Default Where do I go now

I'm completely at the end of my rope and don't know where to go next. The workers comp system has let me down and my attorney says there's nothing more that can be done. I've checked with other attorneys and they've pretty much told me the same thing. Their doctors never gave me a diagnosis at all although 3 of the 5 physical therapists agreed that I have TOS but their doctor dismissed it as a "notion". I am currently not able to work and am not taking any medication for the pain and can hardly stand it anymore. I did go to see a doctor on my own while I still had some money in savings and he said he felt that I have a pinched nerve and possible RSD. Now I have no money left to seek treatment on my own nor do I have health insurance. I sought treatment at the LSU clinic where they will treat me for free but that didn't go very well. The doctor didn't examine me at all, he just said it's arthritis in my neck, gave me a shot of Toradol & a shot of steroids and said to come back in 3 months for another round, that's all he can do for me. Of course that didn't help at all. Anybody have any suggestions on where I could possibly get some help?

People can name some good doctors if they know your location.

Is your wc claim closed now & finalized???
I don't know what to tell you about that part of it... other than that system stinks if you have a so called "invisible" injury..
It's just so hard and stressful to go thru the process to prove TOS and then to prove the job caused it.

I can't recall if your sx are mostly vascular or nerve.
Or if you even got any really good PT at all?

Have you applied for disability at all, if not I would get started on that.

There's the short term disability and then the long term - I forget which letters are for which one SSDI or SSI?? I guess there is SSD too.
you can find the forms/info on the gov site.

this has some info too-

Thanks....my symptoms are mostly nerve I guess. I haven't really had much good physical therapy...it was more hit & miss & they really tried to rush me through it. My WC is still open, they wanted to close it out but I had my attorney stall it out so I can seek medical treatment on my own. My boyfriend is on disability, I know how hard it was for him to get it and he has a visible disability (amputation) and back problems and one of the things that made it hard for him to get it was that he was unable to see a doctor for several years. Has anyone been able to get SSI or SSD when there is very little documented medical info to back up the claim?

SSDI - It's Social Security Disability Insurance (disabled social security)

SSI - Suppplemental Social Insurance (depends on low income to qualify -government assistance)

Our SSD forum might have some threads or posts with info, check the sticky there too -
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum28.html

I went outside on my own to get help for my wc injury too.
I did have to pay cash since a paper trail would have messed up my claim or confused /complicated things...on the wc part .

I did find a really good chiro that gave me a discount for cash payments, and he was/is my main TOS & adjustments treatment provider.

I also found a advanced PT guy that I went to for a thorough RSI/TOS evaluation - he was really good too.
He was the one to notice that my top ribs were in a raised position and got them dropped down in the one session.

I had been walking around with those raised & stuck ribs for months, and didn't realize what was causing even very minor uses to flare me up.
I had a constant weak neck, every little bump or turn riding in the car wore me out, couldn't even stir fry or brown hamburger and a constant tight collar feeling

After the PT guy dropped my ribs I drove home 30 miles and had no arm or neck pain. I was amazed!

At the next chiro session I mentioned it to him and he added top rib check/adjust to my tx, he only had to readjust every so often if I had done something to pop it up again.

so there are good people out there -just hard to search them out sometimes.
I called many PT places and stopped in at offices if they weren't busy I'd ask questions. If you find a good PT they usually can point you to a good dr.

The problem is I have absolutely no money at all to spend on searching for doctors & treatments on my own. I'm in horrible pain right now and have no doctor to prescribe anything at all for me and no money to go to a doctor.

Tough spotp to be in , sounds like you'll need to keep fighting through it with the wc part of it.

While going thru the wc stuff and waiting for something to happen looks like about all you can do right now is self care.

I have some TOS, therapeutic, posture, etc videos linked in the stickys, and a thread I made a few months ago with more videos that I found that looked helpful.

But they're easy to find on youtube and google videos, just try a few different search words to see anything looks helpful to you.
If you look thru some of those you might find things to try or maybe a friend might help you with the massage portions....

I don't recall if you checked out our wc forum yet or not-

Thanks for the videos, I'll check those out over the next few days. At this point I'm willing to try just about anything....I've gotta find something to ease the pain!
