know how hard this is.....you're in my prayers.:hug:

My Update: Got ds5 off to school but another rough morn. I talked to

Trish, lol He knows I would come running. lol

OK, quick Photoshop tip. If you want to add a different background go to Filter>Extract and play with the erase tool. Draw a circle around the image you want to extract. Then take the little paint bucket and click inside the image. If you make a mistake and go into the image, take the little eraser tool in Extract and erase the mistake and start again. Then save and BAM, the image is there with no background. Now, take your eraser tool and clean up the edges.

Here is a quick tutorial: http://creativebits.org/photoshop/the_extract_tool

All you have to do is google Photoshop tutorial and you'll get a ton of info!

CayoKay 09-18-2008 08:31 AM

oh yeah, Trish, I'm a-gonna park myself until dusk feeding chores.

at least the bed's made, so I can go lie down on it.

:D

and yes, yes, yes, teen girls' bathroom counters... :eek:

but at LEAST they don't miss the bowl.

cleaning up after little boysies is SO much worse, actual CRUD, rather than just clutter.

:D

Thanks, Sandy. I'll have to try that out. I at one time did a search when I was trying to do something . . .oh, trying to set up the page to print cards. All I came up with was Elements and some other version. I have the pro version. I will check out the link you posted. Again, thanks.

but at LEAST they don't miss the bowl.

cleaning up after little boysies is SO much worse, actual CRUD, rather than just clutter.

:D

LOL. Big boys too!!!:eek: Lol. Not to mention but when big boys have been drinking a bit, oh my! LOL.

When I was married my ex and I would decide before going out who was the driver and who was the drinker. Usually, he was the drinker and I was the driver. One night, after we had been out with friends, we came home, went to bed, when all of a sudden he gets up, turns on the closet light, and gets in to "position.":eek:

I asked him what he was doing and he said, "Taking a ****." I told him he was in the closet (not to mention aiming at my shoes). The man was so drunk, I had to help him in to the bathroom so that he could "take his ****." LMAO. Of course it would not have been LMAO if he had "******" on my shoes!

I'd rather use the cannabutter.

goes good on morning pannycakes, lol !!

that reminds me... my doctor couldn't find Baclofen ANYWHERE in Belize.

since I now have permanent residency, he went ahead and ordered a supply from the US... luckily, he owns a farmacia next door to his doctor office.

:D

but, to tide me over until the order arrives, he Rx'd me some Piroxicam capsules (20 mg. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos)

googled it, and it's an ARTHRITIS med...

http://www.medicinenet.com/piroxicam/article.htm

well, it DOES help with the muscle aches, but doesn't calm the spasticity.

I'd rather have a special brownie.

:D

What about having the kids make the cake for their dad. Then it will come from them, dad will be proud, kids will feel good about doing this for dad, and you have little "investment" in the whole thing. You can satisfy Miss Goody Two Shoes by ASSISTING the kids and Livid Lioness as it is not coming from you.
