I called SS yesterday, and they said they have no decision in my record as of now. They told me the ALJ will have to write his decision and turn it in, before it is recorded!
I hope this doesn't mean something is wrong?

No, don't worry! The SSA department is always lagging behind. They sometimes get the information after you do! That is why people say watch your bank acc't, you may see the $$$ b4 the letter in the mail!

I sure hope you all are right. I would have just felt so much better if the SSA, had told me the decision was favorable. I can wait....just knowing that it is coming soon!!

Until you have a decision in writing, your claim is still pending. What your lawyer said to you could be correct, but SSA can't act on what your lawyer said that the ALJ said. It all has to be in writing.

Got the decision letter today.

FULLY FAVORABLE!!
I am so glad, now I guess I have to wait on the reward letter to see how much I will get each month, how much back pay, and how much the lawyer takes.

thanks to all who replied to me

Congratulations! You'll likely get your money in no time. Did the letter say what they found your date of disability to be? You don't get paid for the first four months after that so if you know the disability date they determined, you can figure out the back pay.

From what I've heard from friends, yes, you will have to pay taxes on the lump sum back pay if it's substantial. I can't tell you whether you will have to pay taxes on your disability money because that depends on you and your husband's income. Speak with a tax preparer or lawyer.
