Well, as you can see by my post's time, I'm in roid mode still...wide awake, ready to do Black Friday...never done it before...DH made a list of stores and merchandise we're on the hunt for...

We had a wonderful time yesterday...we didn't have Thanksgiving at our house, since we have Xmas with the kids this year, so my son's new inlaws invited us over. It was weird to accept, because I wasn't so happy with his MIL's controlling nature during the wedding last June, but we really had a very nice time. My inlaws sat quietly taking it all in as usual (well, my FIL did; I'm not sure that my MIL can process everything anymore, but she's happy just watching everyone). My eldest son decided not to go, and at first I was miffed at his ungraciousness, it was good for him...I think he went out somewhere. My DIL's mom flew down to be with her...so sad to be in a situation of separation during the holidays. It makes me sad to witness...
Anyway, there was a lot of laughter, at dinner, because this family has four girls...lots of joy and warmth, which was so nice!!
Unfortunately the spasms are kicking in once again...thought the oral roids would last longer in this regard. My legs are beginning to tighten again, and my back went into a spasm right at the beginning of dinner...ouch...

It was kind of funny (girls, you'll get it). As I was getting dressed, I decided to put Spanx on to pull in the roid bloat. As I tried to get my left foot in one leg, my ankle decided to lock right...so you can visualize me bent over trying like heck to get the Spanx off of my locked ankle so I can straighten up. Did I think to let go of the Spanx with my hands? Noooo...I held on until my ankle loosened up. I think my brain is spasming, too...

Today, after we are finished shopping, we're going to put up the tree and lights (sorry for you all who like real trees, this is a gal who loves her fake one...had it for 34 yrs...a beauty). Then the Tazmanian Devil, my daughter comes in with her new fiance and all heck will break loose...decorate, make fondue, drive around looking at banquet halls all weekend...it'll be interesting...but great to see her. A high school teacher of hers said of her once, "When she comes into a room, all eyes turn to her...the room lights up." Isn't that a nice thing to hear about one of your kids?

Well, everyone, do some exercise so that you can get ready to pack in all the cookies, fudge and treats over the next 4 weeks...:D:D

it's 4 am in the jungle, and the usual results from going to bed early last night.

:D

going to make good use of the time, and shower, and get ready for dawn wholesale market.

I need a 100 lb sack of cabbage today.

 to all, and hope you had a good T-Day.

Good Morning!! Still up at 5 AM even though I have no need to be!! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Frank, I'm so sorry to hear about your son and his orders to go to Kuwait. He'll be in my prayers for sure. I'm so glad you all got to spend the day together.

Barb, wonder why your sweet potatoes were too salty? I made a new recipe for a sweet potato casserole and it could have been dessert....so sweet.....but everyone seemed to like it.

DebbieD, sounds like ya'll had a good time in spite of new MIL..... It's so hard to get used to a new personality in the family, especially during holidays. We're all so used to our own traditions and even though it's a change for the positive it's still hard to get accustomed to it. Glad the Spanx situation worked out!! :D Spasms seem to wait till they know the time is just right, don't they? :p

Kay, I don't envy your trip to the market at dawn every morning.....especially to lug a 100# sack of cabbage home!! I know the critters appreciate it, though. And to tell you the truth.....it would beat the commute to work....so I guess I wouldn't mind it too much. As long as it didn't rain!!

Wiz, your day sounded so nice.....sounds like DH's nephew is doing OK on his own!! That was nice of him to have so many people over...not sure I could have managed to entertain so many.

Weave, glad you had a nice dinner. Hope you got in a good nap! Keep us posted on the job situation...guess it will be next week before you hear anything. Good luck!

Renee, hope the Makers Mark was put to good use yesterday!!

Everyone who is out of town I hope you all had a nice day with family and friends. Stay safe on your travels home!

************************************************** *

Well, I'm not heading out to any Black Friday sales today or even this weekend. This is my first year on SSDI and it sure does make a difference.....especially when you were used to making a decent salary before. But....I'm not complaining at all. I'm sitting here in a warm house, got plenty of food in the fridge, and have my children here with me....what more could I ask for? Anyone else who is going to venture out today please be careful. Hang onto your wallets!! The thieves and whackos will be out in full force today!

I wish I could be like my daughter, just make a decision and go with it. Everything is a huge issue with me.

Right now I'm trying to decide whether or not to walk to work. It's only a quarter of a mile, and my car doesn't like to start and stop for a distance that short. I hate to drive when I don't need to.

It's supposed to MAYBE snow an inch or two. I could walk, and hope I can push Speed Buggy home, bring my YakTrax just in case. It might not even accumulate that much snow.

Or I could walk and use my cane with the claw, or my trekking poles.

Easier to drive, you say? Not so easy after work when it's dark and I'm trying to get the snow brushed off my car, climb in without slipping (can't drive with yaktrax on).

Oh, you say "Why don't you just walk over, and Bob can always come get you after work with the car?" Because Bob doesn't drive anymore, gave up his license.

Or you might say, "Why don't you just retire?" I'm going to, next week. But I still gotta get to work today. My poor brain! :D

Can they send a mail truck to pick you up? Special delivery? :D

weegot5kiz 11-28-2008 08:07 AM

hope everyone has a great day ... shopping, resting, enjoying leftovers!!

weegot5kiz 11-28-2008 10:00 AM

I didnt eat too much, probably cause i posioned my self with a bad brautwurst the night before and hug the porcline god all night, sent deb off to work with a pound of home made fudge, I made it when we got home last night

I am so hungry for a turkey sandwich but am afraid to eat, gonna see how the coffee sets, then perhaps I will have a nice warm turkey sandwich, lakes are not melting around here, we have been close to 16 degrees below the norm as of late, i mean its almost been as cold as maine whats up with that

FinLady 11-28-2008 11:20 AM

Morning everyone. :) Took me a little time to read through the posts, but I did. Glad everyone seems to have had a good holiday.

Sitting here sipping my coffee and resting after a busy day. Was sent home with leftovers. Debating on which to eat first for lunch, lol. I don't expect them to last the weekend. :D

Definitely not venturing out today. We live close to a major shopping center on one side and a wally world on the other, so I know traffic is going to be a mad house out there. :Crazy 2:

Hope everyone has a good day. :grouphug:
