Awww, you're a good momma cat, Tricia!! :D

One thing I learned when my cats were kittens - never, ever recline in a recliner and think that the kitten will not get underneath it!!! We couldn't find Tigger once and he was inside of the recliner!! It's a wonder he wasn't squished! I don't have a recliner anymore and won't after that fiasco!

Other than that - they grow FAST....and once he gets acclimated to your home and used to everyone you'll find it hard to remember when he was a scaredy cat! My Gracie was so tiny when we first got her I had to feed her with an eyedropper. Now....she weighs 24 pounds and looks like a hippo!!

Kelly - I am glad I don't have a recliner. DBF did that to his little one at his house. It was scary!

tk get an old wind up clock the ticking sound sooths them sound like a heartbeat to them, put in in the bedding area for it to sleep

What a cool idea Frank. I did think of trying to get it to rest on my chest to listen to my own heartbeat but knew it would not like that right now. LOL.

For the past few hours it has been quiet with the exception of when DD18 decided to bring it in the living room and lay on the couch with it. It did not like that AT ALL! It took off under the couch crying and then DD18 started crying. It must be a female. LOL.

I made DD18 bring the kitty back in the bathroom where it's cozy hobo box is. LOL.

What a cute and adorable kitty!!!

sweet little tabby kitten.

You may want to contact a vet/humane society about getting the kitten clean/shots/etc. The vet can also help you get the kitten acclimated.

When we got Spazzy (may she rest in peace and my DH gets credit for the horrible name, I wanted Princess but Spazzy is the name that stuck:rolleyes:)

but anyway, when we got Spazzy, she was a bit feral. I kept her in the master bedroom that had the attached bathroom. I slept on the floor to get her used to me.

She eventually left the bathroom and cuddled in the bed after a day or two. It was so awesome when she made the move.

Since Pepper is still dirty, you will want to get him/her clean so that bonding can begin in the warm bed.

Good luck! Pepper is adorable. Tabbies are very cuddly cats by nature. Food and warmth work wonders. I am very proud of your DD, she has a lot of heart.

Congrats on the new baby Tricia :). I have rescued quite a few cats over the years. I have 4 right now :D. Definitely get the kitten to a vet asap. He\she probably has earmites, fleas etc. I know...yuck!! You definitely don't want to get an infestation in your home, trust me on this one. It is not a pretty picture. I have had over a 140 cats and kittens in my lifetime :D. My dad did not believe in spaying so our poor cat had over 100 kittens during her life :(. I am definitely pro spaying and neutering after all of that. LOL I am sure you will make a great cat 'mom' :)! (yes, I'm a crazy cat lady :D)

Thanks Aarcyn and Joelle. I do need to get it in. . . wait, . . .this is DD18's cat and responsibility. DD18 needs to get it in to the vet (at my insistence. LOL).

The vet right by us has a kitty program. It's like $100 and includes check ups, shots, and grooming as well as spay/neuter for the 1st year. It really is a good program.

That is great! Sounds like a great program.

How did the kitty do last night? I think Grammy is going to fall harder for the kitty than DD! lol

Last night? Let's just say I am so upset with DD! This morning I get up and notice the bathroom door is open as well as DDs room. There in DDs room it is blocked off. The kitty is crying and crying. :( She block the poor baby off from it's food, water, and litter box!!! I felt so bad for the little guy. The crying was coming from behind an old hope chest. I look down there and DD16's tote bag had fell on the kitty!!! Thank goodness it was empty.

DD18 may be blonde but is no excuse for not thinking. Actually, I know what she was thinking but she didn't think it through. She was thinking, I want to sleep in my bed and not on the bathroom floor again. DD16 did tell her she was blocking it off from it's food, water, etc. They got in an argument and DD18 told her it's my cat I'll do what I want with it. (I slept through the whole thing. LOL)

Guess who is going to get a talking to when she wakes up. It took me almost an hour to get kitty calmed down (not crying). I did put it back in the bathroom but left the door opened and blocked the hallway. It chased me crying. I sat down on the floor and it crawled up on me, put it's paws on my chest, and looked me straight in the eye crying. To me this was a really good sign.
