Hey I dont blame retailers as much as the people....sad how people act and all for material stuff....hubby once spoke up..out loud in line once....
telling my daughter...(as someone was cutting in line front of them)...he spoke real loud.... Mikayla, you know that TV is material....if we get one cool, if we dont who cares....holiday spirit and the holiday we are celebrating is NOT being rude to others, cutting in line, struggling with others to get that material thing....Christmas spirit is GIVING....and sharing, and loving.... it was cute too, cause the cutter stayed there...but then got embarresed and walked away...cuase when the TVs got cut open to sell...the guy first in line..before hubby...handed my hubby a TV over this cutters head...and said...MERRY CHRISTMAS! thats when the cutter left... hugss all....bummer that the world is getting so materialistic...I know money is tight...but if money is tight enough...to NEED to get that best deal...and be rude about it...it isnt worth it... I dont tend to go shopping on this day....too rude...someone at the Walmart where I work...the customer came in for coffee...said that a man walked by her cart and took an item out of it..and said..hey this is mine..and walked away fast....wow... hugss and happy holidays....remembering the reason for the season...as I sit here listening to wonderful Christmas music with the little ones...and enjoying the peace that holiday thoughts can bring us..hugsss,sarah |
and isnt that sad....that the darn shoppers were rufusing to leave...as there was a death...come on people...wow..huh....
hoping that the lady didnt lose her baby...that is sad...and sad that the worker lost his life....hugsss to all, sarah |

If they felt the crowd was out of control they are under no obligation to open their doors, either. It was poor judgment on their part all the way around. Add to that the greed of materialistic people and you've got the recipe for disaster. They should have arrested the people that refused to leave. Such a shame that the Christmas season has come to this. :( Just makes me even happier that we are not exchanging gifts this year. |
this christmas will be motly handmade items .... no-sew flannel quilts, christmas trees i make with coathangers, christmas lighted balls made with lights and solo cups ... things like that ... grandbabies are getting store items ... clothing is what they need so that is what we are focusing on this year .... the one boy who will be over seas will probably get a care package from all of us with basics and a few niceity items ....

Ah. The holly-daze shopping nightmare. Blech! I learned a long time ago that holiday shopping crowds, traffic and parking lot and I do not get along. My drive to the store gift shopping gets finished before T-day. If I'm not done before T-day the rest gets done online. My sanity is way more important. What shred of sanity I have left that is.
Unfortunately if I do get the job I have my fingers crossed for I will be forced to go clothes shopping during the nightmare because my closet is pretty bare. I'll also have to get sewing too. Double blech! Maybe even triple. |
hubby and I will have to go out one night soon, and do the shopping for the kids....we love to go together some night, and just take lots of time...enjoy our date night of it..we go to dinner and make it a date night...
hugss all, sarah (I wonder in NY though if they would do police or not...some times big citys are different in the way you can request and what police do for duties or not but great idea, they should have had something set up....not sure why as it was a Walmart they werent open overnt anyhow....here they were open Thanksgiving and overnt...so holiday 5am shoppers could get in the store whatever time..and get in the lines for the special items that were 5am specials...) hugssss |
I am glad to hear the woman didn't lose her baby. Earlier reports were that she did. Now Toys R Us had a shooting. Every year and still no one gets it. Is that one material item worth your life or the life of someone else? I agree Sarah, that this type of behavior not the reason for the season. We can only pray for the victims and those who will have to sleep tonight for what they have done. It's not the retailers fault in any way. That poor man was about 34 years old and a temporary worker probably trying to make a little extra cash.

i am a firm believer in the term bahumbug
its disgraceful that people who call themselves human could and would do such things I don't get that part of it, wonder how many of them that trampled those at walmart and every where else it happened, go to church on Sundays, truly sad I know I have heard some of the tv ads say come early sale items are limited, perhaps saying that with a big sign on the door would be better then saying it on tv,(dont want to hear anything about what if you cant read english, learn) maybe that would help limit this insane hysteria bs I am sorry for those who lost family members my prayers go out to their family, talk about killing the Christmas spirit, this just really sucks |
separate rant sorry but it really irks me some of the tv ads like the captain Morgan ads the buzzed brainless buffoon spills his lime off his glass then the buffoon cant find it as he looks down and a girl next to him puts a new lime on his glass he looks up and sees it and say a Christmas miracle, A Christmas miracle is a cure for cancer or Parkinson or ms or a preemie with no chance to live pulling through, I see the commercial one more time and am pretty sure I am writing them a letter, its sacrilege, and trust me i am not the most religious person but I am not that insensitive as the people who produced that ad or the ones who approved it at capt Morgans, they should be ashamed for such an ad

rant away Frank...hehe hugsssss
Well, I think we got people in the spirit at my store, Jade and I wore Santa hats today, and made people smile....:D It was interesting to watch the shoppers enter as it got closer to 5am..as we got ready for opening at 5am.... prayers for families of the damage some selfish shoppers caused... hugss to all, heading back to bed soon, took a nap after working so long and early..but the long shift has my body sore...and work the next four days... hugsss, sarah:) |
