Default cymbalta

anyone here tried cymbalta? Did it help with your TOS pain? I'm thinking about trying it.
Thanks for any info.

I was on Cymbalta for a while several years ago and I don't think the side effects were that bad, but I don't think it really helped my pain that much so I stopped it. It might be worth a try.

I tried it for awhile. It did help with the pain, but it made me really, aggressively angry so I had to stop. I think it's worth a try; just be aware of the possible side effects!

The side effects were worse for me in the first week. After that it gave me good relief but I had to stop because it raised my blood pressure and pulse.

Hello TOStrojan

Cymbalta was recommended to me to adjunct the Lyrica by a Neurologist who specializes in TOS. For the sharp nerve pain that I was feeling from TOS/CRPS.

It takes about 2 weeks to stabilize on Cymbalta. I noticed the first week of my Cymbalta-taking an improvement in the sharp pain from TOS/CRPS. The sharp pain was lessened by taking the Cymbalta with Lyrica. I think overall Lyrica is better.

There are side effects from Cymbalta. So I take "holidays" from the Cymbalta. However, you should never take Holidays from Lyrica, you should not suddenly stop takin g Lyrica. You could try it and see if it helps you, but give yourslef 2 weeks.

Just remember everyone's system reacts differently to meds. I tried Cymbalta and the side effects were so severe I had to stop after 5 days. I was then put on Lyrica and I have had no side effects and it is actually working. So you just need to try and see what works best for you. My friend tried Lyrica and all she wanted to do was sleep. It actually works the opposite for me and amps me up with tons of energy!.. Go figure.

tried cymbalta and it worked really well for my pain. I stopped though because it amped me up and I couldn't sleep for two nights. I took 30mg. I just got another scrip for a lower dose --- 20mg. Will try it with neurontin. Hopefully the lower dose and the neurontin will take the edge off.

I was put on Cymbalta and Lyrica at the same time.

I get monthly blood tests, and I noticed my blood sugar was 400 to 500 each time so I asked my w/c docs, and they said, "oh, you have diabetes " mellitis (out of control), which both drugs warn you about blurry eyes (because sugar causes blurry eyes) and bout of diahrhea and vomiting at the same time, and no appetite for anything but soft ice cream...

So I immediately got off of the meds, and a referral doc wrote a report linking the meds side effects as giving me diabetes, so diabetes is now a part of my case and the w/c MUST pay for the products. It took my a ton of effort, and effort by my partner, to get men down, and although I still have to take the shots, I have perfect blood sugar and I hope to not need the shots soon.

This is my personal story - everyone is different - but when I notice pain flares, I always check my blood, as it is often way high or way low, and it affects the TOS pain.

I am up in the mountains now - (like Big Bear) - and I do have less flare ups, but my exercise (going up and down stairs), is just not happening...but the snows are so beautiful, I recommend the lifestyle for TOS

I love you all,

I have slightly high blood sugar. I wonder if that affects the flares. I get them mostly after pT or massages. My doc ordered me to exercise more with 30 secs of high intensity every 5 min.!

I have been thinking about trying neurontin for a long time now. I have been hesitant because of the fatigue and weight gain, and usually only get flare-ups
after pt or massages, but thinking it might help me get back to work. How does the neurontin affect you? Does it help with muscle spasms? What is Cymbalta?
I will look up cymbalta-I'm not familair with it-although I've heard all the adds. I just take celebrex or relafan and Tramadol or Flexeril at night when I need it-but I dont think the celebrex or Relafan do anything. Nothing helps my nerve pain except hours of ice.
