Sometimes I have it nailed :D and other times... well :o... you know. :rolleyes: :eek:

Thanks for all the congrats. Christmas came a bit early for me. Sweet!

I have a really nice bunch of flowers sitting on my dining room table and a grin on my face from ear to ear that I just can't get rid of. :D Not that I really want to. :D

Kitty 12-11-2008 05:31 PM

Congratulations, Weave! That's great news! :D

barb02 12-11-2008 06:19 PM

Congratulations weave!!! I forgot to give my update -- made it through the day although I almost strangled one of my colleagues during the student thesis defense. He mumbles and pauses, mumbles and pauses, and never gets to the point he is trying to make. He drives the students crazy in class. Okay -- deep breath. Maybe I will let him live for now.

Blessings2You 12-11-2008 06:23 PM

You can tell there's a full moon coming. Everybody wants to injure somebody.

sabimax 12-11-2008 07:00 PM

wow WEAVE congrats woohooo yeahhhhhhhh:)

Well that was easier than a dentist visit...in my book...there was nothign to it...a bit wierd trying to be positioned..but nothign hurt...yahoooo not bad at all....easy smeasy...

lets hope it comes back normal...

I checked then after in my drs office...askign the receptionist if and when my primary would be letting me know what my EBV test results mean...as I was asking she said I sound awful ..and then asked if I want apt with her tomorrow...to talk over if she has result info better understood...for me...I said surree...actually due to a sore throat for over a week..not very sore now..but not recooperating either much...last night when I had to cover that shift..twice I broke down in one of those embarrasing coughing fits...and also at times would lose my voice like.....

so I took an apt...came home...called into work sick for tomorrow...cause I have needed that in more than a week...and took a long nap..now up...and nice to know have tomorrow for more rest...as I worked last night on day off.

hugss to all...keep healthy, stay warm...and hugsss,sarah

Victor H 12-11-2008 07:16 PM

Congratulations on the new job, Weave !!!:D

barb02 12-11-2008 09:23 PM

Hey Vic! How are you doing? I was thinking the other day that I had not seen any posts from you in awhile.

NaeNae 12-11-2008 09:32 PM

Congrats Weave!

Gonna let Sandy update for me as I feel really gross and need to go to bed.

SandyC 12-11-2008 10:14 PM

Well, she basically told it. She's sick as a dog and the doctor wanted to put her in the hospital. If she doesn't get better he said she is going in. :hug: Renee, get better soon.

tkrik 12-11-2008 10:22 PM

Renee - I hope you start feeling better soon!:hug: Will be saying some prayers for you.

Sandy - Thanks for giving us an update.

Kitty 12-11-2008 10:27 PM

Sarah, glad to hear the pancake test wasn't bad for you. I've never had any significant problems with it....I mean, it's not like I'd want to do it everyday but it's not as bad for me as it is for some others.

Renee, hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself!

After raining for two days and being unseasonably warm (low 60's) it's now cold, windy and supposed to snow! No wonder my leg is giving me fits! :eek:

ewizabeth 12-11-2008 10:43 PM

Get well soon Renee! :hug: Glad you had your mammies grammed Sarah! I go on the 29th... :thud:

oh, then you'll like this one, Kell...

I heard Moe *hissing* up a storm at my screen door this morning, so I ran to see what was going on.

there was my kitty, on the other side of the screen door, hissing right back, with her TAIL straight UP, and her fur all sticking out.

I nearly split a gut laughing.

oh, I was tempted to open the door, just to see who would back down first, but then my good sense kicked in, and I decided that might just be a BAD idea.

see, it's mating season, and my goosies are kind of acting strangely.

oh, and the turkey babies are hatching!

I counted NINE little ones running around, before I headed out to run errands all day.

CayoKay 12-11-2008 11:35 PM

Weave, congrats... we just KNEW you could do it! and you sure do deserve some good news... and DON'T let him take your paycheck, you deserve THAT too, honey !!!

NaeNae, get some sleep, and stay outta the hospital, there's some DARNED strange germs in there, girlfriend!

San, slow down, you make me dizzy, ya whirlin' dervish!

Sarah, ouch ouch ouch, I detest getting squooshed... glad you made it through okay... and hope you get rid of the creeping crud-bug soon, it's sooooooooooo hard being sick, *and* working, *and* parenting, all at once... don't forget to pamper yourself a little, okay?

Trish, my kidlets think I'm pretty funny on meds too. I babble up a storm, because I'm such a lightweight...

Kell, glad to hear you're on the mend, mah cousin!

Barb, cog-fog blows, especially because I distinctly remember being intelligent in a former life, handling multifarious details, never missing a step, multitasking, and *certainly* never making mistakes, nor spelling anything incorrectly...

:cool::p:cool:

of all the things I've lost, I miss my MIND the most!!

:D:eek::D

hey, y'all, don't worry about sending out search parties for lil Kay, she's ay-oh-kay!

we have a couple from Washington state staying with us, they just bought land nearby, and are using our contractor to build their jungle abode... so we've been giving them all the benefits of our experiences, and building tips, and important contacts, and guidance...

plus, our pig is pregnant, and needed pen modifications for the upcoming litter's safety (Mama Becky Bacon weighs in at over 300 lbs, don't want her to *squoosh* the babies!)

plus, we have two geese about to start their once-a-year egg laying, and they need nestboxes built, and boxes for two dozen ducks...

plus, cage-cleaning, and guinea-pig shuffling, got FIVE preggers does about to kit... and needed nice new separate birthing rooms for them.

plus, BIG DAY TODAY, feed run over to the Mennonite village, for about 1,000 lbs of corn, milo, pellets, and scratch grains... and raiding the giant wheelbarrow at the produce store for goodies, oh, SCORE !!!

I got sacks and sacks of cabbage leaves, overripe melons, tomatoes, beet greens, lettuce leaves, broccoli stems, cauliflower leaves, bags of expired masa (corn tortilla paste) oh, a veritable BONANZA of yummy loot...

it's sooooooooooo funny, when we pulled into our driveway, there were 100 birds waiting anxiously for our arrival, lined up under the mango trees, licking their chops.

and so, the animals had a festive party, then, we had dinner, watched a movie, and I'm JUST now finished catching up on this thread, and chiming in.

:grouphug:

Kitty 12-12-2008 06:10 AM

I should have known........a typical day for Kay is far from a typical day for me!! You amaze me! :) Bit I'm glad everything is oKAY!!

CayoKay 12-12-2008 07:04 AM

ah, Cousin Kell... that was the proud (credit-grabbing!) "editorial we" that I used above.

DH cooked dinner, and downloaded the movie (a geek-chef, oh MY, how did I get so lucky?)

and the nestboxes, all I did was HELP, he did the actual construction.

("It's Shayke 'n' Bayke, an' Ah hayalped!")

:o:D:o

and he did all the driving for the feed run too, I was just a passenger, along for the ride (oooh, he's a chauffeur too, hooray!).

however, I DID spend an hour picking through the veggie-basura (garbage), and sorting it into 50 lb sacks... thankfully, the Mennonites are kind, and provide a chair for me while I work over their produce-room wheelbarrows.

I did that while DH shopped, as I have difficulty standing and walking around stores for more than about 10 minutes.

and the insight-sharing with the new immigrants was all done while ensconced comfortably in well-padded bamboo chairs, sipping iced limonade...

:D

I also did the cage-cleaning, and guinea-pig shuffling, as DH doesn't know who's who, and hilariously thinks the embarazada ladies are just a wee bit corpulent...

:o

I do the cage-cleaning perched on a barstool, and fill a wheelbarrow, which he trundles over to the composting hutch.

we make a good team... I turn the empty feed bins sideways, and when I come back, they're magically filled with corn, pellets, and grains...

it's the ideal relationship for me, think of me as a movie director sitting in a chair, being the decider... since our only income is my SSDI, I get to be gloriously in charge...

but didja notice, I get the *****-detail, and the garbage-sorting?

:D:p:D

my cog-fog DID kick in yesterday, and DH has to go BACK to the Mennonite enclave this morning (he's leaving now) because I forgot the bunny pellets, and the measurements of the bodega mud-grate... AND forgot my to-do list, so we didn't pick up our 15 gallons of bottled drinking water, nor remember to stop at the doctor's office to check on the import status of the Baclofen.

but I'm sooooooooooooooooooo wiped out from yesterday, that I can't go today... my left leg is spazzing to beat the band, and my sinuses are full again (yuck!)

and Kell, remember, I can ONLY do that kind of long day during the winter... DH gets to go solo during the heat of spring.

:hug: :heartthrob: :hug:

tkrik 12-12-2008 08:06 AM

Kay - Glad to hear you are ok. Thanks for posting. I figured you were just a busy bee (as usual). You amaze me too as well as inspire me to keep doing things as much as I can.:hug:

Renee - Saying some prayers for you that you are feeling better today.:hug:

Sarah - I am glad things went well at the smasher yesterday. I hope the dr can give you some answers today on the tests as well as give you something to help with whatever it is you have. Please update us after your appointment.

Kelly - Hope the weather starts being kinder to you. It could also be that you just had some sort of cold and you are just getting over it. Hoping your legs are better today.

Hi to everyone else. I hope you are all doing well.

Update: I have to get my geek on today. Last night my monitor decided to freak and go out. I checked all connections and still, nothing. Today I will be working on it to see if I can get it to work. If not, I am hoping my brother has an extra monitor I can use. (He is a computer geek and has spare parts laying around).

I am hoping that it is not the computer that's the problem.:(:mad: (Which I doubt as the darn thing was freaking out when the computer was off).

I hope I don't get any dictation as that would not be good. In addition, I was in the middle of printing the Christmas cards that artist wanted as well as my own. I really need to get it fixed.

soxmom 12-12-2008 08:55 AM

Good morning!!

Renee.........I hope you feel better soon.:hug:

Kelly........sorry your legs are giving you trouble...maybe all the rain
is bugging them.:hug:

Kay.....Im glad you are just busy. We miss you when you are not here...
noone has the tales you do.:hug:

tricia........I hope that you get your computer fixed!! good luck!

Wiz....Hi.........:hug:

Sandy...thanks for the update on Renee.

Weav...........its nice to "see" you so happy!!!!

Frank and deb, debd, barb, Vonn, fin, and all, have a wonderful weekend!!!!!

MY UPDATE: weather is awful here, its now raining but we had ice
overnight. So Im working on more cookies today. This weekend is
jampacked full....

We have sports, gotta get a tree and decorate , and Sunday is pierogi
day. My db and parents are coming over and we are going to have
a pierogi production party!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!:D

:hug:s to everyone!!!!!

JustWeave 12-12-2008 08:59 AM

Thanks again for all the congrats on my new job. I'm still wearing yesterday's silly grin. :D Even DH's wrath last night due to fetching the buried Christmas decor in the attic couldn't wipe away the grin. And believe me he tried really hard to do just that. :mad:

So after too many years of not using it I finally have the big tree up again. Boy did I ever miss that beauty. Eight or so feet of lush greenery wrapped in hundreds of clear lights, draped with lots of iridescent clear bead garland, sprinkled with white crocheted snowflakes, and a white snow angel perched on top. :heartthrob: Today I'll put the medium tree up, find places for the greenery garland I got years ago and never had a clean enough house to use :o (till now), and add the greenery swags to my outdoor decor.

Housework awaits as always. :rolleyes: Gentle healing hugs to those not feeling good today. :hug:

FinLady 12-12-2008 09:00 AM

Aren't computer geeks great? LOL, I am biased since I married one. :D

Morning all. :) Trying to wake up, sipping my coffee. So far the plans are to slow cook a roast, and take a nap if I need to a little later on. Gotta get my game on for the preview show tonight, so will listen and not push (like I did yesterday, lol).

I like my GI doc so far. I had a cog fog at the office (they gave me a lot of stuff to bring home), and I accidentally left the prescription of an anti-spasmatic med she had prescribed for me. Unlike any other office, which would've called and asked me to come back in to pick it up, Got it in the mail. I looked at it and went "d'oh" :Doh:

~~~~~~~~
Renee, hope you feel better soon. :hug::hug:
Sandy, Barb, and Frank & Deb, Thanks for the holiday cards. :hug:
Kay, my geek chef has taken over the holiday menu. I'm in charge of the sweets, but other than that - he has declared the kitchen his for the holiday. Kinda neat to see since he is good at cooking. learned from his mom.
Glad to hear you're doing well, and so are your animals. too cool to hear that the animals are thriving. :)
Trish, hope you can either get monitor fixed or replaced soon.
Sarah, glad the test didn't go too badly. Hope the results come out good. :hug:
Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:
barb02 12-12-2008 11:05 AM
TGIF! IT IS THE LAST DAY OF CLASSES!!! I am sitting in my office listening to XMAS carols and working on my course syllabi for next semester. We got a light dusting of snow so it looks pretty. We have a department potluck at noon, and then I have a meeting at 2:00. Can you believe the Dean scheduled a meeting on the last day of classes? I guess I shouldn't skip that one.:rolleyes:
Renee , Sending out prayers that you recover quickly.
Kelly, This weather is making my leg stiffer too.
Kay, Glad you are ok.
Where's Frank?
Debbie D, I read your other thread about copaxone and "witchiness." Hope you are feeling better soon. I would guess it is the 'roids causing your grouchiness. Are you getting enough sleep?
Hi to everyone else! Hope you have a good weekend!
SandyC 12-12-2008 11:22 AM
Good morning Insights! I am in limbo mode waiting for the rest of my gifts to come in to wrap. That's the only downfall of online shopping; waiting for the items to come to you. No instant gratification but still the easiest way to shop!
I am going to finish painting the downstairs basement and getting it ready. Then call those contractors and mobility people to send the darn quotes already. Sheesh, I think the fact we're getting some money to help with the cost is making them slack a little.
Have a good day everyone and I'll see you later today. :hug:
weegot5kiz 12-12-2008 11:39 AM
how do yall
Kay do you mainline the cocoa leaves:yikes: glad you are ok slow down speedy:hug:, and figure out that camera soon
NAeNAe:hug: sorry you is sick get better hospitals sucketh mucheth, only good thing about hospitals is the nurses,:rolleyes:
everyone have a wonderful day cant believe I am last to post I was awake till 7 am got up around 9:20 joy joy
peace yall
tkrik 12-12-2008 12:27 PM
Yeah Barb!!!! I am so glad it is your last day of classes today. Now you will have, what a month off? How relaxing is that. Good luck today.
Sandy - What is wrong with those contractors. You would think with the economy being what it is, they would jump at the chance to make some money. Knowing me, I would be calling them to see if they were still interested in submitting a bid. Maybe they just aren't interested in making money or many they will be out of business soon.:eek: I am so coming up there soon - bringing DBF (DDs), tools, welder, etc. LOL Seriously, I really wish we could do that for you.:hug:
Have fun painting the basement. (I'd help with that too if I was there). Can you tell I love this remodeling stuff. I get a charge out of it.
Hi Frank! Sorry you didn't get much sleep at ALL! I hope you are able to rest and nap today.:hug:
Fin - Glad you like your GI Guy (or the Plumber as my dad calls them). Hope the antispasmodic helps you out. Oh, I made a roast the other day and oh, it smelled so good and tasted as good as it smelled. Mmmm!
soxmom 12-12-2008 12:49 PM
fin........how is that roast coming?? I love the way the house smells
when a roast is slow cooking.:)
Barb.......Is this the day of your party?? If it is Have fun!!
Wiz...feel better.:hug:
I finished and mailed my Christmas cards..yahoo!!!!:)
sabimax 12-12-2008 12:51 PM
WEll I called in sick for today at work....so I could get to that dr apt and also extra rest....she didnt have any more info on the EBV test results..they are high and all..but she sent them to a infectious disease guy..or immunologist...to read and give her better info....who knows....we ahve had the results now for two or three weeks...think the fax would get back to her soon. Anyhow, she said my ear is infected and throat looks pretty bad...so on Zithromax..for five days....so hoping it helps kick this finally.
Just chilling now till the little two need a nap..then I am taking a nap too...hoping for a long one....then back to work tomorrow thru Monday...think I am short weke coming..think off tues, wed and thurs..as had kids things and apts....so that is cool.maybe I can get some christmas stuff done..hahahahaaa
hubby has done shopping for the kids..so good start...not very fun sometimes shopping when we dont really have the money to spend...blahhhh
anyhow..the girls now have all my pots and pans out..and playing like music..or using them as hopscotch it looks like....grand..hahaha
hubby bought them a kitchen kid set, thinking the two of them will love to pretend cook for us all the time....so that was a good present choice for them....
hugss to all....
Nae Nae keep resting and go in if needed..hugssss
to all..keep healthy lots of junk going around....:winky:
hugsssssss,sarah:)
Debbie D 12-12-2008 01:12 PM
Nae, hope that you feel better soon...don't reject a hospital visit if the dr. thinks it will speed your recovery...:hug:
Sarah, make sure you have some yogurt daily while on the abs...don't want a yeast infection, too! Take care of yourself...:hug:
Barb, congrats on making it through the semester...hope you have a great break! :Dancing-Chilli:
I got up early today, and went to work out for while...I wake up a few times during the night, but then fall back to sleep...not like when on 'roids, when I was awake for hours at a time.
Well, hope all of you have a wonderful afternoon...:)
ewizabeth 12-12-2008 01:41 PM
Get well soon Sarah... :hug:
Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to stop by and say hello. I have been busy with school, crazy this mod! I got a temporary job at JC Penny just working the 19th - 26th but it may work into something more. I am keeping my fingers crossed for sure!
We had the terrible ice storm go through here last night. We still have power but now the wind is coming up with gust up to 50 mph. I am expecting it to happen any time now. It has stopped raining so that is a good thing! My parents are futher north and they have been without power since early this morning. They have a wood stove so they are all set.
I hope everyone is doing well - :hug: to people who need it and :hug:to those of you who don't you are getting one any way! :p
I miss everyone!
Momma's Kids 12-12-2008 03:08 PM
Hello my sweeties, now raise your arms and just laugh...for no other reason than laughing. Who cares what that person sitting by you thinks, who cares that you are work reading this...
Lift your arms to the sky and laugh, that deep down joyful laugh that makes you feel good all over...and shake like a bowl of jelly...
See, it wasn't so bad now was it? Oh yeah, I saw those of you that didn't do it...taking stocking stuffers out of stocking...
:D:D:hug:
tamiloo 12-12-2008 03:34 PM
Jenn, Hope the preview show goes well. I missed your post about it -- actually read it too fast. :o Have a good time.
Kelly, I just ordered a pizza. I guess it is pizza night. And then I will have pizza leftovers.
Tricia, I am not done with school yet -- just classes.
I have take home finals due from two classes on Wednesday. (Then I get three weeks off). I have finished grading all of my grad student papers and have figured out their final grades. I am leaving for Ohio on Thursday as long as the weather cooperates. Jenn and I have plans to meet at Houlihans for dinner.
COK -- Thanks for the laugh! I actually did it. Of course there is no one here to hear me.:D
barb02 12-12-2008 06:30 PM
