Make sure your magnesium is not oxide form. That is not absorbed from the GI tract. You will need a chelated type or chloride like SlowMag. Oxide is still out there, and very inexpensive so people use it. Its main use today is as a laxative...it is in Phillips Tablets for constipation.

I have to remind people all the time about this, because it is so common still.
