I hear you, CK, except instead of coming home and sleeping, I come home and cry.

You know, that's where Matt found Gracie (my mini-hippo)...she was soooo tiny and he carried her around in the pocket of his shirt till he came home with her. There was a litter of four kittens and he said he and three other officers all took one each. Can't you just see them pulling someone over for a ticket, getting out and walking up to the car with a kitten in their pocket?!

She was just a teeny ball of fur...and scared to death. Now, she weighs over 20 pounds and thinks she rules the roost here.

Ok, Kelly I forgot your cat was named Gracie and was sitting here trying to figure out what drug paraphernalia would resemble a hippo. LOL. You story is really cute though.

Additionally, I was watching the weather report this evening and it is abnormally cold where you are. Hope you are staying warm. I'll try to blow some warm air about due east. It was hot today. I still have my ac on. I think the high today was 86 and it was sunny.

Both DDs are out this evening - DD18 at school and DD17 helping at church. It is nice to have some quiet around here. LOL.

Oh, homeless boy won't be coming back here. He came last night, said he wasn't feeling well, and laid down on the couch. He was acting really odd and I was so tired I just assume it was because he was feeling sick. However, when I got up this morning I starting thinking . . .his whole story isn't adding up just right, call it intuition, I don't know.

So this morning I started questioning a little bit more about his family, his dad that apparently moved out of the country and didn't tell him or his sister, his mom, his grandparents, etc. I also told him what he needed to get help (SS card, photo ID and birth certificate). He said his dad has it and he can't get a hold of him. I told him to call his grandparents and he said he couldn't do that. So I told him I would call. The kid turned white and then said he didn't have the number. The whole conversation was odd.

I gave him $2 for an all day bus pass and sent him on his way with addresses and phone numbers of where he needed to go downtown to get help.

DD18 got up and was telling me about a strange mark that he had on his arm. She said it was weird looking, kind of like a mark when you get blood taken. (Good news - DD18 doesn't know what track marks look like).

Sorry I'm ranting. Long story short - I won't be helping him anymore.

Trish, Sorry to hear about that regarding the kid. It's never easy when you find out about these things.

He won't be coming by tonight. The 1st night he came I was straight forward with him - a night or 2 was fine but that was all I could do. He used up his last night. LOL. No, today I told him that he needed to leave, gave him bus money, and told him good luck. No offers for another night or even to give us a call if he needed anything.

Well Fin, he had a shaky past but pulled through all of it and had been doing well for a few years. I think the stress of being out on his own and feeling like he had no one there for him pushed him to go off again. DD 18 said he had been acting strange and not like himself.

EDIT: By the way, thanks you guys for your support. It is really hard on me as I tried to help him but had to draw the line when I started getting suspicious. You all are great!

Trish...wow...glad you were kind enough to help, but I am even gladder that you made sure to take care of yourself in that situation...

Kelly, hope your facial pain is not giving you problems...the hippo thing confused me too

I had my first IVSM yesterday afternoon...after about 10 minutes, I experienced a metallic taste in my mouth...later in the evening my stomach was burning, and my headache came back, off and on. I slept about 4 hours but as you see now I'm wide awake. I am hopeful that some of the stiffness I've been experiencing dissipates...I have the next two IVs scheduled already, and need to pick up my script for oral prednisone, as I'm scheduled to start them Saturday...
I was in denial all day yesterday...sat in my car in a parking lot telling myself, "I'm not that bad...I don't have MS...I don't need these drugs."

Now tell me, please, after almost 4 years of dealing with sxs, and wishing I could get an answer as to what was going on, why am I now not believing the doc? Is it fear? Or do I really believe I've overblown these sxs?
