Please keep my sister Madelines family in your prayers and thoughts, tomorrow is the actual burial....she was creamated and now burial in in the morning...my parents and sister headed down...I decided not to do the long trip again and the whole goodbyes again. My body had lots of troubles thru funeral..due to stress and emotions....so thought better for me to stay home....

I will head down there I think In January...as there is a Gymnastics meet dedicated in her name..and all proceeds will go to a Cancer center....So I think I will go down then and go to it with my neices and bro in law.

Keep Mark in your prayers a bit extra, I think he is feeling lost, mad, and lonely....as it is hitting him hard...(as we told him feeling mad that she left or any of these feelings are so totally normal...)

hugss to all and thanks for your extra prayers, sarah

any one else with MS that visits here ever get so numb you cant even tell if your feet are on the ground like when you get up from the bed or lazy boy, I have to look to double check I am touching the floor its really getting annoying I dont even feel my arm its not there :yikes:

CayoKay 11-28-2008 10:26 PM

yes Frank, in 1993 I had that same thing with my feet... couldn't even tell they were there.

the numbness spread upwards to my waist, and stopped, where there was a feeling like a wide belt wrapped tightly around my middle.

the severe numbness faded after a few months, and nowadays I can feel patchy areas behind my knees, on my thighs, and in the arches of my feet.

it's only a "light" numbness now, so... I can't feel mosquito bites, but I CAN feel the itching later... but can't feel myself scratching, LOL... a regular barrel of laughs... NOT !!

I couldn't feel heat or cold, and so, burnt my calves a few times standing too close to the wood-burning stove... still can't shave my legs without serious risk, so have done it only a few times since then, (like to go to the beach, and for my wedding.)

Frank, most times, most of this stuff goes away, or fades away slowly, so don't fret about it... it'll do whatever it wants.

the best thing you can do is get lots of rest, and try to make the flare as SHORT of a duration as possible.

don't get too hot, too tired, or too stressed, take it easy, and take care of yourself (lol, like I'm one to give advice!)

When I had my first flare, my entire left side of my body was numb from my rib cage to my feet. Now my left foot is partially numb (all of the time) and then I will get numb spots on the back of my leg usually by the afternoon.

I went to see Australia. Hugh Jackman really is one of the most sexiest men alive. Seeing him on the big screen without a shirt on was definitely worth the price of the movie.;) Overall, the movie was ok. It was a tad bit too long and too slow. But I enjoyed it. It has been awhile since there has been an epic film. There are a couple of Christmas movies that I want to see.

Frank - ME too! I will add to that . . .I picked up a hot pan on Thanksgiving (I thought it had cooled down) and burnt both my hands. I never felt anything on my left hand (still don't feel the burn).

I have read all your posts, pages of them. I can't remember all of them but know that I am thinking of you all.

I am still at DBF's and borrowing his neighbors laptop/internet access.

I started 3 paintings yesterday; just prepping them with spackling compound and molding the compound to make the design I want before painting. Today I need to do some more moulding/sculpting and then will paint them.

Hope you all have a good day.:grouphug:

Morning all. Yes it is still morning. Had to check.

Pretty much just another Saturday around here. DH and DS are at church working on set construction for a dinner theatre production in March. If I'm lucky lazy bones DD left her bed. I've visited the privy, been fed and watered, now I'm trying really hard to not think about a certain job.

Dishes and laundry are on the agenda for today. Real exciting. I also need to come up with a plan of attack for the next few weeks. Lots of holiday stuff to do and I should have done more planning earlier this month.

Well stuff to do better get moving.

Sarah, Prayers going out for your family.

Barb, thanks for the movie review. I think he's a hottie too. ;)

Trish, have fun getting the paintings ready. :)

Frank, another numb one here. :Wave-Hello:

Just had an experience with it too. Managed to do a full post and managed to accidentally delete it. All because I hit the wrong button, lol. Yep, have problems feeling the keyboard. Generally my typing classes from high school help me out a lot with that, but not foolproof. :o

My right side is my trouble side as far as numbness goes. Intensity can get worse through the normal usual suspects - pushing too hard, being sick, being overheated, being over tired.

I have learned to take my time with walking since I really have to pay attention on my bad days. Taking it slow, walls, and rails are my friends. :o Since it's the right side, I can't drive on my bad days since I can't feel the peddles. On my really, really bad days, the drop foot also comes up on that side - so makes the day really interesting. PT helped a little with learning to change my stance for the balancing act I need to do when that happens.

I also have problems sometimes feeling hot/cold on that side. So it took awhile, but have now gotten into the habit of testing hot water with the left.

If this is new, please call doc. Hope you feel better soon Frank.
